Sell or Mod? Ibanez RG320
Considering either selling my old 2001 Ibanez RG320 or modding it with top quality components. What would you do? Seems like these things are becoming quite rare to find on the used market.
Leave your comments down below on what you think I should do.
Best!

    nah man, he cant play shit live.., even an grade schooler prom performance are more interesting than watching ichika nito live..dude doesnt even try atleast play 1 songs atleast 1 of his original composition like what he does in his videos even he got backing track but his guitar tone sounds unmatch and wtf man.. he should have played guitar dj rather than being like this.. imo only polyphia tim henson is the real banger who shows that he can perform his shit with band and backing tracks.. but ichika.. im dissapointed tbh..nobody asked him to play fast bpm music..he cant even nailed a moderate one too. sounds like amature covering ichika nito but ironically it was himself.

    Bare knuckles! I put an Aftermath in my Schecter bridge position and it sounds immense. And it splits really well too so they’re pretty versatile I’m not a fan of floating bridges so I’d put a floyd rose style bridge back in for the aesthetic but hard tail it so it’s stable but you can still use the fine tuners. And if it’s already a bit dinged up then lean into it and relic the hell out of it!

    • @SeanBennettGuitar
      @SeanBennettGuitar 14 днів тому

      Ace man! I didn’t think the Aftermath would be so versatile - can it do multiple styles then? Funnily enough this guitar still has a wood block in the back from when I blocked the old tremolo completely 😅 it definitely would need some Bare Knuckles. I quite like the True Grit pickups. I would absolutely love if I could put a single coil in the neck instead of a humbucker. Needs to do some research and see if it’s possible.

    most of these comparison vids claiming tube amps are no longer needed are done with HIGH-gain setting. To me, differences are more notable in edge-of-breakup or relatively low gain settings. tube amps are still more dynamic. immediate (no latency) , warmer, less predictable (i'd call it more Organic), most of all "unique" - each one has its OWN voice.

    • @SeanBennettGuitar
      @SeanBennettGuitar 14 днів тому

      I still love real amps. For me it’s not even about the sound of a real amp vs modellers, it’s the fact that you know you’re playing something real. It’s inspiring in that sense. The guitar -> real amp response is immediate and a better playing experience than modellers. I agree with you about high gain - it’s less noticeable in that instance which is a modellers and which is an amp.

    I have this pedal and a real Fender Deluxe, so in my opinion its strength is also its main drawback: it's too realistic! it really gives you the good and bad of a real Fender amp, I love it but I wish that for this price it could have MIDI and USB audio interface, or at least a firmware update to enable audio over USB so I can use it as my direct audio interface and maybe MIDI over USB to change presets

    • @SeanBennettGuitar

      Sorry, I’m confused what you mean? If you mean the foot switch disengaging the channel switching functionality on the amp itself (rhythm/lead switch), then this does happen when the foot switch is inserted into the back of the amp.

    Melody. truer words couldn't be said. 2 things on that- take a lot of super talented guitar players that know theory and all that= their music sucks. Satriani, etc- their music isn't very good regardless of how technical it was. Jazz- really high-level jazz only appeals to musicians who play Jazz- sounds like shit to the average listener. This is why the French= Kill Jazz. Their music, though still Jazz= Sounds Good. French Jazz is some of my fav, go listen to a Monk album and tell me what's good about it, besides it being complex?

    Brother, if two frets are added, it would force the builder to move the pickups. That neck pickup tone you love so much would be ruined - if you those classic Strat tones from the neck and neck/middle are what one wants. The more you change the Strat formula, the more you stray from "that" tone. Lotsa options with 24 frets; including Schecter's.

I replaces the white pickguard with a Balck pearloid HSS pickguard, and transfered over.rhe electronics, but with a DiMarzio AT1 humbucker in the bridge. All said and done, its one of the most versatile guitars i have. The clean channel is amazing. Mark Tremonti himself wanted it to not be an afterthought like many high gain amps (I've heard a lot the the Peavey 6505's clean channel leaves a lot to be desired). But the lead channel I preferred to a Mesa Boogie. Digital has come a long way, for example Rob Chapman mistook a Kemper profile for a real tube amp in a blind taste test. On paper it is the way to go, BUT I had a Mesa Boogie Mark 5:35 which had 3 amp voicings per channel and I was forever fiddling with it to find a sound i was satisfied with, and that was 6 different settings, let alone the DOZENS with digital modelling/profiling. The MT15 has only one sound which blew me away, and I very quickly found a sound I was happy with and through my Mesa Boogie Cabclone, that'll easily plug directly into the PA and have the convenience of digital.

    • @SeanBennettGuitar
      @SeanBennettGuitar 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for your insights using the amp! Clean channel is great. Perfect pedal platform. Agree that the downside to modelling is option paralysis. The experience itself of playing a real amp in a room will always beat digital modelling in my opinion. Not so much in sound, but the experience in itself. I think both real and digital have their place, and I’m an advocate of using both personally.

    If you want to add more resistance to how easy the tone knob turns, cut a piece of felt a little smaller than the diameter of the knob itself and poke a hole it in so you can fit it over the post. Push it down so it goes over the nut holding the pot in place and put the knob back on so it sandwiches the felt between the bottom of the tone knob and the nut. I had to do this on a guitar and it works like a charm. Still easy to turn but it won't wander on it's own.

    This was a great video. I'm thinking of buying this as my first tube amp. I'm not too worried about no reverb or delay saying that i am picking up some pedals as well (mxr carbon delay/reverb and a fortin blade). This thing is pretty chonky, compared to other amps that are on el84's this ones a beast. I think it'll do my Slipknot and Whitechapel needs. If you know of any other amps i should check out let me know. Looking for some that kinda have a bit more of a scooped mids kinda sound while having a nice tight and responsive low end. Because it was originally between this and the Marshall Dsl20hr and this thing just has more of the sound im looking for.

    I have the HSS orange one. It's a great guitar if I could keep it tune. Even small bends take me out of tune. I've replaced the locking tuners and string tree. Hopefully replacing the nut will fix the tuning issues. I prefer the neck/middle position for most stuff.

      It's the nut slots when it does that. Not sure there's a Tusq drop-in like there is with Fender/Charvel so with that and the tight string spacing I'm not sure I'll pull the trigger on one of these. They seem to be a pound heavier than Fenders also. The Teles average close to 9 lbs going off Sweetwater

    If you look into the pedal the 'Boost' circuit is actually based on Andy's Keeley modded TS808 with the gain and tone fixed where he likes to use it. The main drive sound is based on the JHS Angry Charlie, which in turn is based on the Marshall Guv'nor distortion box. So you essentially get a Guv'nor and a Tube Screamer in one. Also the 25, 50 and 100W settings are fantastic to mess with. Really instanely awesome pedal.
