I’ve been having an existential crisis bc I haven’t drawn my ocs that much and my story hasn’t developed since I was like 16/17 and I couldn’t understand why I felt so blocked or unsatisfied but I just realised it’s bc I grew up and I’m not that interested in portraying high schoolers anymore 😭

Most webtoons don't feel like stories with a purpose, and by purpose i mean something they wanna tell, webtoons and manwha most of the time feel like things made to feed the ego or the artist, express ther fetishes and likings while creating a fantasy that their fanbase agrees with, it's basically like a drug almost, only existing to make them euphoric and boost their egos.

You do not actually need a neocities to host a static html/css/js website. There are GitHub/GitLab/Codeberg/Cloudflare pages, netlify, vercel and so many other free static site hosting platforms. Neocities just makes it simpler for nondevelopers because you never have to think about things like git, domains and so on + built-in visits statistics

Characters are a delicate balance of stereotypes and breaking them. Definitely a little bit stressful especially for someone who’s not really a minority but I’m trying and learning 👍

I don't mind seeing most ML in his black short hair. As a very Asian person, this is the most normal look to me. We have black hair, and there're so many men in reality who would never dye their hair and it's considered modest, clean (and hot at the same time) if they maintained their hair short. So unless there's some fantasy, their hair should be just that way. We like it 'cos we can relate it.

I’ve seen so many canvas comics go original and lose all their flavor and I call it commercialization. It’s so tragic everytime. It feels like the world ended everytime. I won’t name names for respect to the artists but it’s just… 💔

6:24 yes!! I get so peeved cause so many authors abuse the scroll to not draw stuff. Like they add squares or gradients and you miss out on so much story. I don’t mind it if it’s small transition but some skip a whole a page. I like reading comics like the old school manga or comic style. It’s just the panels are so cool and zig zag through the page meanwhile the format is mostly just top to bottom. Ugh sorry for the rant. It’s just a peeve I have.

I just want to say thank you for sharing your resources, and links to different sites to help me make a diverse cast of characters. I have been searching for a long time on how to draw realistic people instead of same cliche of skinny models and body builders. There are some things that I disagree on but all in all your information was really helpful and I appreciate it a lot.
