    Thanks for the video. Most videos/posts on carrying a bike on a motorcycle have way too complicated and unsafe solutions. Yours is simple, legal, and looks safe. Have you tried carrying the bicycle without the bag? It seems the bag doesn't really add any real utility to your solution.

    • @sgscooterguy2928
      @sgscooterguy2928 3 роки тому

      Yes, you definitely could carry the bike without the bag. However, the bag provide some buffer for motorcycle saddle protection and also makes it easier to anchor on the motorcycle. No strict methodolgy to adhere anyway. Just mount it the way you like as long as its secure and stable.

    There's no way that little lightbulb would "completely drain the battery overnight". Not even anywhere near it.

    One of the funniest things I've seen. The guy is going to haul ass on his Kymco to get a top speed and he's not even wearing a proper motorcycle jacket. But ironically, he's doing all his talking in front of a Chinese Cemetery sign!

    I wonder if your results would improve by putting your feet forward and lowering your height slightly. You sound as if you are experiencing a lot of buffering. I believe also an after market screen a tad taller might also help.

    Maxi scooters are for getting out on the weekend and enjoying the open road. I don't care too much about top speed and I only care about acceleration when I need to pass someone. I want comfort so I can ride all day at the speed limit which in Australia is 110km/h. I want ABS and traction control for safe stopping and better control on wet, oily, slippery roads. In a maxi-scooter I think cruise control should also be included as I am going to want to ride for along time and a long distance - I only want to stop to refuel not because I have a sore right hand. I want an engine with plenty of torque so that when I come to a hill I can keep riding at a constant speed knowing the engine and transmission will cope. An adjustable screen that can be raised/lowered while I ride so that if I come into a town and I have to slow down I get some good airflow but I can put the screen back up when I'm riding at high speed outside the town. I have a Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive which does most of those things. Mine is about 10 years old so it does not have cruise control or traction control but I hope any new model being planned included them. I think the Yamaha T Max 550 has cruise control. The bike you're riding seems adequate for what you're doing - I thought I saw you lived in Singapore so I don't suppose there are lots of open spaces or big distances between places like there are in Australia.

    Can I know if you tried top speed,a friend told me he gets 160km/hr.and how much without coe + insurance.petrol wise,how far can it go?

    • @alanchiuth
      @alanchiuth 5 років тому

      Yup. I have hit 165km/h before on M'sia highway. However, do not believe solely on the reading shown on speedometer as it doesn't take in account of wind and tarmac resistant. It simply shows you the speed based on the rotation of the tires. Under GPS reading, the max I can achieve is about 146km/h only. I paid SGD $11,297 without COE. Not sure how much is my insurance thou.

    Great review, thank you so much! What about riding with a passenger? Could you share some more detailed thoughts about this? I want to ride it with my girlfriend as a passenger, she is 175 cm tall and about 70 kg. Together we are about 145 kg. Right now I have Honda SH150i and when riding it outside of town it is a bit too slow, overtakes are almost impossible, when she is riding with me. Looking forward to your review. By the way, could you give us a link for your mobile phone mount, which you are using? It looks cool!

    Hi mate, i'm currently in the market for a scooter and I'm stuck between the Downtown 350i abs and the Honda Forza 300. How is the bike so far? Any problems with it? Are you happy with it? How many KM's have you done so far? Sorry I'm asking a lot of questions :) When you were in the market to buy a scooter did you check the honda forza 300? What do you think about it?

    Hello SGScooterGuy, could you please tell me how often you change the engine oil? the catalogue says every 5000 km but the local agent here says I should change it every 2000km. Also could you please advice on the type of transmission oil you use as I'm confused between the different types (there are those for wet clutches which are different from those used in cvt) and how often it should be changed as well? Thanks in advance for the reply

    • @sgscooterguy2928
      @sgscooterguy2928 7 років тому

      I just change it every 5000km. However, I also get the advice to change oil earlier especially if you ride in city star stop traffic most of the time. Guess I don't really care. My DT350i scooter is almost 2 years old now. So far so good. Still working just fine. ;)

    • @hanynabil358
      @hanynabil358 7 років тому

      Good for you:) How many kilometers did it run in the 2 years? You might want to check the website of the oil manufacturer for recommendations on the oil mileage. I use Motul Scooter Expert 4t 10w- 40 which is recommended on Motul's website to be changed every 4000km. Still a big improvement from the 2000 km change interval recommended by Kymco's people here. Could you please tell me what type of transmission oil you use? Do you know if the 80w-90 oil for all gear types suitable or not? Thanks again for your useful feedback.
