I’m still learning as I go! I’ll be sure to take your advice for when I get back in the CP/G’s seat in the future. Part of the reason I upload these is so I can receive pointers on how I can improve.

@@VKNorthern Hello VKNorthern, sorry, my criticism was perhaps a little harsh. I was expecting a professional video that I could learn something from. Instead, I saw blind shooting at the next best radar contacts. It could have been an ambulance evacuating the wounded and/or civilians!? Next time, make the radar contact the aquisition source (ACQ), select TADS in the TEDAC, press "Slave" and align the TADS with the aquisition source, and clear the contact visiually. @@ramonbohne1336 I appreciate the advice! I’m new to using the FCR so I’m still trying to get my bearings with it. I’ll be sure to identify my targets with the TEDAC first before firing at any targets. I only did that in this case since it was “prior intel” that we knew about but you’re 100% right that I should visually ID the target before firing at it. Sorry that I couldn’t bring it to a level of professionalism that you wanted. I have a lot of different modules and never enough time to dedicate towards them so things like that slip. It’s one of the reasons that uploading these is so useful to me and hopefully to others as anyone can point out any mistakes I made so that I can learn from them and hopefully anyone who watches can also point them out. Thank you for your help to make me a better Apache CP/G! I really do appreciate it.

Interesting Point. I am continuously asking myself if i do some collateral damage or not...DCS lacks the simulation on these collateral damages so all you can do is to avoid shooting at all costs, especially in urban environments.

Haha you’ll get there eventually! Takes some time to get used to the systems and the handling of this bird but it also helps to have a second person available to be your CPG or pilot!

Hi there! It's Enhanced Skyscapes which used to be purchasable from the Threshold store. The developer, however, has removed it due to getting a full time job at Laminar Research so it is no longer available to purchase. There is a free version which albeit it limited, does give volumetric clouds. You can find that here: forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/65005-enhanced-cloudscapes/

Its not 1:1 sensivity, you just need to turn 25 dregrees to virtually turn 160 for example

@@lulifz Yep that's exactly what it is! Thanks for helping in clarifying what it is. You're amplifying the head movement in game compared to your actual head movement in the real world so as to mimic free head movement with the in-game camera and not having to use a separate hat switch or other control to move your camera around. Your eyes will still be looking at the monitor but your in-game camera will be turned much further so that you can continue to see the monitor. You won't be looking directly behind you to see behind you in-game unless you are actually using. The only exception to this is VR which will allow you to look in the game world at a 1:1 ratio since the display is fixed to your eyes.

Adjust your trim inside the aircraft

I actually have a video on my UA-cam channel doing some aerial refueling with the control inputs display in DCS open. In that video, I was using my VKB Gunfighter MCG Ultimate and CM3 throttle. Using the X56 to do such a thing was quite difficult as I personally had a deadzone setup so that the slop in the center would not get picked up since there was basically no resistance there at all due to the spring not acting upon the joystick in any way. You'll find that upgrading to the VKB Gladiator EVO or another higher-end joystick will provide a much smoother and overall better experience. I've even had a much better experience using the T16000m as that at least doesn't have that kind of "sloppy" feel in the center (though the gimbal mechanism of the cup and ball method leaves a lot to be desired due to the hard push through when you return the stick to center). Doing aerial refueling in DCS with the X56 is totally possible but you'll find it becomes a lot easier when you don't need to wrestle your controls and can just focus on flying in formation with the tanker. I had the throttle lever creep with all of my X56s through either Amazon or Logitech RMA. It seems that it's still too heavy to stay there on its own, and I would regularly get thrown out of the CLB detent in any Airbus aircraft I might be flying.

@@MondoChow777 To a certain degree it can but then it becomes annoying to move the throttles as they are just tensioned so much to keep it from creeping like that. I've also had units where the friction knob could be maxed out and it would still creep forward slowly.

I know you said that you don't want an Airbus because of all the automation involved in those but the Airbus A300 or A310 are pretty good choices when it comes to getting something that isn't too modern but also isn't too classic as it has a lot of analog gauges combined with glass cockpit displays kind of like how the 757 is. I got it for X-Plane at 10 GBP when they had that sale, and it will most likely happen again at some point when it goes on sale from iniBuilds, but they have the A300 now by default with every copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator, so it could be more worthwhile to fly it in Microsoft Flight Simulator since it is given to you as part of the base game package. The Felis 747-200 is similar to the FlyJSim 732, but it has a bit more modernization than that aircraft as you can fit in different navigation units ranging from the CIVA INS to the LTN-92 and the default X-Plane FMS. It's great from what I hear and may be what you want. The Rotate MD-11 had a rough launch with some major bugs and issues. I've heard that most of these have been ironed out, and the experience with the aircraft is good, but it is pretty high priced. It is a great aircraft nonetheless, but it is quite modern as it contains full glass cockpit displays and doesn't really have much in the way of that "classic" kind of feel. Perhaps the Rotate MD-80 might be a better choice for that classic yet modern feel?
