    So I am also getting an evap leak code and I looked and that same hose is cracked for me too. What part do I order to replace it? Sincerely, a girl who knows the bare minimum about car maintanence but is broke and wants to try to fix it myself.

    • @MrJoystickboy

      Bring the broken one into a auto parts store they can match it up for you. I actually had the same diameter hose on hand so I used that and it worked like a charm. I think if you order the part it’s only $20 from rock auto

      Check the connections first. See if the battery has power. Sometimes switches are just bad, I’d connect the place you purchased it from most likely still under warranty and they will send out a new switch I bet. Good luck.

    To gain access to this bolt....you CAN use a 19 mm socket on the CRANK pulley and slowly turn that ( belt still attached) to have the PS pulley move to the correct position. Caution....there is also a TOP bolt on a pivot arm, for the PS pulley....

  • @hitmanbangspiedpipersledme999

    Does this come with check engine, stability control and trac lights lit cuz that’s what mine did. They all lit up at the same time and haven’t quit since. That’s when the evap leak codes were showing too.

    • @MrJoystickboy

      The small hose at the top with the S shaped bend in it. Hose cracks over time in the bend causing EVAP leak.

    I had the exact same thing but underneath something I could not see. Used a smoke generator, found the leak, duct tape and fixed same way. I made the smoke generator with pickle jar, cheapest soldering iron from harbor freight, old rag, mineral oil, and old bicycle tire tube valve, and valve pump. Good to know there is something similar on other like Xbs.

    Was it chugging like it wasn't getting fire on one of the cylinders? I've replaced the plugs, coils and injectors now with the same issue still present.

    • @MrJoystickboy
      @MrJoystickboy 2 роки тому

      No it was not chugging just kept getting the error code and the cars computer would shut off the VSC and the check engine light. The only thing I noticed was the fuel economy was not as good. So far the error code has not appeared since I found that leak in purge valve hose.

    • @MrJoystickboy
      @MrJoystickboy 2 роки тому

      I think because the leak was at the bend in hose it was not always leaking. I bet if you have a constant leak you would have power loss and it feel as if not all cylinders are firing. Check all the hoses and the ones under car in the rear by gas tank.

    Thanks for the video. The C-clamp trick at 7:00 is very good to know. The alternators have sleeves inside the bolt hole that were not spaced correctly on my new oem alternator, just as yours were not spaced correctly. I didn't have a clamp with me when mine failed, so I used a file to shave down the sleeves until it fit back in. A C-clamp would have been the preferred way!
