The bass is a J&D JB75 With D'addario Flatwounds, and I am running through a CNZ Compressor, Overdrive and Bass EQ to my Fender Rumble 25 Amp. Sorry It seems like it is out of sync at the end... I had to cut down the 6m version to the 5m version I played. Thanks for watching!

This was a totally improv lead bassline that I threw together. The backing bass kinda sounds a little off in the bridge, I think the muddy tone was created when octaving and when messing with the audio during editing. Lead Bass: Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar bass Backing Bass: J&D JB75 from CNZ Audio the lead is run straight through my Fender Rumble 25 with a little bit of overdrive. The backi...

    Jag is way cool. I just got a CV and it quickly became #2 of my collection. Previously, snob labels were my only interest. Squier is all about quality, now. Good piece, smooth.

    SOLD. Thanks for the great review, man! I was still a little bit on the fence. I'm not anymore. Hope I'll get one as good as yours... One remark, though -- and don't take it personally, you're really not alone: you obviously love (your) bass so you really don't have to fight with it that way! Work on relaxing and your playing will go through the roof! Been there... :) Suggestion: google "Keeping Your Left Hand Relaxed: 11 Tips for Bass Players" (NoTreble post) + watch players you admire and who play sometimes very difficult stuff staying really loosey-goosy... Flea is a very very bad example in that respect. ;)

    When you pop you should move your whole hand up when pulling the string instead of just your finger, will help you play slap alot faster.

    • @bigbass1319
      @bigbass1319 4 роки тому

      Agree to disagree, less movement makes it so you dont have to move back as far and waste more time

    BASS player here, single coils tend to be noisy, split coil ( humbuckers ) have less noise and more low end. Run a noise gate at the start of your chain.

    Great review the jazz pickup will have more noise being that it's a single coil. Compared to the precision pickup that is a humbucker and bucks the hum the single coil would make. The output is likely lower on the single coil accounting for less volume. I noticed that some of my guitars with are underwound pickups get quieter.

    • @bigbass1319

      Fender owns squier, and uses squier as their "entry level" brand, so thats why you see the lower prices and lesser quality. However, they are still excellent instruments!

      Yeah active basses tend to be something people stay away from in fear of the 9v going out at an inconvenient time. I have had other active basses and they just eat through the batts. This one did considerably better, to I figured I would mention it! Thanks for watching!

    Why not buy the same bass directly from musicstore.de (who makes J&D basses) as opposed to cnzaudio. CNZ's final price is $50 more than musicstore for the same bass

    • @bigbass1319

      Thank You for your interest. I have a few reasons. First, that is a German site, and shipping costs must be through the roof to get it over the ocean to the US (that is assuming they are based in Germany) next, I do have some connections with CNZ audio, and they are based locally here in the midwest USA. Also, notice the values that CNZ is built on. It is a first generation family business that is doing an excellent job and is also working with ministries for the people of Uganda. I fell like when I buy from them I am a part of helping those who need to hear the gospel. If you would like to read more about CNZ audio, here is a link to their website: www.cnzaudio.com/about-us/ . Along with selling guitars, they also make some really good pedals and other guitar accessories that I have featured on my channel. Go ahead and check out some of my other videos to see those. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this video, and If you are interested in this bass, I cannot recommend it enough no matter where you buy it from. Thank You for your time!

      Thanks for the reply and reasonable answer. Good video with lots of detail on specs. How high is the action on the bass and did you have to adjust it at all? Also, did you experience any fret buzz anywhere?

    • @bigbass1319
      @bigbass1319 6 років тому

      The action out of the box was just great for me. If anything, It was a bit on the higher side but that is also sometimes my preference. Through my reviews I have been in contact with CNZ audio, and the let me know that every one of their guitars is hand-checked for fret buzz and action, as well as sharp frets are sanded, etc. Although these guitars look and sound great, they are from china, and It really stands out how CNZ wants you to have the best first experience with your new instrument. Also, the necessary tools to adjust the action are included for your further refinement. Thanks for your interest!
