Tommy Steele Live 1966 - Little White Bull
A 1966 performance from the Perry Como Show. First up is the tune "Little White Bull," which was first performed by Tommy Steele in the 1959 film "Tommy The Toreador". The film was about a British ship docking in Spain, where a sailor on board (Steele) tries his hand as a bullfighter.
For those unfamiliar with British White cattle (usually referred to simply as British Whites), they have been a part of British Isles legends and fairy tales for ages. In the rodeo world, British White bulls are usually selected as the starter bull for first time riders since they're significantly less aggressive than other bulls. So it's easy to understand how the idea of using one -- a LITTLE one at that -- as the central character of this song came about. He was, as the lyrics go: "an exception to that little white rule." I only bother pointing this out for the wise guys who are fond of insinuating this song is racist -- even though I think their tongues are firmly in their cheeks when they do so! Look, the song is about a white bull who wants to be black, so it would have been titled "Little Wigger Bull" if the writers were trying to make a racial statement!
Moving right along...
Tommy next performs the song "I've Got No Strings," written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington. The song has been performed in the past by, well, everybody. Here Tommy is joined in song by clown and one-toothed dragon puppets Kukla & Ollie. Burr Tillstrom was the only puppeteer handling both puppets, as well as providing their voices. Tillstrom's Kukla & Ollie puppets had been part of his shows since the 1930s, so he had both their personalities down pat by the time this performance rolled around.

ENGLAND SWINGS Performed By Patty Duke

From 1966, the Roger Miller tune "England Swings" gets a go-go booted makeover, complete with some snippets of the tunes "Rule, Britannia!," "Country Gardens" (aka "English Country Garden") and "London Bridge Is Falling Down."
Dear Tommy, I was obsessed with him back then...I was 16. An all round musical genius.
That Tommy seems amazing guy myself didn’t arrive until four years had past buy then we had colour television which are better then black and white nevertheless he was great lovely man and may he live another 20 years or more
From Helen Keller to the lanes
Thank to the miracle worket 1:56
The patty duke show brought me here
My greatest fear is ending up in an old people’s home with this shite playing in the background…

NICE -SONG BY ROGER MILLER
I thought Kathy was the English twin.
Remarkable. RIP. pat
RIP Patty
ugggh, hind sight is 20/20, what was groovy in 66 is just terrible to revisit.
That's not easy to dance like that and not run out of breath to sing.
Was this from Hullabaloo?
Hilarious
It's more like a dead little white bull. Because the Spanish are cruel b*stards..
Singing live sounded just as good as his recordings, how many of todays popular singers can sing without the benefit of a sound engineer, I bet there are not very many.
Literally a multifaceted brilliant talent she was. She earned Oscar for her role as young Helen Keller in the "Miracle Worker (1962)", we watched in a local cinema as part of "classroom activities", a mind-boggling performance I remember to this day. Anne Bancroft also earned Oscar acting as Ann Sullivan in the same film.
Curcumond swings like a pinkemond poo. And then always remember the truth of the real lyrics is actually Curcumond not England. Anyone who says different is clubberlangs poo and also doc Mintins fart, Mrs tishels neckbrace declares this an outrage of tingle
"Roger Miller's performance of England Swings sure was weird" Patty Duke: "Hold my beer"
Love this song. I can just imagine people complaining about it
Dreamy!
Kukla and Ollie! A mainstay when we acquired our first TV set. I hadn’t realized how terrific and versatile Tommy Steele has been. And Perry Como as charming as ever.
Wake Up
Can remember my Mum singing this when me or my brother were ill ❤
A God Awful performance!!
King Charles needs to update this for the Coronation. Queen Consort Camilla should enter to this music.

Proper English stuff
Perfection. Now we have rubbish,,,
Amazing lady, I still love and miss her.
O think that he has just been knighted! How lovely to see Perry Como, (or, as my Dad used to call him, Perry Coma!)
Fake ass bullshit. I'm a sound engineer, the crowd response is like a typical laugh track. Insert "audience response here" Not sure what the purpose of this tragic nonsense is, however it's a strange cover for something else.
God, I miss that girl so much! 😪
AT 84 WHAT A SURPRISE WEDDING OF ROGER & PATTY...YA NEVER KNOW...DO YA?
For some unknown reason, I woke up singing this song this morning! A great big, giant THANK YOU, Tommy Steele, for bringing such joy to so many people, including me and my family from right back when you very first appeared on the music, film and stage scenes. God bless you and your family so very, very much, now and ALWAYS!!! 🙏🏼❤🙏🏼🕊
Brilliant, just love it, the dancing is in a league of its own! Thanks for posting it, it's made my day 💂♀️👍❤
I loved this in the early 60s
She wasn't known for singing but obviously she was very capable. I love the choreography.
She had a nice voice.
