    Speaking of quality..people have been complaining on the new ml17xp1 how they make too much noise..and its because they cage of the condenser all that aluminum is hollow..theres nothing you can do about it itll flap no matter what..however carrier units still seam rigid because they aluminum they are using is heavier..if ford is making less quality trucks so are these aluminum condensers..copper is very soft nowadays no need for a tube bender

    The shade pole under coil is broken. You can change your power supply vdc to dc. Make sure cut voltage roughly in half. Ie. 24 vac to 12 dc, etc. then try to find a minimal current which can activate the valve or introduce a resistance to reduce the current

      Have to check everything now adays. I found the other day an Ipak with bolted 150amp fuses for the supply fan in the main control cabinet. Found L2 and L3 terminal lugs were cross threaded so bad. The actual bolts weren't tight and I could spin the washers with my finger. Also found red wire nuts used inside the pecker head for 4awg wire lol. Factory must be giving it the all clear at 2pm on a Friday.

      This was part of a quoted job for work to essentially give old equipment new warranty since they did not go for a chiller replacement. They have 4 400ton air cooled chillers for this stadium and all from 1998. We did 4 new compressors, all original fan motors replaced, new EEVs and wiring/modules, all new pressure transducers and switches, filters,etc. One ckt had a comp burnout so that one got virgin r22, other ckt just got what we pulled out which was the factory charge. New stadium will be built at some point so this is just to help make it till then.

    If whoever rewired the contactor had put the safeties wire on the brown wire side instead of the wire going to t1, they would have had to stick around and find out why the fuse protecting the low voltage control blew. As it turned out, they just disabled the defrost cycle, and made their getaway. Nice catch. You had it earlier when you tested t1 and got zero volts with contactor energized. t1 is an input terminal and gets its voltage from jumper from contactor coil 24 volt side. Tells the logic that compressor is running, which starts the timing if defrost tstat is below thirty degrees. They had it hooked up to common side.

    Lennox today is not the same as the Lennox of the 20th century. Their quality significantly declined in the late 2000’s, and it never was the same. Lennox used to be one of the finest brands of HVAC. Not anymore. This leaking condenser with an LG scroll= absolute garbage!!

      @@dmvhvactech just had an HVAC tech come out to determine why my outdoor unit wouldn't come on. Low pressure fault. Puts nitrogen in the system you can immediately hear the leak. Outdoor TXV had a weak weld from the factory. Shoddy work by Lennox. System is less than 2 years old. Part is under warranty but labor and all that refrigerant 410A is not. So expensive repair. Lennox should be responsible for it. When it's time to replace in hopefully 10-15 years, I am not going with a Lennox. Thanks for the video. I thought TXVs were mostly indoor? Or are there 2. I am not an HVAC tech but I want to sound somewhat knowledgeable when speaking with the tech coming out on Monday.

    • @dmvhvactech
      @dmvhvactech Рік тому

      @@willmann81785 Sorry about your unit, typical straight ac systems have one metering device before the evaporator. A heat pump system in cooling mode works the same, has a metering device before refrigerant enters the evaporator. A heat pump running in heat mode the outdoor coil is now your evaporator absorbing heat from the outside air. Some units use a txv as that metering device, some use fixed orifice.

    • @DJV94022
      @DJV94022 6 місяців тому

      @@willmann81785yes in heat pumps stock from factory has 2 txvs atleast for lennox (1 indoor and 1 for outdoor) The one for outdoor is pretty much to manipulate the system In cars your car will have 1 txv When you hit that ac button thats what will give you a/c For heating ina car its a seperate mini radiator inside the cabin that tees off from radiator hoses or thermostat housing .. So in heating mode for houses The indoor unit becomes the radiator And the outside unit becomes the a/c which is funny because youre giving the cold outdoors a/c but thats where technology steps in with defrost mode (not going to explain that) but thats what makez these systems $10k

      honestly if I remember right I wasn't getting full 28volts on R, I found a bad wire nut at the ahu. Once I remade that connection it went right into defrost since I never went back there.
