This is the hack I have been talking about. Radiant barrier inside and out of the cooler keeps the ice longer

I was just gonna use a couple of emergency blankets to line my cooler and then use a bag clip to seal it up like a bread bag. What do you think about that?

OK like your were in Denver at 32℉ overnight. Did you go down to the flats or up in the mountains which are even colder and probably refroze all that ice every night. I know it colder than crap up there. Not saying your hacks arn't good but should flatlanders expect the same results .

Where do you put food and drink ? It's 60% frozen water bottles

much more efficient to put the reflective on the outside to keep the top cooler. Also, put reflective on bottom where it meets the ground.

What brand is the cooler and how many quarts is it?

That much ice shud hold for a month

Did you use an adhesive on the lid reflective foil? If, what did you use? I would guess the reflective material ‘envelope’ is not attached to the cooler?

What works well to is instead of plywood, I use the rubbermaid closet shelving. Allows cold air circulate upwards. Nice video my man.

Now all you need is 2 more people to put that 500 lb cooler in the truck

I didn't see insulation on the bottom where the losses are highest, but I did see insulation on the lid where the losses are lowest.

Should of used the blue Styrofoam for low temp insulating. The silver is best for exterior and reflecting uv rays.

On hunting trips,we put our beer in coolers so it doesn't freeze.

I heard that one of the reasons ice stays longer in a Yeti type cooler is there is about a half inch clearance on the bottom so the majority of the bottom is off the ground. Next time put it on some bricks or 2x4's. The bricks won't conduct heat as much.

What was the average air temperature outside? I heard the nights were cool. I wonder if throwing a tarp of the reflective material over the cooler would help on sunny days? Might spook the local wildlife though.

Have the same cooler.I made a cutting board to fit the lip on the inside and that helped alot.Next will be the foil insulation.Also did the foil in a cheap boat cooler and that helped also.Used two layers of foil,it's thin and cheap .Just make sure you can remove it for cleaning.

that's pretty cool. This is assuring that I won't need to pay a fortune for the cooler itself and then not have enough money to pay for the food that goes into the cooler. I wanna try this. Thanks for sharing.
