Nice video. Landscapes looks nice - so much wide space, freedom feeling. If you shoot from the car as you do it at 10:40, the picture will be affected by warm air from the car. Even your father's pictures will be affected by the warm air.
thank you, that is true, didnt think of it at the time. Still got some good pictures that I'm happy with though :)
I liked your bird images and videos. good job.
such a lovely trip with your dad, my dad would have loved one of those off road scooters to go bird watching. I did spot the mosquito buzzing around you early on and thought you. were being very self controlled, then later you had your net on......and so many flying around and feasting on you. Certainly hope you didn't get too many bad bites. I have started using one of those Flextail devices, was sceptical at first but it does seem to work. I don't like chemicals etc but sometimes it is necessary. It takes a while to get delivered but if you are going to have plague proportions again on a trip you might consider one. check them out at least. Back to the Plovers, they are truly amazing birds, we have 1000's over herre in the UK in the autumn/winter and they truly are a sight especially when they are bathed in the low sun, the Golden Plover definitely becomes golden. I would love to see one in breeding plumage in real life though, just like the phalarope and so many other species that only hit our shores in non-breeding season. Another lovely video, thank you
@@Sarah-g6k thank you for the lovely comment! I will keep ur tip in mind. My problem is that I often forget to think of mosquitos... I was lucky that we had nets this time :)
Nice photos. Where is the camera settings? 😀 Love to see that

Very nice TJ, very nice
Great great pictures, really, always with a gorgeous out-of-focus back/foreground and a nice composition. And it's so cool to see you captured all this beauty while spending a day with your father.
Thank you, thank you! It was a nice family trip to Hardangervidda. We will definitely do this sort of trip again :D
Very cool
Beautiful images , I hope I can achieve something close to as good as yours with my new RF 400. Regards Andy

In Iceland, puffins are a delicacy. At least if you like that sort of bird. They’re basically a pimped up chicken.

The right combination of music and atmosphere
That Olympus set-up is really good. Very impressed.
I loved watching your video, it was very relaxing, especially your video of the birds. Your videos are really well put together, the clip, the music, the atmosphere...
@@daysofgrace2934 thank you! This video was made over 2years ago, hope I have approved over this period of time :)
I shoot OM system and for sure it is not as good as your own set up. But I think a couple of points are important when it comes to this comparison. 1. You mention that the entire OM setup is the same price as the Canon R5 alone. What is more is that the lens is 15k USD at my last check. Correct me if I saw the wrong lens. 2. The weight is significantly different. Without a tripod carrying 5+ kg is really tough for most people. My point is that since 99% of us on UA-cam are amateurs who will never blow our pictures up on a big print and sell them, then the OM system is more than enough for what we need. And it is amazing that this OM setup is even comparable to the Canon setup when you factor in the price :)
1. OM1 + Olympus 300mm f4, the retail price in Norway 2 years ago was around 450USD. The retail for the Canon r5 at the same time was around 480 USD. 2. I commented on the weight, and how much lighter the OM combo is. Don't feel like I need to mention every single detail. There are loads of videos on UA-cam that cover the technical specs and differences. This is not a full review, it was mostly to check new bird AI AF on the OM system and compare it against the Canon R5. Rest was just additional stuff I felt was worth bringing up while making the video. The reason why I compared these two brands, was because I owned the R5, and my father owned the OM1.
Nice view in norway
Great Video Thank you for sharing The RF400 is my bucket lens; mostly for the same reasons you outlined. I also use the R5ii for crop ability when needed.
thats so amazing 😮😮
Helpful video! Thanks. As a side note, what is the track starting at 6:45?
Thanks for the video. What image stabilization did you use? In lens or in body?
Hi, lens when it comes to OM lens, and both lens and body when it comes to Lumix lens.
Great video! I like that you showed plenty of actual content for me to judge on my own. How in the world did you get the heron eating the fish with no motion blur at 1/640th? ...might be a species thing, i had to use 1/1250 on a snowy egret doing the same
Thank you! I think its luck that the fish is sharp, and that the angle helps out, seeing the birds head is angled a little away from me to the side.
@@TJPhotography it is an interesting angle as well. Very well done! Still mind-blowingly sharp given the circumstance
Could I ask you in some of important decision? Would you switch Sony A7-IV and 200-600 f6.3, to a OM-1 150-400 tc? I barely record videos, I lack of focal range, though I can say videos are really high quality and I like colours from the camera. Previously I was using A6400, and I can say I thought about A6700, but from a long time I convince myself into OM-1 mark II and 150-400 tc + additional x1.4 TC/x2.0 TC. I thought also about your new equipment in the past, but I think the combination costs would be much higher, than my expectations. I don't want to invest into 600 mm f6.3 from Nikon or 400 mm f4.5 so I would be interested only about 800 mm f6.3 base + x1.4 TC.. Also worth to notice, I was upset on high iso from A6400, but let's say it's old camera, I expect OM-1 mark II to be much better at 6400 / 8000 max ISO (no more is acceptable for myself). I don't know if switching to OM-1 mark II and 150-400 would be from your perspective now a downgrade or upgrade? I love to hike while doing photography. Sitting in one place is definitely not for me (sure, I can sit for 15-20 minutes and wait, but lets be honest long hours are not my destination). I also take into consideration a weathersealing, in which OM System shines, but I don't think something like Z8 + 800 mm f6.3 would be damaged by more than light rain.. Lastly, I like mornings and sunsets. The combination of these is so hard for me to say, but you were there and there. If you could help, thank you in advance! 🙏🙏
Hi, thank you for reaching out. Camera choices these days, I think, is more up to what you like, and feel comfy with using. All brands are good, and some shine more then others in spesific genres. Saying that, and reading ur comment, I think still Sony A7 iv is the best camera for ur interest. If you didnt like the noise from A6400, then you wont like the iso noise from MFT-cameras. And Z8+800mm is a good choice, its a bigger and better camera, and the lens is unqiue compared to other brands, but the change as a big pricetag. So I think still Sony a7iv is a great camera, good MP sensor, with really good low-light performence. So rather use the money on a good Sony pro lens, then change system. But this is just my opinion from reading ur comment. If u want to change system, i think you will not regret that either, just keep in mind that the different brands have different strengths in certain fields.
@@TJPhotography Something deeply says "don't change system". I don't shoot wildlife for a month to know today there will be not much difference, but there is a point of view like yours, when you could at least hold the gear to feel if it's comfortable, when you got hours or days to try it out. I know weaknesses of A6400, but I expect newer sensors to be better at the same noise performance. Minimaly as there is physics behind that, but probably will be visible (let's say OM-1 vs EM-1 mark III, that's for me a very visible and noticible differnce at ISO 6400). You consider not changing the system, I also though about 300 mm f2.8 GM, in which I could have 3 different options for 3 different situations, but in all of that, I deeply know I need those "mm" in some situations. I could dive A6700 + 300 mm gm + 2x TC and stay at 900 mm f5.6 (f8.0 dof) and 26 mpx, but then the problem is sensor, I would like to have a stacked sensor. I don't expect this from A7-V, I really don't. Sony delays those "features" for the flagship and A9 models, as same as "pre-capture". MAYBE this thing will be in A7-V as they want to increase fps, so.. but surely not a stacked sensor yet in entry level cameras. The choice is so hard, and expensive, but yeah.. I am not like whining about A7-IV and 200-600, but it is really front heavy on the wrists, it's uncomfortable lens, taking all of fun, and limiting me by focal range. Other than that it's super camera, but as I said, having something like pre-capture, great fps burs and maybe focus bracketing option, would be ideal for me, and in some way only OM-1 is completed (except high megapixels count, and much worse video capabilities). Really hard choice. I wish someone in area would have it to test and even hold in hands, but it's rather hard. PS: Overall I am really happy of A7-IV but it's uncompleted camera, maybe changing on A7-V would make me finally at least in 80% completed.
Thanks for that video. I was curious about how OM1 and OM5 would perform. It was really nice to watch, great work!
@@silvy0991 thank you! Glad you liked it :)
ciao in che periodo hai fotografato i Puffin?? grazie mille e complimenti..
I am really curious to know what made you switch from OM-System 150-400 to the Nikon 800 PF… maybe in your next video.
It's a bundle of different reasons. But it does include the typical topics like; higher-end camera, 45mp FF stacked sensor, better bokeh, 120fps 4k video, and higher resolution video etc. I still use MFT, but not for bird photography anymore, maybe if OM5 II or Pen-F II comes with Bird AI AF, I might get that for longer travel and/or hiking bird photography :)
Do you still have the om-1?
I still got OM system, but the OM-1 is sold :(
Beautiful captures and colours ❤
