I prefer a grid in the boxes, personally but this planner looks amazing. But I really like the check off circles on the right

I have ADHD and love the Dashboard layout. I am in a Sterling Ink standard TN but thanks to Kim on MartinMadeTV - UA-cam she did a fabulous job in, I think February and one of her layouts is very much like the simply - there is room at the top for daily to dos and you divide the bottom two thirds into 8 squares, or two narrow columns on either side and squares in the middles per day. I use the columns for a quote and word (definition/origin, can’t help it I’m an SLP or for weekly to do - that leaves my days blank until I list what to do - may sound complex but it’s not and it works for me.

When I was working I think this layout could have been helpful but because like you explained it’s just a zoomed in monthly view. My problem I didn’t discover the happy planner until after I became a SAHM - which is truly the worst job for someone with ADHD LOL. I thought that I didn’t have a routine and procrastinated a lot before…. Well it turns out I really had it together 😅 Having open availability makes it SO hard to prioritize and plan. If I had to choose only one layout to use it would probably be the monthly or dashboard. I am in the process of creating a system for my brain..l I got a little sidetracked buying all the stickers again lol but this time around the main thing I have learned is that I need to have my to do list separate from my days. If I don’t complete them on the day they are written in then I will avoid looking at my planner because of the guilt. I think I am going to try having a separate section in my planner using the hourly planner for tentative time blocking/time tracking.

I struggle with using planners, still at 55 years old! As someone with ADHD, unfortunately I lost interest in this video 6 minutes into it as it was still only addressing the cover. A tip for the presenter- many ADHD people just want to get to the main points, as quickly as they can.

The term ADD is no longer used. The DSM V has been updated to reflect that ADHD encompasses both the inattentive type (formerly ADD), and the hyperactive type (what people typically think of when they hear ADHD). Thanks for this review. I have ADHD (inattentive type) and have recently ordered the Daily Duo for 2024 and am hopeful that it will help me get myself organized for the new year.

Great video. I have a planner that includes everything I need to write down for tracking purposes. I carry this with me everywhere so I chose to have a seperate journal which stays at home. That’s it. It works for me but before I saw this video, I really thought I should break up everything (ie- a separate budget and book planner) because that is what most were doing. Now I know I don’t have to.

Thank you so much for this video. I have been using a planner for most of my life. I recently found the “planner community” and started going down the rabbit hole. I was fortunate to be able to pull back. I like to see how everyone uses and decorates (I didn’t even know this was a thing🤣) there planners but in the end you are correct- I will do what works best for me. I am glad though I learned about decorating as my planner has to be functional do to do much going on but I always thought it was boring. Now I can make it fun.

You plan exactly how I do! I ended up getting a monthly Happy Planner from Amazon. I'm not sure if that layout is available anywhere else. The list format is perfect for the little bit of space I need for my minimal planning I do. I also have daily sheets for the more busy days.

This year I decided to make my own happy planner. Wow it wasn't as easy as I thought, and I managed to print it the wrong size but I had 3nough, discs and coveres I really didn't need to buy anything!

I can't even tell you how many cute planners with a vertical layout I have bought fully knowing that I hate a vertical layout. ive tried to use them for years for my catch all, garden planning and all sorts of things because I bought it so needed to use it. All with terrible results. Last year I even tried a goal planner with the vertical layout for the SECOND time hoping it would work better than the first time around around because I really wanted to do better at the goal planning part. NOPE. Didnt do better with the goal planning part and the vertical definitely didnt work! Still! LOL. SERIOUSLY im banning myself from vertical planners. But its SO hard. They are by far the most common. I have a great home/fammily/budget planner and Ive decided a Leuchterm Montly with the indexible notes pages is what im trying for my Garden planning this year as my most success for the garden previously was a HP monthly but I dont need the checklists and I do need more notes pages for record keeping, plus want them to be compact to store long term for historical comparisons. But....I am really struggling with what to use for my catchall. I like the happy planner weekly dashboard but its still just not quite right. Im seriously thinking of trying the Colibri works daily. But worry the hourly planning is redundant to my Outlook schedule for work but im so calendar driven at work, im starting to realize if I dont actually assign tasks a time in my day I dont get them done and since I work from home I really need to blend those schedules as sometimes the best time to get something done is when I have time between meetings at work. I really appreciate your videos on how to plan your planner lineup. Its really helping me think about things this year! I found a beautiful planner/journal that I want so much but will I really use it?? Where does it fit in my needs....

I've been struggling ally my adult life with this. Thank you for simplifying this process. Do you use envelopes for cash? or for savings? I find that if it is in the bank account than I will spend it.

I’ve got an 18 month vertical HP, a 12 month January start HP, a mini January start HP and a 2024 Passion Planner… All just for next year. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course I bought them all because the design/graphics were cute. But I’ve definitely over bought, and I am mentally beating myself up about that and I can’t decide what I’m going to do. I want to memory plan but can’t stay caught up. I want to do a mental health/wellness journal but am self conscious about writing that stuff out. All I’ve ever been good at staying on top of is a catch all. 🙃🙂🙃 oh the struggle.

Try hemlock and oak. There planners are AMAZING. Also go getter girl is a good company. You talk about not using planner we don’t need I’m using 13 in 2024. So excited. However some have been sent to me to review so but def try those to I think you would love them

So much good info. I wish id gotten this a few yrs ago! I do have an HP planner but this yr i did add a new $10 planner from Amazon...the very busy planner...and LOVE it! Also, ive learned to wait 4 the HP spring release because i prefer colorful planners rather than neutral planners. The colorful things seem to come out in Spring for HP, Although they did put out a cute colorful Disney planner on Amazon a month ago.
