I found Astlibra through this video in late 2023 and since then i played through the whole game twice with 100% completion on both playthroughs. 150 hours total and it never got boring or frustrating. Its my second favorite game of all time (Xenoblade Chronicles X on Place 1). Now i am waiting for the DLC Release on Nintendo Switch. Thanks for making this Video and letting more people know about this amazing game.

if only they didnt ban people from being too good at lasting long periods of time in survival, then Warframe would mostly be just the perfect game (minus the fact that I am in the weird inbetween stage of Rivens and arcane farming and not having enough slots or potatoes and like.. trying to get SP started and feeling a bit lost.

I'm a 2k hours veteran that enjoys the game mostly for collecting weapons and warframes and I agree with you. What you mentioned in 3:15 happens a lot to me, inventory space is my most purchased item and I usually traded for plat just when I had 1 missing prime part that couldn't farm. I hate Baro's store because the times that I have been most bored in warframe has been when I farm prime parts to trade for him for those weapons/mods that he only sells. Is just now, after several years, that I have all the weapons and mods from Baro. Because Volt Prime was in Baro's store, I never use it for years because its relics never were available when I was playing. Me not actively participating on the trade with platinum make my experience worse, I think you mentioned that later on the video. Right now, I returned to warframe because the Jade shadows event allowed me to purchase all the arcanes that I never had the time or platinum to get them. I just decided to acquire my potatoes, rivens and more prime parts with plat to avoid burn out, but I still don't enjoy paying for forma or arcane adapters and for that I need to farm forma blueprints, steel essence, vitus essence. There are literally dozens of warframes, companions and weapons that I can't use because I don't have enough resources to make them viable even if I put a potato on them, and I still need to farm to complete a lot of "island" content like Railjack intrinsics, or max rank in one of my mechs.

This video popped up in my recommendations today (Aug 2024). I bought and started playing Astlibra Revision (Jun 2024) based on a 2 hour video Kougaon made. I still haven't finished that video because (despite 50+ hours) I (happily) haven't finished the game. I wish I'd seen this video when it came out. 13:31 I rage finished FFXVI. I've had no issue with the various forms the franchise has taken over the years. Not all of them have been for me, but I respected the experimentation. That said, a sloppy, poorly written/executed story has never been acceptable. [Further rants about the MANY infuriating bits have been removed.]

As a completely free to play player. I agree partially. But, i also have collected and grinded everything and i recently did some math with my brother. We both individually have collected and spent over 20k plat. We got all the cosmetics we want all the frames we want, all the weapons we want and can reach level cap with a few of our builds. It takes time but its not too difficult to do it without spending. It is pay2win. But you can grind for the premium currency pretty easily if you need to.

The only problem i have in warframe is the potatos for all the weapons you need cuz its just painful to get yeah you can do sorties but lets be honest trying to get the catalyst and reactor blueprints and like 6 other things that are added to the loot options is just stupid. in my opinion orokin catalysts and reactors should be more easy to get like how forma is gotten trough relics even if you dont want to not make it that easy at least make it so you can get the blueprints for both of them through a much easier but still challenging way cuz at least it would make it easy on choosing a weapon and experimenting with weapons you want without having to worry if you are gonna use this weapon for a long time or not. yeah besides that i dont really have much issues of warframe besides that cuz it just feels really tiring to be stuck using the same weapon for a long time and having like 8 weapons you wanna try to use but you cant really use them without having like 4 at best

Pay to win WHAT?! We aren't playing against other people, just alongside them. It's literally not possible for this game to be pay to win. The problem Warframe has is that it doesn't do a good job showing you that you don't have to pay anything if you don't want to. But that doesn't change the fact that you don't have to pay anything, and if you are having bad drop rates on certain missions there's always trading. Warframe is NOT pay to win.

Let me get this straight, (I’ve watched only 4 seconds of your video and I paused it.) I’m guessing you’re going to talk about trading and that’s it. Because Rep, Focus, progression, (other than MR) all is in Free to Play territory. Frames and Weapons are not. You could have the most busted meta frame out there. Your operator is still shit regardless. The one thing you’re forgetting it’s that you can trade item-item. It doesn’t have to be plat. To be pay to win, micro transactions must be a core mechanic or play a majority part in said mechanic. DE could take out Plat tomorrow, WF wouldn’t change. So objectively, you’re wrong. If you’re confused why, read what I typed again. Your personal experience, doesn’t mean jack shit, when what you’re complaining about is subjective. So I don’t what game you play daily, but go back to it.

nice analysis. it's important to not give any company an immediate benefit of the doubt for literally anything, because they have a direct incentive to exploit the customer. i wish fans of anything could acknowledge literally harmless feedback without resorting to personal attacks. it's far less stressful to simply acknowledge (preventable) issues with things you like, even if you're personally unbothered. some people should understand that dark patterns aren't meant to be visible, and that they aren't always the target of every predatory practice. lmao

Great video i see now what are the problems you're being troubled are. But i think the fault of these dark pattern are just the lack of information and big mess Warframe itself is and DE management of this issue overtime i would love for a detailed guide over most parts of the game. Like with the weapon adapters they would have a message saying: Hey you dont own this item you can get it in here by doing this or that but if you want this immediately you have the option to buy platinum, in the other part i kinda disagree where you said you were a returning player and didn't know where to get the adapter for free when there is just a Q&A and region chat where you ask for most of the things and people respond about it. I think the fault here would be 50/50 because DE doesn't give enough clearance about the acquisition of items in a free way and by using the pop ups in a malicious way and the player which got no information or didn't look accepts those terms without thinking but this is becoming a massive yapp session so thats my take.

hmmm... i did never recognize those as dark patterns. i always thought of those things as dumb design decisions. but you are right, wether this was intentional or not, those dark patterns are harmful to players and the game.

As a new player ( mr 11 in like 3 weeks ) he is completely right especially about not knowing you can get arcane adapters without paying for them with plat its crazy theres no info on so much stuff its very confusing to get into even though its the best thing ive ever played and its honesty disheartening seeing everyone just keeps saying its okay and somehow not predatory

The crux of whether Warframe is p2w or not is if you consider paying to advance faster p2w or not. Warframe is riddled with pay for convenience content.

Alright, watched the whole video and theres some stuff i have to say or type rather. Whether or not you give a damn about this comment idc. I just want it out there so i can lessen the need for me to think about all this because i have wasted enough of my life from these TLDR: i have thoughts on this video, i like the passion, we should bring this matter to light more often and all this is coming from someone who is nothing but simply passionate about games. For you "Why its fun" please continue to do what you do and I hope DE will dish out changes that will make you and everyone enjoy the game without feeling like were nothing but wallets for the taking Its not my intention to repeat the points in the video, i just wish to share my perspective/opinions 1. First and foremost, bravo. I fukin love your energy, and i can clearly see how passionate you are about all of this. That same passion thats fueling your frustration of the game's and its Devs "mistakes". Lets be honest here, nobody would have ever pointed stuff like that without the same passion and love you have for the game as well as your experience in this space or field. 2. I would also like to believe that DE would fix this. That said, we as a community should work together with DE, in making sure things like this don't get out of hand. As much as I hate and wish that things shouldn't have been a problem in the first place, if the problems aren't brought out to light and reinforced, the problems will just grow and eventually burst in a very tragic way, and when it does, it'll definitely leave scars that isn't healthy for the game at all. The Devs have been shown to listen to the community at times and genuinely want to make the game better for its users, so we shouldn't take this for granted and fully communicate with them as well. Whether they do anything or not is still up to DE themselves 3. All of this, is not coming from an experienced programmer or someone from the field of business or marketing. I am not a master nor a skilled player at fps or other genres nor am I a big shot of gaming. No, I am simply a person who has a lot of free time and plays a lot of games and has a lot of passion regarding them. Constantly interested in both the game and its creators not limited to just warframe but whole plethora of genres and communities and genuinely wanting games to just have no problems if possible. I am and have been only keeping one or 2 games to grind and others to simply comeback to every now and then(typical). Which has led me to move from one game to the next not because i was bored of it, but that I had enough of supporting a game that clearly doesn't give a damn about its players. Recently i opt out of MOBA games, i know, they arent the best when it comes to delivering a point about ethical marketing but League or LoL I had praised for having fair prices coming from a game that has checked of every dark pattern in the list before, even more so in their card game version LoR which was a game you can get everything it offered for free(except for cosmetics of course) which blew my mind, to now the predatory moves like the 500$ skin that was also FOMO disguised in an event that was supposed to be congratulating the literal face of the game's esport and whats worse is that i could go on about shit like this. Now, I've fairly recently started playing warframe, and guess what? I had also nearly fallen into the exact predicament in the video with the only saving grace was that i didn't had enough plat at the time. Sure, we can be blamed for not being vigilant, not looking at the wiki or being too impatient but why was there nothing to negate that mistake nor fix it once the transaction has gone through. If you've read this far then i can fairly assume you care about this just as much as I do, and its not that we hate game, but rather our love for the game that frustrates when little things like this that could have been avoided happens and has been for a very long time. 5. I understand what you're saying, as a new player it would be weird. Could definitely lead one to believe that you had to buy it. That said, as an old head, it's exactly how I want it. I personally know that I can grind for stuff. I know if I have something or not. If I click on something it's cause I want to spend the ungodly amount of plat i've got.(That I have from selling prime parts on the market, btw) So I don't have to grind it out. DE has always been trying to get the new UE up to snuff. Unfortunately, I feel like making it known where to acquire items for free takes a back seat to needing to read the wiki to figure out how to actually play.

It's an interesting video as I never really paid attention to it. I have been playing Warframe since it came out and I have maybe spent platinum by accident up 3 times, which given the decade warframe has been going for, I'd say is really good numbers. I see your point in why you focus on UI in the modding screen not having it added to your inventory instead of being used, however, it got me thinking of the times I did accidentally spend platinum on purchases and in those cases, it has always been these cheap ~20 plat purchases which is basically 1 trade away from you getting back in Warframe. Unless I fail to notice it, Warframe only faces this issue in regard to adapters since they are applied on purchase in the modding screen so something so particular is only an issue for the newest of players, and even then, rarely will you find someone making the mistake and not being to work right past it due to the ethos of trading allowing you to make it back at any point. The discussion then seems to revolve around the point of how much value you assign to that 20 platinum as the majority of players get it for free and even if you were to buy it, the value buying platinum from DE with the constant discounts comes down to these numbers: 75 platinum bundle, worth 4.49 is discounted to 1.13 euro. Purchasing that bundle values 1 platinum at ~0.015 cents. So at 20 platinum, a mistake costs you 30 cents worth of value, getting even cheaper if we value it by bigger packs. I'm all for transparency so I would not assign to malice something that at worst can cost you 1 dollar or euro in a lifetime

as for the whole you double tap and its done this did happened to me but not with warframe but with wuwa ofcourse its not the case with stamina but its with the summon currency instead of doing the limited summon orbs I did the standard one twice now wasted 6 summons on standard characters I didn't even want to summon, so if anything this problem exist around every game even if we want to deny it if arcane adapters is the only problem just remember that it also exist in other games and not only in warframe

As a WF Vet resident FashionFramer and self-aware whale I must say that this and your previous video are quickly becoming some of my favorite WF content. I love the game and i can say with out a doubt that the game has the best player economy i have seen but there has always bin some underling distaste for the monetization that i personally could never articulate that both videos combined perfectly express. thank you, your passion and perspective are refreshing and i fill much needed in the community.

Warframe is one of the best F2P games still. Also yet you have committed a deadly sin: you said that Honkai Star Rail (HSR) is better in terms of ways to spend money. WRONG. HSR has one of the worst monetization systems speaking in terms of value/money relation. In HSR you CAN NOT obtain characters (that are specifically made stronger every time they come out) by just grinding. Also in HSR pricing is ridiculously high, better spend the same money for adult* animations with the same characters, you'll get significantly more value out of it.

Warframe has been the truest example of a “free to play” game there is. For you to try to call out a f2p game like this out for “dark patterns” is hilarious. I’ve not spent more than 200 bucks on my account in all the years of me playing and that’s because of the open market system that’s implemented. If you have impulse control issues sure I’d see playing a game like warframe as an issue as with any other game these days. But if you have a reasonable control on your impulses then the discounts and fast track purchases will always just be a minor nuisance. That’s what an economy is… It’s up to you as a customer to decide when and where to make a purchase and where and how to apply said purchase. Do you know how many times I’ve paid for a item and not read the instructions only to mess it up and have to repurchase said item? Is it then the manufacturers fault? I think this entire video can be summed up to “user error” There’s a questions tab in the chat section when not in a active mission. Use it.

You can get every single piece of content in the game for free, tell me another company that does this. I buy plat to buy forma bundles and potatoes because I have every single gun and warframe built and I enjoy modding them and want to keep the lights on for people like you who can only bitch about a free game that somehow needs to generate revenue to be maintained. At legendary ranks you can make a couple hundred plats a day just trading. The only dark pattern was excalibur prime and the first two heirloom skins iirc. They even patched the kubrow reroll gamba machine

In one game, you can get a lot of content free and from different places. Characters, arcanes, and so on. In WuWa (and all those casino's) you A) pay 300€ for 1 character (way more for the character and the weapon) or 2) do you chores (yay) and wait 6 months to 1 year. (and I play both Warframe and WuWa). I DO agree with you that the things you showed need to be fixed/changed. It's not even that hard. Either add a confirmation button, or keep the same but "hold" to buy. You can even add the 2-3sec waiting time you have in the trading system. They def need to correct it, like they changed the kubrow mechanics that mde ppl gamble for that feature back then. 38:44 For the arcanes vendors, yes it's not well explained but you're searching it the wrong way. Arcanes are a thing when you begin to do steel path missions/alerts. Then you discover a new ressource (the cubic white thingy). You realise you need to trade it to teshin and discover you can trade it for cosmetics, arcanes and so on. Still I'm glad videos like that exist to show stuff that can be improved. Honestly ? The whole UI of Warframe is a bit of a mess. It's a mix of the old UI with the new one. Nothing is complete on that front (it's been years like that). 1 little advice if I could, make the video more condense. 1h is way too long. I watched in 1.25 speed and I almost never do that.
