Carnbooth House Hotel, Glasgow, Scotland - After The Fire
Lovely spot! Heading up that way myself next week (keeping one eye on the weather) Looking at my map, that's about a 20km walk from Stinchar bridge? Great video, looks a great place! Subbed!
Boy, I’ve slept in a few of these over the years and they are a lifesaver specially in the winter months boy which is most of the most of the trips that I’ve made if nearly always been in the winter and quite a few and the office they were fantastic and lifesaver
Candles on top of the stove?
really nice. I particularly like all the cars reversing over the bridge...🤣
At 0.29 just as you take the road winding to the left ......Jimmy Savilles old place on the right covered in graffitti......
This bothy looks safe it has a inside lock. So you can sleep without someone barge in. A compost toilet and a tap for water would be perfect.
Grear footage ❤🏴 Thanks for sharing Hope you're having a good week 😊
Stunning footage Thanks for sharing 😊 Just discovered your channel Liked and subscribed 😊 Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕
Where I live in Wales, it has outstanding beauty and awesome scenery but Glen Duror is amazing the colours are outstanding would like to visit with my camera one day
Spent a year in North Wales many years ago and have very fond memories. I am looking forward to visiting again, hopefully this year, for some hiking and camping. 🏕️
nice
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your support. 👍
wow Scotland
I couldn’t agree more. 👌
Nice footage. I was up there today and not quite as bad as when you were there. Still needed crampons (and ice axe for The Ptarmigan side).
@leslietennant1 you had a pretty good day for it then I think. I don’t know if you realise but our paths have crossed before. My memory is terrible so I don’t remember specifics but I think it was out with the guys from the Renfrewshire Rodeo and the route involved a ferry on the way home. 🚴♂️
Wow!! Breathtaking views. Great job on the video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks you very much! 👍
Beautiful video scenes 🙂👍
Thanks very much my friend! 👍
@@OutdoorsColin 👍
Nice one, mate, a good one to do in the snow.
Thanks for the support Paul, it’s much appreciated. 👍
Lovely video and a great area.
Glad you enjoyed it. Have you been Paul?
I've been around that area several times, but not the bothy it's on my list.
That was a beautiful hike out to the bothy. I don't know if you carry a folding lightweight handsaw but I think I would unless the fallen trees break easy with your foot. It's a great place to meet random people from different walks of life too. Poor Floyd looked shattered, but he got there. Thanks for sharing. Another great video.
Thanks Chris. Yes, I have an army surplus folding saw which was really handy at Cadderlie as the bothy had no saw. The other guy who was there had an axe which was ideal for producing some vital kindling as everything was soaking wet. 👍
Glad you’re drone survived, you were lucky it was close by and not over the cliffs! We were up here last January, had stunning clear views and amazing views. Sadly it was before I’d invested in my drone 😊
Glad you guys had it clear on the summit 👌 The drones are a great piece of kit, I’m really thankful I didn’t lose it. 😅
Hi, the landscape in Scotland is so beautiful and interesting. Another great video. Thanks. Greetings Alex and Alex
Thanks again guys! Where are you guys based? @AlexUNDAlex
Nice hike😁 Great looking bothy! Happy New Year 🥳🎉🎊
@agesadventures thank you very much my friend. Happy New Year to you too, all the best to you and your channel for 2024! 🥳
Hi, wonderful winter hike. Spectacular drone footage. Too bad about the drone. We really like the landscape and the always great views. Great video. We wish you a great year 2024. Greetings Alex and Alex
@AlexUNDAlex thanks for watching, it’s much appreciated. All the very best to you guys for 2024! 👍
Hardly lost if youtubers keep promoting such places. Don't understand the narcissistic mentality that people have to film everything they do and publish it. The algorithms then push this stuff far and wide. Native civilisations used to say the camera stole their souls and maybe in a way they were right the way now social media has ended up.
Hi @mattwright2964, it’s just a bit of fun my friend. Watching this type of video rekindled my interest in the outdoors and I’m having a great time getting out and about and sharing my experiences. I’m sure plenty of people think I’m a bit of a plonker and who could blame them 😆 but I’ve had enough positive feedback to encourage me to continue to produce this content. I wish you all the best for 2024 Matt and hope that you find peace in the new year ahead.
Amazing 👌 we are planning to go up Ben Lomond tomorrow 🫣 hopefully it's not too slippy 🙈 Glad you got your drone working 😁
Thanks for watching. I found the last few hundred meters of the path up to the snow line to be sheet ice. Hopefully you will have favourable conditions and a great hike tomorrow. 🤞
Id love to be able to travel and see places like this, it loos so peaceful and quiet, and the view must be amazing <3
@oddartist3767 thank you for watching. One of the reasons I make these videos is so that people like yourself can share in my adventures. Hopefully you will get to have your own adventures at some point. 🤞
@@OutdoorsColin workin on it ^^ i cant wait to see what other adventures ya go on
So beautiful, poor drone falling in the snow
Thankfully the drone is fine. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Lisa, it’s much appreciated! 👍
fantastic wee adventure, the winter skies are just incredible, somebody asked me about whether my video was morning or evening and i had to tell him this was midday in scotland hehehe. so the drone, amazing shots by the way, when these batteries get cold they loose the top end of their amp output, voltage drops, and we get a thing called a brown out, the voltage is too low to operate all the processors and stuff, dji should warn you though? anyway, its best to keep the drone and battery especially as warm as possible, in winter i literally use a hot water bottle, (fanta bottle inside a sock) then when you take off its probably best to do a few higher power things to get the battery giving off heat. that said, short of a fur coat, wind chill will always win,
Thanks for watching and thanks for the good advice. 👍
Can u give us, miles into bothy, maybe some of the walk out
If you take the Auchindarroch turn off of the A828 and park in the forestry commission car park, you only have a 2 mile easy walk in. Just don’t miss the big bolders where you leave the forestry track like I did 🤦♂️
That looks like quite the hike! Glad the drone is ok😀
Thanks Age. Was pretty lucky to even find the drone and then couldn’t believe it was undamaged. 👍
@@OutdoorsColin they can be really tough sometimes! I crashed mine into a hillside at full speed when I misjudged its altitude. I just had to replace some props and shake sand out of the motors and all good😃
So FAROUT!!! Great job with great views!!
Yes! Thank you! 👍
@@OutdoorsColin cheers!
Beautiful hike but looked desolate and cold up top. But you can't beat a nice Trig. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris. It’s amazing the difference a couple of hundred feet can make to the conditions.
Pleased for the drone good hike beautiful veiws
Thanks for taking the time Butchy!
Always mate love Glen coe can't wait to get up there 2024 now but I will get there want to do a camp right where you were lol
@@Butchyboysadventures it’s the perfect spot mate, I’ll be heading back there again myself. I’ll look out for you 😂
Wowww crazy shots !
Thanks for watching @caitlinrudolph2234 👍
Good stuff what a place ❤
👍
I've always wondered how they got the stones in. Thanks for sharing.
Must be costing a few quid 😳
That's pretty cool to see😁
You certainly don’t see that everyday Age, so thought I would record some of it.
Great footage 👏
Thanks 👍
Very good and stable drone flight. Interesting shots. Great film editing. Good job. Greetings from Poland. I subscribe.
Thanks for taking the time my friend, I appreciate your support. 👍
Great video 🎉 love this man, The Myth, The Legend ! ❤❤❤
Thanks for coming along! 👍
What a shame!
@kevingouldrup9265 surely there was a better course of action. 🤷♂️
Il n'y a pas de quoi être fier de montrer cette ruine. Surtout avec le recul des photos anciennes.
I don’t think anybody could be proud of this travesty.
That drive down Glen coe brought some memories back
@atrampinthehills.841 sounds like you should be planning a revisit. 👍
Great video, I plan on staying here on Friday, this video really helped plan it. Cheers mate.
You’re welcome. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Might look quite different in the snow on Friday. Hope you have a good time! I’d be interested in footage you take when you are up.
I enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. I usually camp outside bothies as the mice are always outwitting me.
Thanks for taking the time and for your kind words, it’s much appreciated.
Wow! Nature certainly is reclaiming it.
Hard to understand why they would just take the roof off and allow it to decay.
@@OutdoorsColin yeah, I wonder how much the taxes were with the roof on because it must have cost a bit to remove it.
Scotland! Super! bbeautiful channel. bye~ 🌟
Thanks for visiting
Superb Colin, been aong time since I was last there, hasnae changed a bit, even down to the rain 🤣 Am I right that the drone shots after you break camp are in reverse, looks like the water is going up hill, great footage another quality job 👏 👏
Well spotted Ewan, if you look closely at one point you can see a girl walking backwards up the trail 😂. In hindsight I should have flown the drone in the opposite direction as I think having it descending made more sense telling the story. Thanks for the support mate. 👍
A beautiful little Bothy and a great place to spend the night. Loved the drone footage. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Chris, thanks for taking the time. 👍
Very informative and great views you cant beat a bothy night at this time of year.
Hard to imagine what it would have been like to have lived there permanently, 300 years ago.
That looks like a great place, Colin! I love the bothy and the views from the drone were awesome😁
Glad you enjoyed it
Nothing takes the place of a camping and staying in a cottage in the wilderness! Thanks for sharing!
I agree 👍. Can’t wait to get back out, especially now the snow is here!
