Skippy Rock
Приєднався 16 тра 2023
This channel was created by two brothers to show all of their random hobbies and projects, which skip around much like a rock skipping across a pond. One of those hobbies was the creation of a pixel art game named Skippy Rock. They used this to name the channel because they couldn't think of anything better. Also, they already had the t-shirts.
My new (to me) AMG G55. How does it handle off roading?
After checking out a few cars at a local auto auction, I end up with a new G wagon, upgrading my 2002 g500 to a 2003 g55!
I also put it to the test and off road the thing a bit. next stop uwharrie national park!

Can an inexperienced person easily learn to operate a Mini Excavator?
Переглядів 213Місяць тому
In this video, I buy a mini excavator from Groundhog. before this, the biggest piece of equipment I've bought was a push mower. Can a random person buy and learn to operate one of these? In this video I just learn the ins and out of operations. ALSO: we switch operation from ISO to SAE. so that might be useful to people as well! Building an electric CYCLEKART!!!
Переглядів 101 тис.2 місяці тому
In this video I build the body of my Electric Cyclekart. I stick to the size and scale of a traditional Cyclekarts, but I power mine with an electric motor. For this part of the build, Im keeping the settings pretty much in line with what you would get from a Predator 212 gas engine. In this video I start from scratch and get the thing driving. Custom Garage Sauna Build - Part 1 of 2
Cool projet but what is the spec of the motor ?
I did kind of edit that out of the video! I’ll talk about it more in the second part when I finish the shell. But it’s a qs138 90h with a votol 150/2 controller.
Need to do that to my 2015 leaf
It collects a lot of leaves as you drive. And I need a better way to raise the rear suspension. It clunks when you go over a bump.
The turtle is p*$$ed. He had just grown into his hole. Turtles burrow, so there's that.
“What the hell! I just got this hole where I liked it!”
fawn? forn? thorn? wtf is he saying? 🤨
Yes!
It looks and its maked of dump. Dont you know what a Velomobile is ? Search for the Quattrovelo, big child.
So this is just the testing shape to make sure it all works. This isn’t its final form. The velo thing is pretty cool! But I don’t want to just buy something. I want to create something!
It probably stunk like chemicals or something probably lime
We let it cure a couple of days before sticking it in there!
Poor guy... That's a pretty small enclosure for a turtle that size. They really should have a full yard, him pacing back and forth is pretty rough to watch 🥺
He looks pretty happy to me
Yeah. That pacing was over about a 30 minute period. And it’s just because something majorly changed with his normal surroundings. Usually he just sits happily in his basking light.
@@SkippyRockGame give homie some pizza every now and then
How many watts is the motor rated at? And how much would you say it has cost you to build this? Very inspiring!
The motor is rated for 4000w. But the controller can push it up to about 15kw. The motor controller and battery was right at $2000. I spent 1200 in parts from renegade karts. 400 for wheels and tires. Brakes 300, differential 200. Those are the bigger ticket items I can think of. But it’ll end up costing right at $5000. I know it doesn’t look like it at the end of this video! But by the end of the next video it should look like a proper old school race car. They say a cyclekart should cost 2-3000 to make, and if I’d gone gas, I’d be just over that. But I bought some premade parts instead of making them myself in order to save time.
@@SkippyRockGame You are inspiring me to build one. I can see there will be a steep learning curve learning everything, like running a 4000w motor up to 15kw??? Wouldn't that burn it out or something? I was so impressed how stable it seemed even when you hit 50 mph. Do you think you were running the motor over 4000 watts to get there? When do you think your next video will be out?
❤ that’s adorable how he paced around checking for other changes then settling in his NEW AWESOME CAVE to sleep all tucked in hims widdle tortoise shell like 😴
Haha. I had setup the camera to see if I could catch him going in it for the first time. When I scrolled through the footage to see if he did I realize I had accidentally captured his hilarious exploration!
I love turtles
Love this ❤ You did an amazing job!!! 🐢
Thanks!
It's safe? It won't break on him?
Nah, it setup a couple of days before we stuck it in there. There was also some extra bits around the bottom edge I was able to chip off with a hammer and the thing stayed intact!
welding in short trowsers and t-shirt. realy goood idea. NOT...
You’ve got to be comfortable while you weld! Also. Why do all my socks have little holes in them?
That's a tortoise NOT a turtle. This tortoise should be in it's natural environment. Not a cage.
All tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises!
@@SkippyRockGame Correct.
So he can die in a few months, right? Just like PETA, you are literally the worst.
Derp derp... People who make this very easily looked up and avoidable error are ridiculous 😂 Edit: in case it wasn't clear I mean you... All tortoises are turtles
That looks fantastic. I love the added turtle, and the cave marks look awesome. He loves it ❤

I think the future of cyclekarting will eventually be electric, the sound of a dozen karts doing hot laps garners unwanted attention from Karens with 911 on speed dial.
you should post links to the parts you used on your project
I added the links to the main parts! And really Steve’s plans come with links to all the little parts.
Bravo! You absolutely built a Cyclekart, even with an electric motor. We really appreciate the UA-cam shoutout. Please send us a email, we’d like to show case your build on our Renegade website.
Is it possible to build a shop? I figured you're not renting. But I didn't know if you dont have the space or not. You deserve one with the work you do. Rutin for ya man
I’m working on it!
When mounting tires. the trick is to make sure that the bead that is already on stays in the narrowist or lowest part of the rim. I have done numerous bicycle tires and it took me a long time to figure that out. Makes life so much easier!
OMG. is this a comedy act, i’m watching this jaw dropped, in awe 🤦
you noticed the lack of reinforcement on his grand canyon of a C notch eh?
Should check out how to "true" a spoked wheel. might help fix some wobbling issues too.
Ok. Because I took this thing apart to paint and start working on the shell. There is still some wobble. I’ve heard you can tighten spokes and what not. I’ll look into. Thanks for the vocabulary! It helps when searching up videos!
Brilliant work!... but.... If you are a courious-enough stranger, you will figure that this "secret (not too secret) door" gives access to a stair going up. See the ceiling shape of stairs coming from lower level.
That’s true… But I think my friends wanted it more as a gimmick to show off!
@@SkippyRockGame Don't get me wrong. This is awesome! I will follow your tips for my secret door / book case! Cheers.
What is the diferencial model you used on your project? If you have the part number, it would be awesome.
www.surpluscenter.com/Brands/Peerless/Peerless-100-224-Differential-1-Axle-13-1619.axd
That link is what I ordered. And that’s the company I used. I also ordered my disc brake and sprocket from them. Sprocket didnt work for my motor and chain. But the disc brake worked fine!
I’m getting this tomorrow. Do y’all love it?
Yes! It’s been great. And we were able to sleep on it the first night.
Hey great job on your CycleKart. Thanks for using our plans, it looks like it worked out great for your build. You are right about a few thinks, we also struggle to align all 4 bearings on a differential. It is super important not to bind the rear axle as it will cause issues with performance and may damage the rear differential. Also, bleeding those MCP brakes is an absolute pain. I finally broke down and read the MCP instructions. If you do it exactly the way they recommend it is much easier. I thought we would never get those brakes to work....finally listened to my wife and read the instructions, lol. Also, your kart is absolutely a CycleKart! We do actually have electric motors included in the Builders Guidelines. You kept the performance similar to the gasoline powered CycleKarts and that is important so that everyone has fun. If you build it to go 100 mph, that is where we feel the spirit of the hobby is lost. I am looking forward to see the body come together. Get out in the garage and build something cool.
Hey Steve! Thanks for the comment! I watched a ton of your videos before starting this project. I’m working on the shell now. It’s taking longer than I expected but hopefully by the end of October I’ll have the final video out. My final motor setting should be very similar to the 200cc motor. I have a better battery now and it seems like it could easily go over 60 but honestly that’s just terrifying. I’ve decided it’s much more fun to get to 30-40 quickly than it it’s to just have a ridiculous top speed!
@@SkippyRockGameif I know anything from playing Mario kart, 200cc is EXTREMELY fast
I think that all your fiberglass and the paint will help you hold your fine machine up well for about 14 months
do you need a rubber rim strip in the wheel? I didn't see one on the wheel you were working with.
The rim tape stuff? Probably. I realized I missed that after I’d already started putting them together. I’ll add it if(when) I pop a tube
You know what would be handy to keep everything out? Doors... :D
Haha. Yeah. I did it for the visual of making it look like a golf cart. But it has lead to two problems. It gets dirty in the interior quickly and because of using it on dirt roads and the woods, the exterior gets dirty quickly. Which without doors is hard to clean.
From where did you got the lens i want it too
Just eBay. They have a bunch of different listings all right around the same price. www.ebay.com/itm/126405195526
So there are actually rules on what a cycle cart is? It cant be a cycle cart if has electric engine? Now that is just silly.
Haha. Go to the cyclekart website. They seem very stringent. And they even have a question and answer area one says something like “what about using a bigger engine? Great have fun, but that’s not a cyclekart”
Restoring my 72 MGB that I drive during my college years some 40+ years ago. Like you I also have a UA-cam channel which makes each job 4X longer. I would like to see if I can make it road legal. But my wife says it’s too small. Nobody would see me
@@SkippyRockGame Put a few flags and lights on it😂
So I found out in some areas there is a class of vehicles called, light urban vehicles, which if follow certain rules can be made road legal. I think like areas where it’s legal to drive golf carts around everywhere. So in the right area you could potentially make something like this road legal!
that clunking is the exhaust. I had to bend a flange underneath mine to stop it.
Interesting. I’ll check it out!

Why call it a cycle cart? A recumbent e bike is a cycle cart lol. Great build man. I have those CT90 wheels on my honda c70 1984. I got the 72 spoke chrome guys though. They look great.
So cyclekart is a style of build using 17 in motorcycle tires and trying to replicate a vintage race car. You are also suppose to have a pretty specific frame size and design. I’m working on part two now which will hopefully make it look like a race car!
Wow such a cool project
@@CoupleofBunkies thanks! And it’s about to get even cooler as I finish out the outer shell!
Where did you buy your wheels?
eBay. Honda ct-90 wheels/clones
Thank you for the demonstration, but I am sorry, because I now have to notify child protection services for putting your child on the medieval torture rack!
There is a solid foam rubber inner tube you can get at walmart, and you won't have to worry about getting a flat tire.
Anyone know what tire they used?
They used some tire by Hercules they had to order from an online supplier. It was the only thing they could find that would fit the leaf wheels. When they get a chance they can post a more detail listing of what the tires are.
Sick ❤
A little more info on the differential you used and the power system would be nice
Differential is peerless differential. I found a supplier online. The motor and controller was from electric and co. QS138 90H with votol em150/2
People with your mechanical knowledge should not be let loose with an home made road vehicle!
Hey! I represent that remark!
What did you use for a differential and axles???
Peerless differential, it has the axles built in!
I’d by that
