Goldfish Funeral

Goldfish are simple creatures who cannot conceptualize life or death, and yet their passing floors us. The anguish we feel is a reflection of our own humanity, we are mourning personification of which the vessel is unimportant. Enter the splash zone

Nice video dude you really helped me! I have one more question: how do you make it that a sequence of your voice has a volume fade out?
Hey man!! Thanks for your video! Can I ask you why you make multiple tracks with the different effect, instead of busses? Thanks!! Greets
Love this song
So beautiful
raaaaaaaaaaash decisionssssssssss
I'm riding the Red line right now. I will forever think of this song when I board this train. (Much like I think of Jawbox's Green Line Delayed when I ride that line.)
That made me happy for today 👍🏽
YESS
beautiful

Beautiful video. I love how you've re-imagined the studio version of Speak to Me into a live setting. The live version definitely has a DC post-hardcore vibe. The band sounds amazing. And shout-out to the camera work and editing, which is super tight.
Super talented
I have the same vision as you. It would be an honor to join your community <3
Man in a sea full of “creative” tutorial yours actually feels new and different. Nice one
Thank you my friend I’m glad you enjoyed, that means a lot
This is so cool… would you mind explaining how you recorded and mixed that prepared piano? Sounds great
For sure. It’s my grandmothers piano that just happens to sound pretty cool to start with, it’s a super old kawai upright and the dampener pedal darkens it a ton which is engaged in this recording. I stuck the only two mics on it that I had at the time, a warm audio WA47 inside the body of the piano toward the left side, and an SM58 toward the upper keys. Pretty standard treatment just some eq and compression, only weird thing I did was pitch it up an octave on a send before it got to the reverb bus. Hope that was helpful! Thank you for watching
@@goldfishfuneral thank you so much that’s very helpful

I'm really glad I stumbled onto your channel, man. You're a great teacher! You should seriously consider doing more tutorials in this space, like I think you have the potential to build a large audience and I'd personally love to learn more from you.
You ask and I shall deliver scripting a video rn
I sincerely wanna see your music explode man. I came here from a vocal production tutorial and the three tracks I've seen you release on here have been incredible and unique. From another musician from Michigan, I wish you all the best going forward. Keep on keepin' on man =)
That means the world thank you 🙏 gotta get back on my tutorial grind lol
This!!!
This is my favorite new song.

This is the first time I've ever wanted to listen to the full song from a tutorial video. I've been listening to a lot of Bon Iver lately and this right here is on par with the emotions they invoke. Dude, I love ya. Keep on keepin' on!!!
Thank you my friend that means a lot. Haven't been making videos lately but this tune will be on my album that's almost done!
Do you have an Instagram or any social media that you post on?

How are you Jack
@@user5503 good man
awesome video, really enjoyed you explaining every move and your intention behind them!
Amen. What a nice, concise treatment of the subject! Worth noting that almost everything you do to make a track "breath" or "move" or "pop" or however you want to express it ultimately comes down to volume/dynamics. And honestly, it's not just the electronic genres. I think most people would be amazed how many automation envelopes there are on the average vocal-centric pop track. Even something like a jazz trio will have some volume automation on it (when people comment on how "live" something sounds, it's often the result of careful manipulation of the dynamics assisting the phrasing various ways). Sidechain compression is one of the best tricks in the book.
Absolutely! In an earlier draft of this video I touched on that idea more, much was cut in the editing of the script. Dynamics are key in EVERY genre of music in both the recording and mixing stage, I hope I highlighted the fact that even though electronic music is a unique medium it has lots in common with more "traditional" musical styles.
Bro this is good and creative. If you’re in Dc then let’s collab. You have an email or Social?
