I want to buy one of these in about 5/6 years,....I really hope the reliability isn't as bad as the rumors make it out to be. If so,...I'm left thinking for the price of these cars...WTF are they doing/who are they hiring and who's running this companies engineering, design, and quality control department so poorly?

Thanks. It's interesting to see that your L405 has a space-saver spare. The North American spec with the trailer towing package has a full size spare. Ie. Impossible to lift out of the tire well while bent over the tailgate.

I was going to say keep the car, the bike is part of your past when you wanted to ride it around the world. But there seems to be quite a few team keep the bike. Really you need to decide how often you will ride it. Also it would appear to me that motorbikes are better when going for a ride with mates. So is there a group you could go out riding with, or friends, or would you be going out for a ride by yourself when you have time. IE potentially not very often at all.

Obviously you should get the bike. You're away from the city, so you should be safe enough. I built a 6 string fretless bass with my uncle, and sold it to buy a Neo Geo. I played the Neo (and still have it) a lot more than I would have played the bass, but I still wish I could find it and buy it back. For projects, I've been lucky that I've been able to finish pretty much all the projects I've started, but I'm obsessive and do them one at a time (mostly) so I can't rest until they're done. Plus I often record them and put them up for others to learn from. Sometimes I have to go back and watch my own tutorials, because I've forgotten how to do the thing. 🤪

If you can afford it to buy this bike back, you should do it. The way you talk about it and the looks on your face tell the story. I think you would be sorry if you didn't go for it.

The dream, memories and emotions are what you are attached to not the bike. If plan to carry out your dream then get the bike. If not, let the bike go because you have the memories and emotions to last for a lifetime.

Phill, now that I'm 70, I'll tell you, you can't go back, smile and ponder on those old " what could have been" memories. That's not a touring bike. Wait and get the real deal. A Harley that will save your back and bottom. Cause if it was ment to BE it would have been THEN. Its not for the now

I have an '06 Honda 599 and used it as my daily driver in the summer months until I retired. Yesterday. I had to go to my daughter's house in a village about 20 ish minutes away . Riding along a nice quiet twisty road to her house was just bliss. I could have gone on the highway/motorway and been there sooner but it was a nice day, not too hot, little traffic just bliss. Never regret a road not taken, enjoy the path you have chosen, each path will lead to an adventure. If you want the bike back buy it, if you don't then don't buy it, the paths are there for you to choose not us.

Understand completely BUT priority should be equipment to maintain the chateau nest pas? You have a Maserati, an elec. bike, a Land Rover, and a bar! Sais Bon!

Phil GET IT BACK!! My lovely brother just turned 88 and over the last few years had sold bikes he had restored. Came the time he had none left. He was lost soooo he bought back a 1950 s Bantam. Even if he can’t work on it anymore he can dust and stroke it. Only a bike lover could understand.❤️❤️👏👏please Phil get it, how would you feel if someone drove it out of your life?😫😫

My son-in-law lost his leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident about 10 years ago, today he was out riding the same motorcycle...because he absolutely loves riding. GET THE BIKE!!! You won't regret getting it, but you will regret not getting it. I hope the Maserati got sorted out.

So BUY BUY BUY your bike back... then you can still go out for blats out on her to clear your head and to also take your lovely wife out too.... oh and BUY a brand new helmet.... your old one from when you had your bike all them years ago, must now be replaced. We used to ride, me on the back of a Harley with my husband. He had a stroke and then this last December he passed. We were married 44 years on Thanksgiving. I miss riding and get emotional still when I see a group of Harley’s go by. I can’t ride by myself, as I am 5’2” . Buy the bike, life is too short to not do the things that make you happy and stir memories.

BIKE ✅ and the open road. I'd go nuts without my ATV & mountain trails, but that's just me. Also, I'd lighten the load so I could focus more attention on less in need. Cheers to whatever you decide, Phil. 🥤

Buy the bike back Phil…you know in your heart you want it! 😉 There is nothing quite like going for a ride to clear the head and lift the spirits…and my lord she does look so pretty restored and nobody is going to appreciate her as much as you do! Between you & your friend you did an amazing job bringing the bike back to life which is great for the value….and just think how much joy you will have every time you steal a bit of time to take off for a ride that feeling never gets old! *Shed full of restored bikes (and several future projects) here that makes me sure that telling you it is well worth letting yourself have that pleasure and you won’t regret it is the right thing to do* 🏍️

O Phil.. we are bikers for more than 50 years now. We've got two Laverda's in our shed, in parts.... My husband has a Laverda 1000 and I have a Laverda 750SF2 with SFC pipes. We still ride, my husband have a Triumph Sprint RS and I have a Kawasaki GPZ 500S. I'm an ivalid, but still can ride somethimes. We would've love to have our Laverda's back on the road again, but the restauration will cost us at least 30.000 euro! Witch we don't have and... I'm not in the condition to ride my beloved Laverda again. Lucky enough We have two sons and they are also bikers (our youngest is a racer!) and they will inherent our so beloved bikes when we are gone... so... buy your bike back!! You'll ever be sorry when you didn't! Do it!! 💋❤

Haven't ridden in many years now but I do remember the feel of the Harley on the road and the wind in my hair. Sometimes I wish for the open road again but I am older now and too many people on the roads. Do what your heart tells you to do Phil. Have a wonderful ride

Not sure if you should buy it back. If it's the memories of your married life then probably not. If you enjoy riding it and can get the use out of it then yes. I sold my 1989 Volvo 240 GLT estate in 2018 and often say, if I found it for sale again would buy it back. It was reliable but the reason I sold it was wasn't using it and heater fan dead, so virtually nill cabin heat to demist, used the heated front seats. Test drove a Volvo 940 LPT that was so much more quiet with ABS and Aircon option and more spacious and split folding seats. Nice to have the 10 year attachment to a car but sometimes it's time to move on.
