This is the first movie I ever saw Ian McKellen in.. He was so young in this.. You almost cant believe he is the same guy in LOTR
He's a friend of the Crown. Dilly dilly. 😂
" They have done nothing! " Silly spoiled child, when did that little detail stop the Bolsheviks?
It always starts " as a noble enterprise ". But it always ends with the NKVD knocking on your door in the middle of the night.
He's a Bolshevik- not a gentleman.
The movie is so deliciously anti Bolshevik. 😂
The Bolsheviks- as I live and breathe. 😂
"Ah Percy, fashionably late as usual" Sink me Your Highness twas this damnable cravat 😂😂
Ian McKellen was really trying not to laugh. That scene is hilarious!
Great movie with Anthony Andrews
Try to find it on DVD. The whole movie is on UA-cam. Its a favorite of mine as well.
Ich befürchte Franzosen werden diesen Film nicht so großartig finden, ich habe ihn tatsächlich zufällig auf UA-cam gefunden und liebe ihn
That’s a one sided duel if I ever saw one . Percy could have ended Chauvelin 10 seconds in and instead chose to completely punk him
Chauvelin keeps trying to play checkers against a 3D chess master
❤ great acting Anthony Andrews and cast fantastic
❤I absolutely love that man!
Guys, we should be taking notes😅
Horrifying.. .
Recall at this time Edwards and Seymour were married in real life
I think I only saw this movie once on TV, when I was a kid (I´m 52 now). It got stuck in my head all this years!
madamme la guillotine
Sir Percival and Lady Blakeney ❤
😃❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ EXTRAORDINARY !!!👏✅
I will ALWAYS love this movie! ❤️
They don’t make actors like Anthony Andrew’s anymore. He IS a masterclass. His facial choices down to how he changes the tone of his voice is completely perfect.
Common French L
But, what happened to Chauvelan? He was not killed in the duel. Was he taken to England and tried? Did they stop the deaths by guillotine?
This was a great tv series
Ian McKellan looks so young! Even back then he was such a great actor!
I never understood why Percy doesn't stop Armand from leaving and risking the plan. Percy made clear that rescuing the Dauphine was his #1 priority, so important that he was even willing to let his marriage fall apart rather than even take the chance of risking the Dauphine's life. Why would he let Armand risk it? Still an amazing movie though. Thanks so much for posting.
In mouvies like this it is very importent to have a good mean actor and Ian Mc Kellen did a very good Job Thank you for uploading
really love this version, and jane seymour is beautiful as always, all the actors are great in this.
2:46 "Sink me - what is the time?" 😂😂😂
I love that line 😅😅
Armand is literally the worst at being a member of a secret society, lol. I still adore this movie though. Thanks for posting!
I'm just gonna say it: Percy is insufferable.
Any partial believers or other schemers?
How many followers has he got from that rot?
I guess we are playing persuasion
But you're acquainted with her brother you pathetic retard.
If that abomination is a " republic " I'm Frida Kahlo.
Bolshevism described in one scathing sentence. Bravo, Percy!
Easing the child's fear snd teaching him a not to judge all in one lesson. A.a. has great hand jesters. So elegant
I can fully understand both men and women falling in love with Erik. But Marguerite being in love with Chaveluin? Seriously? Uncle Ian never should have agreed to play this part.
Oh, now I get it. Armand was unconscious, he didn't actually see the fight and how lethal Percy can be. As far as he's concerned his attackers could have ran away and Percy just found him and brought him to the inn. That's why he buys Percy's " fop " charade.
Uncle Ian is gonna more than compensate as Erik. And Michael will help.
I always wondered if he really needed the eye piece ir if it was just for effect.
What kind of a king he would have made? Can you ever truly recover from such trauma?
I never liked Uncle Ian playing that clown. But he more than compensated with Magneto.
Its not a long journey from Lindisfarne to England!!
I love the original with Leslie Howard but this rendition is awesome 👍👍👍
