Out of all the trains, the S stock has the least aggressive doors. I love how the doors on each train sorta fit into the character of each of the lines they run on The 72 stock doors start slowly but then speed up and then slam and they feel kinda lazy, sort of like the Bakerloo line The 73 stock doors are smooth and fast reflecting how it's a busy line The 92 doors are fast and unpredictable too just like the crowding on that line The 95 and 96 doors are extremely aggressive though slow down when they're nearly fully open or fully closed The 09 stock doors are smooth, fast and controlled, just like the rest of the Victoria line Meanwhile the S stock doors are a lot less aggressive and a lot slower, just like the subsurface lines in general.

Tbh growing up the reason of why loved this train was not only its style, but the whirring noise of the Motors. I dont know why, but it was my most favourite sound on the National Rail.

That’s the MetCam variant, I don’t think their motors were replaced. Only the 0 and 1 variants had their motors replaced. As a side note, I used to think that I was the only one who thought some networkers sounded like javelins. Later I learnt that I wasn’t, and why said sounds are similar - Hitachi.

Personal Opinion: The Javelin Networkers are overhated, I think they sound just as good as the BR-era motors.

I love the 321s because the sounding is best, has first class, riding quality and I am not going on the class 720 due to replacing old trains

Why the platform doors are uneven 2:31

I think That TFL need to add platform edge doors on every underground station like the ones on the jubilee line extension and the New Elizabeth line to stop people from being pushed or jumping in front of trains.

I have always been fascinated with Platform Screen Doors. My first time seeing them in person was the Dubai Metro back in 2014, and a few days later, the Jubilee Line Extension in London. I later visited Singapore in 2017 as well, and was thrilled to hear that they will be opening early next year in my city Melbourne, as part of the new Metro Tunnel project. They are just so futuristic.

You missed a point that the stations you showed with the sliding doors are in the bankers part of town….why …because this is where a lot of s*icides were happening in the 90s linked to people losing money at the stock exchange- these stations haven’t become the standard though the Victoria line was regenerated and these doors weren’t put in and even we’ve got a new Elizabeth line and it isn’t like this all the way though

A fantastic vid and one for memory lane for me. I worked at the old Stratford depot as a drivers assistant 1978 to 83. I am impressed by the 720. However for me,, it's the very old 312 units that remain ultra modern,, well in my mind anyway 😂 Thanks for a wonderful video and I look forward to more

Southwest455 the class 465/0-1 have hitachi engines and if you want to go on the class 465 with orange poles, first class section and original Alstom motors make sure you catch the class 465/2-9’s and you could make a video of TSW2/3/4 of you driving a class 465/9’s!
