for Angel Dust, I have seen MANY people talk about his SA rep and how being overly sexual is a coping mechanism many can relate to and many think he is good rep. But unfortunately, a LOT more people seem to see it as offensive, cringe, and/or playing into gay stereotypes. Angel Dust is only good if you look at him through VERY specific lens from a very specific angle and that isn't how art works, everyone is gonna have unique views and they aren't always going to align with how you want to view them. Yes, a few people get your point and think it's good Vivzie, what about the massive chunk of people who don;t and find it offensive? As for Alastor, he was majorly hyped up in the Pilot (which is canon and on UA-cam, it much better introduces the characters imo) and the entire second half is just Alastor coming in to make the deal with Charlie, there are much more sound effects and charm as many people say there which they feel is lacking in the show. He is clearly meant to be a Faustian demon here to make a deal with Charlie to fuck over the hotel later but there are a few issues: 1. The Bill Cipher comparison, everyone compared him to Bill as well but here is the difference between the two: Bill is the main villain of a show about weird mysteries and he rarely shows up. He is given a sense of dread and is actually allowed to act on his super chaos good dream demon powers. Him being a villain also gives him those breakdowns you like. Alastor However is on the main characters' side and is a constant presence. So you can't just give him some random stuff to throw his power at unless you want a very disposable setting. So the show basically just has him go "oooh, look at how scary and mysterious I am". 2. The Power Tiers. In the world of Hazbin/Helluva, collectively known as the Hellaverse, there is a tier list of specific types of demons. From weakest to strongest (and therefore lowest to highest in Hell's authority) it goes Imps/Hellhounds -> regular Hellborn (like Succubi) -> Sinners -> Overlords -> The Ars Goetia (royal demons) -> The Seven Sins (who rule each of the seven rings, Hazbin only takes place in Pride) -> Charlie -> Lilith -> Lucifer. Alastor is an Overlord, supposedly the strongest Overlord based on Vaggie's description in the Pilot of being one of the most powerful beings Hell has ever seen and taking out Overlords who have been dominant for centuries. BUT, A. we have Charlie who is 3 tiers above him in power so she should be able to crush Alastor she just sucks at fighting and is too nice, and B. as the shows went on, especially Helluva, we were introduced to so many characters that were at and above Alastor in power. So Alastor has been getting hit with Fraud allegations ever since the end of S1 where Adam, who is the leader of the Exorcists who are stronger than Sinners, basically two shots him the second he actually starts trying.

Tbh huge props to you for giving it a shot! I will admit I am a big fan of the show but I understand it's not flawless and tbh, it taught me a lot on what to and what not to do with my own story I've been writing! Also nice to hear you like the music!!! Great video!!!

Listen, there’s a lot of flaws with the writing on Angel Dust. If his character is not your cup of tea, that’s one thing, but you don’t have to make things up about his character being one note. The hotel is not subtle, for better or worse, and there’s present development that Angel undergoes. It’s rushed, but it happens.

I've been following the development of this game for about a year and a half, as such it has been my most anticipated release this year and playing through it was such a BLAST! (pun fully intended)

The only way I'd like Angel Dust is in season 2 they made him less sexual. He opens up to Husk about why he's always so hypersexual to the point of making everyone uncomfortable. It's a huge character flaw he has, not that having flawed characters is wrong, but a character needs character development. If in season 2 he doesn't dial it back and actually respect Husk's boundaries, then there's not a lot to like about this character just because he's "aww sad boi who's being abused in the sex industry". There should be more to him

Oh, I cant believe that you hate on Alastors lack of emotions throuout the show, and than you you dont mention his breakdown in the finaly song. That was an excellent case of him showing emotions throu his smile. That was unfair

I feel like the people in this chat has never seen hazbin hitel in there life. Also i hope you know they intentionally made them sound childish right? The reason the vees sound childish is because THEY ARE. Even though he's TRYING key word TRYING to be intimidating, they are actually quite nervous and don't know how to approach everything. So yes it actually does make since. While i agree the writing isn't as good as you'd expect, you can't be perfect at anything. Also adam is just very cocky....😒 Also the fact that half if this video is focused around the vees shows you don't actually hate the show,just the character.

29:15 Not done with video yet, but I wanna interject that I’m pretty sure Charlie and Lucifer are both meant to have clown elements. Hell is supposed to have some circus theming going on, with Lucifer being the literal main ‘ring leader’ of the rings of hell. I agree that the goat themes could have gone harder though. Also for design shit, I think they could totally keep Alastor’s permanent smile, but when he’s freaking the fuck out, why not make his hair stand on end, make his ears pin back and then prick up as people approach. Make him move in jerkier, more alert motions. Use those animal characteristics the characters already have. That’s like the best part of giving them animal characteristics!

This game is something else, its literally overflowing with personality. There was multiple times where i thought “this is gonna be the best level” then found a new favourite level instantly. The mines, mall, and devilled gardens have to be my favourites but theyre all great (except pinball mire)

40:53 I know I’m late to the party but I just want to add to this point. In my opinion, a good example of a very edgy antagonist that doesn’t completely break immersion would be Cyn from Murder Drones. I’ll refrain from spoiling too much but, throughout the series it’s made clear that Cyn, similar to Bill Cipher, is taken seriously by the world around her, but could not care less about that world. This is made clear by her very nonchalant and sometimes playful dialogue, spoken with a fittingly robotic voice. It’s not that she, or it, never reacts, but she is quick to recover. Her momentary reactions make her feel grounded while her quick turn around uphold a sense of apathy. I think what makes Cyn work the most, and come off as truly threatening is the depths to which she truly does not care. The audience is given a glimpse into how much she knows about some of the heroes, making it clear that she is fully aware of the emotions they feel. How does she react? By playing on those same emotions at every opportunity she gets. Diving into vague spoilers: This is also what makes her defeat all the more fitting. She cares so little about the heroes that she views them and their emotions as play things. Though she likely could’ve taken a far more convenient route, she chose the path that would mess with the protagonists the most. In other words, for as much as she doesn’t care about the heroes, she also enjoys playing with them, purposefully making a spectacle whenever she gets close to killing any of the main characters or someone close to them. She even says herself that she enjoys the way the characters surprise her sometimes, but she fails to consider just how surprising they can be. In the end, the world was right to take her seriously, and Cyn was wrong not to take them seriously enough. Anyways, just had to gush about my fav show rq, I’ve been on such a kick with it lately and I really do admire how they manage to make what could easily be a middle-schooler’s angsty wet dream still work as a genuine threat through both characterization and the context of the story. Hell, her final design (or final form if you will) is the epitome of edge, but it works because there is actual reasoning behind it, especially when you consider it from the perspective of her preferring the most manipulative route. That and it doesn’t include an unnecessary amount of detail.

Ngl I only like 2 characters. Mah baybee Sir Pentious (no clue how to spell his name) and Lucifer. Alistor is okay in my opinion, he’s a cool concept… but the back of his head… Oml I CRIED when I saw it 😭 why did they do that. Why did they give the 2018 Gacha life bad boy an undercut 😭😭😭💔💔💔 everyone else I despise, they’re all bad, hate them so much. Husker had potential, honestly shrink down the wings and make him fat. That’s all they needed to do. And the back of that boys head… omfg I HATE ALISTORS UNDERCUT 😭

Please, watch Helluva Boss, I'm really curious about your thoughts about it. I'm not saying you might like it, especially if you didn't like hazbin but I think it's a little different and more mature (on the emotional lvl not writing lvl xd), and in compassion to Hazbin from the start no one is telling you is serious show and everybody are stupid at start

Only 12 real stages is pretty short for a game like this. Only 19 if you count all the bosses and minibosses. I am liking it so far but definetly feels bit barron

The scream button IS useful. You need something to vent out that pent up frustration during the hard bossfights.

Absolutely hate the overreliance on swearing in this show, and you perfectly described it with the salt/seasoning thing. If your 'mature' show has swear words in like every few minutes, then it come across as immature, don't ya think? And the worst part is how it was so encouraged that Amazon prime even made a promotional video revolving of how much the cast can swear.
