Control Adobe Audition with Allen & Heath SQ console
This is a tutorial on how to have the Allen & Heath SQ console faders control 24 faders of Adobe Audition DAW.
One thing I forgot to mention in this video is that you have to set up MIDI faders in one of your layers of the SQ to control the Audition DAW faders. I did that in the LV1 video I made before.

In this followup to the video I made last week: ua-cam.com/video/Nn95TtyWdYQ/v-deo.html I showed how I set up an SQ6 with the newly released Waves Soundgrid Studio V11 and have it be completely controllable from the SQ6. Ingredients needed: 1 - Allen & Heath SQ console 1 - Allen & Heath SQ Waves card 1 - Soundgrid server 1 - Waves Soundgrid Studio 16,32, or 64 license and install Optional: Digi...

In this video, I showed how I set up an SQ6 with an LV1-32 and have the LV1 be completely controllable from the SQ6. Ingredients needed: 1 - Allen & Heath SQ console 1 - Allen & Heath SQ Waves card 1 - Soundgrid server 1 - Waves LV1 license and install optional: Digigrid MGB, but you can do this with all Allen&Heath stageboxes. I forgot to include these settings from LV1 Setup - Controls which ...

Haniel estuve mirando el vídeo de como trabajar lv1 sobre sq6 Pero me controla solo el fader 7 de lv1 sobré todos los fader de sq. Me puede hacer el favor de como configurarlo como lo tiene en el vídeo
Can you do the same thing using a Dm7 compact through Dante. Meaning using the 72 from Yamaha and the 48 from sq6? I’m asking cause I have an sq6 but want to invest in the dm7c, cause I like the fact that it has amazing capability with dca’s and groups and it has Yamaha reliability
Hola puede actualizar el tutoríal? Cómo hacer el ruteo de lv1 con sq ? Qué ingredientes necesitas? Mucha gracias
Hi Daniel. Are you still using this setup? Lessons learned? Any advancements? New plans/ideas from this foundation?
Thank you for this amazing video..
Hi ..Nice for sharing......with presonus studiolive 32sx is possible to used like that ???
I don't think so. If the DAW mode would allow You to use it that way and You'll need a waves server.
Silly question... I want to start using Waves plugins. If I get the Waves card for the SQ, can you run the Waves Soundgrid software on a personal dedicated computer? Or do you have to buy the official Waves server rack mounted device to run Waves plugins? The cheaper servers are still alot of money, and I have several quick computers sitting around collecting dust. Thanks! Super interesting to see, and handy because it is our same SQ series console which is helpful.
both! the superrack or LV1 frontends can run on any old PC/mac, but ideally, the actual plugins run on a dedicated waves server, connecting via soundgrid and a waves card in the desk, you can run superrack native using a usb interface/dante virtual soundcard etc... but low latency performance may suffer, possibly meaning that its only suitable for send/return type effects rather than inserts, though that will depend on the spesifics of your situation. There are ways to run the soundgrid server OS on non-waves computers (its not actually very difficult), but compatability with the spesific hardware you have isn't guaranteed
Nice one. Thanks for sharing this.
Hey man, so I have question. I'd like to do this at our church, we have an SQ7 and right now our live stream is mixed through a separate mix on the SQ and send out from there. So my question is this: is it possible to control Audition from a mix other than the LR mix? Like if I could use the desk and the house operator used MixPad, I don't want to interfere with what he's doing just to get functionality for Audition. Know what I mean? So do you know if this is possible? Thanks!
Yes it is possible. I've been able to control faders in Audition also.
THIS MIXER IS TOO EXPENSIVE I DON'T THINK YAMAHA WILL SELL A LOT OF THEM .
Why do you use 48k sample rate in Waves? I thought the SQ series was native 96k?
I use 96k for Waves
Nice one
I wonder if you just jumpered the aux in and out if it would let you do the Micheal Brower thing. Or would it still stop you because of the routing internally.
You can do that, but I don't want to incur the A/D D/A conversion.
Thank for the video. You showed how to connect it, but how do you use it? Reverbs/Delays? Individual chanel proçessing? Etc. I know you mentioned this a bit at the end, but I'm keen to see the application of integrating the Waves FX
I just bought my A&H SQ6 and the Waves I/o .... is there any way I can contact you for a little insight? @Th3basketkas3 [IG] ( SQ6 )(Waves Sq SG ) (WSG Impact Server) [YAMHS8][Novation SL Mkiii] [MpcX] [Behringer Neutron Eurorack]
Is a sound grid server necessary?
Yes if you want low latency, otherwise, you can run without it.
@@hanieltrisna jow you run it without ?
My bad, you do need a server
Hey Haniel, Greetings from Down Under! Loving your content. Can you do something on the SQ and Pro Tools? There seems to be an absence of content regarding this subject. It's the kind of thing I want to see before pulling the trigger on one of these consoles. "The last box to be ticked" if you will :) Cheers heaps mate. Thanks again
Somebody made a video on that already. It works for me. ua-cam.com/video/HOGcwMo4Vlw/v-deo.html
This may sound dumb. Where do I find the Daw Control window
Not dumb at all. You download DAW Control from Allen&Heath website, install it, and run it. It will then show up in your system tray. Lower right on Windows, Upper right on Mac.
Cool Kuhan!
Nice video mate. Keep up the good work.
Thank you brother.
