Two large-ish bags and one smaller bag of fabric. The two larger were originally marked $10 and were marked down to $5, while the smaller bag was $5. This is a continuation of the stuff I got in a single haul when I bought five $5 bags and the $6 bag.

    That haul was a walk down memory lane. Love the pink/ turquoise double knit. Double knits are great for lasting power but the polyester is so hot to wear...good winter fabric. Have fun with the other bags. Can't wait to see. Bargain at $5.

      The turquoise and pink was one of my favorites too. A quilt top I got in another haul was made up of double knit squares - the suggestion was to make it a picnic blanket since it is fairly rugged.

      I think scraps are great. I usually get several pieces that are over a yard and lots of variety, even if the pieces are small. I make a lot of doll clothes so the small stuff is great. Since a lot of nicer fabrics are 9.99 a yard and up, I know I've gotten some awesome deals. Plus, I really enjoy thrifting and so for me it's just like any other hobby that costs a bit of money. Thanks for watching!

    The "canvas" could be used as the base for belts or wide cuff bracelets. Not sure if they are too thick for beading by hand, but you could glue larger items/beads/lace/etc . onto it; attach a belt buckle & have custom-made belt. Or use as straps for tote bags.

    After buying a 3 yard piece of fabric I LOVED @ a thrift store that was wrapped in masking tape & 60 % ruined by residue I swore " Never again". Stayed true to that vow for 20+ years. If it isn't wrapped in plain white fabric or has a tag attached I reject it. Have told many a store employee/manager they made the fabric unusable, thus unsellable by doing the tape wrap. I take no prisoners & make no apologies. I've worked in a thrift store, I'm a sewer & crafter. Don't destroy the merchandise, then complain it isn't selling!

    • @KorinKreates

    I think the old cotton quilt top was a great find. Take it apart and find the name of the pattern ( the library would have books with patterns). Use the block you've saved to make a scale pattern ( you'll need a ruler and gridded paper). There are several ways to then make blocks, assemble the blocks, add a border then think about quilting ( there are several ways to do that). It's a long process but none of the steps are difficult. Forget about the double knit stuff, it's not worth your time. If you need help with this project go to the nearest quilt shop. Nice haul of sewing stuff. Good luck! h

    • @KorinKreates
      @KorinKreates 7 місяців тому

      Finding the pattern actually is a good idea, it isn't one I've seen before so it would give assembly suggestions. I have 20+ quilting books (more thrift finds) so I hope I'll be able to find it there. I'm going to hand wash it first to see how much of the fabric I'll be able to use, I'm just waiting for some warmer weather. I have several other quilt tops I found so I'll probably make a day of it. For the double-knit, someone suggested making it into a beach/picnic quilt with maybe a denim on the other side so I think I'll go that route since I'd love to have a blanket for that purpose.

The red check fabric, the pretty stripe towards the end, would be good for Raggedy Andy's shirt & the stripe for both Raggedy Ann & Andy on the legs & there was some black for the shoes! I would make doll clothes, some dolls, stuffies & maybe pouches, wallets, & purses. I don't make adult or children clothes anymore. Getting too old. But a small quilt. Also, some for Seniors to keep busy with zippers & buttons, etc, on them, even a face with hair on it to brush or make into braids. A wallet that zips opens or a button. Maybe even velcro! Anyway, a few ideas! You probably know most of them. Thanks for sharing! ♥️☺️🫂🐾🦉🍄🧶🧵🪡🖌🖼📚✨️

      The dolls are a really cute idea. I have a set of patterns for those dolls too. I've been working on some dolls clothes for my niece so this haul definitely had pieces I can use and I'm working on a video showing some of those.

    That red silk fabric would make a fancy comforter or bedspread for a doll. That's so exciting all those dresden plate quilt pieces!

      I think it might be the perfect size for a comforter. When I saw how many quilt pieces were in that bag I was just shocked. Thanks for the right quilt name, my quick search for a name didn't work out.
