Splendida completare a celor doua voci.

Marvelous voices and music
La. Stupenda...superb A generous, and magnificent lady and voice...with humility and superb. What more can one say...listening to hear is a great joy.
Oh dear, a chance in a million operation to get 20 years of potential composition - terrible idea
Do wish it had better sound quality... Andy's voice was awesome and in the studio I managed to back him away when "I GOT IT" - such a gracious teacher too!!!
Bravissimi Placido e HeiKyung!
What are the opening comments from Pavarotti and Sutherland referring to? Sounds as if someone off camera said something they didn’t like.
IIRC, Pavarotti became nervous before these Australian concerts, and wanted to cancel because he suddenly became “allergic to stage dust.” Sutherland & Bonynge talked him down off the ledge, and the concerts were huge successes. The critics and journalists wouldn’t let such a juicy story go unmentioned.

Very curious video. Some moments of awkward hostility with the crew.
I am thinking about this, but I think he does a great work. So or so, one of the best in this duett! Otherwise, there is for me only Freni, Bieshu and Angela Gheorghiu. Angela even better in this duett, since they were realy in love with Roberto and you can hear it. And sure, there were in their primes... ua-cam.com/video/JLK8S_-hUAQ/v-deo.html, listen to Bieshu and Atlantov. Another gem! ua-cam.com/video/RxLlJjqBOPU/v-deo.html
What a precious video! Thank you so much for publishing it ❤
Incredible singing. This level of singing is missed today on the opera stage. At least we still got it on video. How sublime they both sing here. Bravi!
Thank you for this clip!
Grande Tenore dei tempi passati!

Love it...thanks for posting
Richard was definitely a better opera singer than he was a brain surgeon.
Excellent! Thank you.
Thanks! Amazing performance.
We all know that there are very few clips of the real Ravel, so most of those black-and-white clips must be filmed with an actor (IMDb says it’s Thierry Costa). It’s both beautiful and sad, seeing the man on the screen, and being reminded of how much we miss him in this world.
Indeed ❤ Thank you. I shall note that.
@@MattPozdoltheVoice I can’t be sure because I don’t know how many real Ravel clips there are in hidden archives. The clip at 6:02 is definitely Ravel himself (you can find it in multiple videos on UA-cam), and the clips of his dead body look exactly the same as the only photo of his body that you can find online. So it is entirely possible that all the black-and-white clips are, indeed, Ravel himself. This would make this documentary more precious than anything else.
But also… what kind of freak would film the opening clip of Ravel struggling to write (if it’s really him)? I can’t decide.
@@eufemiahz1556 I believe that the opening sequence of the beginning is missing.
@@MattPozdoltheVoice I agree, the film probably didn’t begin like that. Anyway, thanks for uploading this documentary, this means a lot for me as a Ravel fan and more people should see it!
Without a doubt, the sweetest voice I have ever heard in the theater! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Typo above. This production is from 1990 and the excellent Richard Cowan is much missed.

Fantastic interview. One really senses the enjoyment they had in their art.
Grandioso y Excepcional Bravo Corelli
Brings back so many beautiful memories. Thanks for posting.
Do you know, Maestro Florido?
My God...I'd never seen this gem before. Is there any more from the session that could be posted? It's marvelous to hear them speaking about their careers so intimately. She had the greatest voice God ever gave a human, and Luciano wasn't far behind, tenor-wise.
wasn't behind at all. Pavarotti about as perfect vocally as anyone could imagine.
The epilogue is missing from this post, but I assure you, it WAS performed, as always at the Met. I was at the performance.

@@MattPozdoltheVoice Thanks, Matt. :))
@@MattPozdoltheVoice Oh! You thought I was saying WHAT about who were the cast, conductor! ha! No, I always look down that list. I was exclaiming about how incredible it is! Isn't it fascinating about language and how it is written? Always amazes me. I see why you thought that. But, I would never be irritated about ANYTHING here with these great gifts! thanks, buddy!

Fantastic cast! Wonderful singers. Joan Sutherland's column of sound is majestic
Joan Sutherland is all heart and soul in every word she says. I love it, so humble, so kind, generous. Pavarotti as well. I believe Maestro Bonynge is still alive?
Yes he is - he is 92.
@@pattishephard5651 He only made it because he was her husband. Awful conductor...
@@marcosmarin8930 I guess your mother never told you to keep quiet if you didn't have anything decent to say
@@davidphipps4528 Oh my !! You are NOT able to see that I am RIGHT ??
@@marcosmarin8930 You are a pr**k to suggest that he only ‘made it’ because of her. Who should she have married? Karajan, Bernstein, Serafin, Solti? Was he the best conductor in the world? Perhaps not but he was attentive to the score, the singers and gave great support in addition to being Music Director at several opera companies. He was an excellent musician and rode on No one’s coat tails. They enjoyed working together and made arrangements to do so.
What treasures you have in your collection! I saw each of them many times separately, but only twice together. And I can assure you, the excitement nearly blew the roof off the theater!
How many more surprises do you have for us. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Many! Thank you for enjoying! You are most welcome.
