Honda Spree speed pulley
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
installing a scooter swap shop spree speed pulley on the 84. i strongly recommend this mod if you're not looking to swap the engine on your spree. it will help top end speed but will sacrifice low end acceleration which is not too bad. I started having clutch issues where the bone would sort of skip until it got up to speed. need to get new clutch pads and try again.
CHEAP under glow for scooters!

added some under glow to the spree and wired up a new ignition switch !
HONDA SPREE BIG BORE KIT
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
The jug on the bike cracked so ended up going big bore kit. This is good because we lost the video where we did the red spree.

NEW QUICK SIDE PROJECT JUST BECAUSE
Переглядів 984 роки тому
Bought a 1984 Honda spree (nq50) trying to get it running then restoring it. This is just a quick side project to keep the posts up sence we haven't really posted much in a long while. Next videos should be a mix between this thing and the e36 sedan bimmerfest prep. That is if everything goes well haha.

THE GHETTOEST GHETTO DRIFT BUTTON AND WELDED DIFF
How much was the build
Bought a complete 150cc scooter for 100$ made the wheel adapter from the old wheel and the wheel was like 80$+ something like that
Cómo va el pistón
dead project ? 2 years later :D
which e46 arms did you get and what hex size was it for conversion bushing?
were you able to hook sway bar end links back up as well?
My stock 86 spree does 33 on flat ground with me riding. It runs really strong. I'm having trouble with electric starter, it works when it wants. Lol.. I enjoy videos like this, I learn something new everyday.
2 stroke was better
no!!!
When is the next update??
Probably 2034
Hello, greetings from Peru, can you make a video of how the variator works in the Honda Pax Eve, please, greetings!
Unfortunately I don't have a Honda pax eve to do this with and my engine is only a single speed non variated so it would be different i think
Hello, greetings from Peru, can you make a video of how the variator works in the Honda Pax Eve, please, greetings!
hi bro., thanks for share. i need a favor, were I to buy the caburator?, i need it. I live in El Salvador.
Where did you find this kit for sale? Can’t seem to find one anywhere
I'm not sure if it's being made any more I've tried looking myself for it but i can't find it anymore either 😔
@@bmxcrazy360 dam 😭
Did you ever ride it with the one side non beaded like that.. I have the same issue she hasn’t lost air and has taken weight on it soo idk still sketched
I honestly have not. I'm trying to put the bigger wheel up front too so i am able to stop before i even attempt to ride it as is
Very nice I learned something!
Interesting stuff Awesome video man
Is it still going? The big bore.if not What kinda miles did you get til issues I got a stock one my father bought in85 just hit 700 miles
Honestly haven't gotten much use out of it because the clutch gave out on the scooter. Once i figure out a new clutch or retrofit I'll try and make a video
@@bmxcrazy360 mine only goes 25 all stock but i would roughen up the clutch pads clean with brakklean wondering about these bbk now
I tried that on mine but it didn't last long. I. Sure it will still turn on and all but the clutch is toast. Also I'm not even sure if they're still making these kits bc i haven't seen them on eBay where i bought it from. Maybe another company makes them or something?
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 🔥🔥
Part 3 will be coming sooner!
@@bmxcrazy360 guess you lied about that lol still haven’t posted it
Feb 2024.. still waiting
i can’t for the life of me install this on my spree with the new belt i ordered also. it’s the correct belt but thicker than the one that was on it. i had to use the original belt but there were barely any splines to attach the front sprocket too
I usually just pinch the belt super hard to where the clutch is pressed. While holding the belt install the pulley.
Any more progress?
No not yet. Life has been kicking my ass lately but i haven't forgot yet! I'll upload soon!
Man, never use an impact gun to tighten nuts and bolts.
I'll think about it :)
@@bmxcrazy360 I mean, you can over tighten them and either weaken them, strip them out, or break em completely. But you do you.
@@bkehlin i don't usually take it too far when tightening. Kinda depends on what I'm doing.
@@bkehlin i appreciate the input and this wasn't meant to be a smartass answer!
@@bmxcrazy360don't think about it, keep doing it. I went a little bit without doing it once and the bolt popped off and the belt was totally disengaged and had to walk it all the way home. You are not going to break the threads on a crankshaft unless you do an unrealistic amount
Got my spree from 25 top to 37 top.. thanks Scooter swap shop
thanks a ton for supporing us! ride safe and enjoy
You learn soon my son
Awesome! Looking forward to part 2
Where did you get the big bore kit? Also what did you do to the carb?
bump
bump
May I ask where did you get the swap kit from? I’m interested in doing the same. Waiting for the install video as well? Thanks for documenting your build.
Scooter swap shop for the pulley. It's pretty quick easy install just need like a 8mm and a 10mm maybe and like a 14 i think
You mentioned a “complete variater swap”. That’s what I was referencing. Not the pulley.
@@SuperMdara are you able to tag the time spot where i said that? I'm still learning all the proper scooter terminology but i know now that the spree didn't come with a variated engine. I actually just bought a variated AF05 off an aero but thats for a future video down the road
I have these and they rub the front tires, did you adjust them to have close to no negative camber? Are you using a spacer?
Running a spacer up front and a 1 inch in the rear
@@bmxcrazy360 what size for the front?
@@bmxcrazy360 thanks for the response!
Take your air box tube mount it to carb then have it facing the side or if you can make a U in it have it facing the way your drive and it will add more revs it’s like a mini turbo when your riding , my stock spree goes 40 and I didn’t big bore it or change gears belt or speed pully like everything is stock and it goes hella fast and it revs to the moon like where doge coin should be at 🚀
Did it work well? Or last?
So far the only issues I've had is 2ith the clutch on the stock spree engine. Other than that it runs fine no problems yet!
@@bmxcrazy360 what kit did you use? New top speed?
So what did you gain on it
I'd say about 10 but the clutch gave out
That's looking sweet
For 260$ you can't complain
Your clutch pads don't have any chunks missing, that's how the padding normally looks, however, your pads are fucked. Don't try finding a replacement clutch, just have your old one repadded and it will be better then new with the kevlar technique that JW Parts plus uses. You can find them here: www.jwpartsplus.com/jw-clutch-worx.html Also, I noticed that the clutch looks like it's been overheating. See how the metal around it is sort of a blue color? That happens when the clutch gets too hot. This was more then likely caused by the worn pads. Would not recommend you ride this bike again until you get that clutch repadded. I'm guessing you'll pick up another 5 or so mph when you do.
Appreciate the input i ended up finding a complete variated swap for it so I'm going to be doing that soon as I get some time
@@bmxcrazy360 Oh you'll like that. Adds way more power to a Spree then what you could ever get out of doing a BBK, Gears, pipe, carb, etc. Ends up being cheaper as well. Good luck and post some vids. I'll subscribe and stay on the look out for it.
Dude! I love it! Gotta know when the next update is. i might need to do something similar with my FA50
Sick
Yoyoyo.... did you do some of dat portin' and polishing squishy band port match high compression head thingy stuff to dat motor? Ooh wee, be pullin' wheelies when you do! Gnome-sayin'?
No i just threw the kit on. Wasn't really planning on keeping this engine too long anyways.
Wow this helped me out so much with my build!!
Sweet I just started the same thing, , should be a ripper
Hell yeah! Would love to see pics or videos of it !
Do you have link to big bore kit
I think the seller might be out? I just checked on my recent purchases in ebay and the item isn't there. This is the seller though but this is a stock top end kit from the same seller as the one I got my BBK from www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Spree-NQ50-41mm-Piston-Kit-stock-1984-1987-/224322576897?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
Cant stop staring at that watch .. wtf... now thats a clock son.. lol
Lmaoo it's a samsung active in case u wanted to know lol
@@bmxcrazy360 hahaaah.
Check your float level, seems like it is running way too rich. Also if gas is coming out the overflow you definitely have a float issue
How did you get the bottom nut and bolt on in the front with the lip that’s on the coilover?
Not sure I know what you're talking about. You able to explain that differently?
I got a clutch I could sell
The problem is the stock Spree intake is not big enough to handle a BBK. You can change out that carb all you want, you'll just be wasting your time. What you'll need to do is port the intake. The stock intake's opening is too small to allow proper flow from the venturi. When you have a small opening like the Spree, what this does is creates too much vacuum. You can think of sucking air through a straw .vs sucking air through an empty toiler paper tube. Anyways, when this vacuum is too tight, the fuel coming in from the carb (and it doesn't matter what carb) will run lean. Expect that piston to blow on you if you don't correct the issue. Fix that, and you SHOULD BE getting revs and HP somewhere close to mine: ua-cam.com/video/U1MUmUUJbbs/v-deo.html
That makes sense maybe I'll look at some intake upgrades or just port this one
That and the pipes get clogged. Stick a hand torch in both sides till it stops smoking. Then knock it around to let the carbon to fall out.
I put a big bore kit in and jet in the carb and it kept soft seizing. I never figured it out. Its weird to think an air restriction causes lean but if flow is restricted then so is air velocity?
Looking to do the same with my '87 NQ50! How's the paint held up?
Not too bad I'd say if it had a better clear coat on it it would be better because the spray can clear sometimes doesn't clean very well.
Ty for this video!!!!
You have intake issues, read my tutorial: hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34653
My spree is doing the same damn thing and the carb is new too. Was it coming from the drain of the carb?
Yeah I think the floater is what got stuck
Ever figure it out?
Something to do with the carb for the iddle issue but the other stuff was the clutch going out
Sand it all down
@@SchleighSimeon I tried that but it's still not gripping like it should
