    What's the advantage of a titanium handle over a hickory handle? Hard to justify the price of titanium for me. "Wood handles break" isn't really a problem for me because I use pry bars for prying.

    The only reason for putting your thumb behind the handle is when you’re nailing above your head. I be been a carpenter for over 50 years. Grip it properly for best results, not with your thumb behind the handle.

    For that money you can buy a nail gun. Then who needs a framing hammer. My plumb 13 has lasted decades. You had to modify the claw! Ridiculous

    Part of the reason it drives nails better, I'm assuming is because the hammer face is angled slightly for a more solid hit vs sometimes glancing blows with other non angled hammer faces. Equating to less nails getting bent over while driving them in with the hammer. Just my two cents. Real happy with my custom gold Martinez

    I first purchased mine for drywall installation. I’ve been doing this for years. I was tired of carrying big lumpy pouches on both sides. I liked it so much that I purchased another one for my second set of tool pouch for small framing projects. Word of advice, unless you are hanging upside down with your pouches attached, that chisel won’t fall out.

    If anyone is wondering, this buckaroo works with the occidental leather suspenders however you will need to use the accessories it comes with at least on the back side of the belt because it has 3 loops for the suspenders instead of 4. But the 2 in the front will work

    I have considered a Stilleto hammer for my finish carpentry company, the tool dealer in my area steered me away form the brand, the owner broke a tooth pounding a framing nail. The warranty was voided because he used the hammer, another used the teeth to pull a nail broke them off, again the warranty was voided due to miss use, should of used the side pull feature instead try to get you to buy a Martinez. the warranty covers the hammer with no fault within reason usage. Thanks for the video.

    The outer belt is not leather. If you look in the prong holes you will notice fibers indicating it is TPU or PVC coated webbing which is better than leather. The glossy/textured area on the signature belt is also coated webbing merely in a translucent finish. The main belt attachment infront is the only leather on this belt. Biothane is a good example of a company specializing in TPU and PVC coated load bearing webbings. Leather, no matter the type, will break down quickly with chemicals and sweat so Buckaroo opted for the most resilient option that is more durable than leather and actually load rated to carry weight. Many horse bridles are made from Biothane and the like. The leather portion of the Buckaroo belt is similar to a full grain Double Shot leather where it is treated through with wax and or oils before dye. This leaves a buttery soft finish and good water resistance but it will break down over time/stretch.

    Dude I love my m1 martinez hammer, I do concrete forms, and gotta say it's been a hell of an improvement over the hammers I was rocking before, I was using 22 oz hammers from steel to fiber glass handles and the martinez to me has such a great handle, the weight of the hammer is no different then the heavy hammer I was using, my hits are harder and I love that nail puller on the side, and the hammer is way lighter then what I was using

    I literally have the same bags setup. Left side is a dream, right side has been a struggle for years. I’m running the stronghold shoulder straps and the belt less system and I love that. My issued is the nylon belt in the rear of the belt less system angles the hammer loop so it’s really annoying to get it in. I’ve tried other occidental bags and add ons on my right but nothing has ever been as good as my left. Anyways I’ve decided to order a diamondback right side pouch with their hammer holster and try that.

      The diamondback pouch is awesome, just needs to break in a bit more. I’ve only had it a few weeks. The hammer holster keeps the pouch riding nicely at my side. The rest of the pockets and holders are in intuitive spots. I also got their gun loop for hanging drills or nailers and it’s a sweet bit of kit. I think I finally found “the one” lol. It’s the Talon pouch that I got.

    • @FunkYoLifeUp
      @FunkYoLifeUp 2 роки тому

      @@jonathanpopham5483 been using my new setup for about a month now. Love it. The hammer holster makes my bag rest in place and doesn’t swing it forward or backward like a traditional hammer loop has been. The bag sits pretty tight to the body but the pouches open up when you need to place or grab a tool. They are still breaking in in that way but not issues there. It’s way easier to draw and sheath the hammer, hard to explain but it’s a very ergonomic action to do. (I call it that now because it’s like drawing a sword and sheathing it when you put your hammer away hahaha) I picked up diamondback’s clip on gun loop as well. Great for hanging a framing nailer, drill or brad nailer.

    I respect all of the work, insight, design, etc. I'm on my 3rd stiletto. My first had the same thing, the claw was fucked from chipping concrete. 2nd Ti-bone 2 because of the claw issue, after about 5 -6 years anyway. 3rd because I lost the 2nd during foundation work for months. A coworker ended up finding it, surprisingly. One thing not to do as an apprentice fyi, is grab your coworkers shit and just start smashing the claw on shit, or any tool really. I honestly didn't like the way the martinez is weighted. I like to keep my swinging hand basically on the very end of the hammer, unlike this video. There is no right way to do it, but I find I get a little extra power, with a lot less work than my last standard hammer, 28 oz estwing. to each their own. i'm not switching until retirement from the ti-bone 3. I might have to buy 3 or 4 more.. but it would be worth it.

    • @codyolmstead4907

      @@gisi834 Yes. All titanium except the face.... Including the claw which is why a lot of people are steering away from it. With the. Martinez the whole top assembly is replaceable. To each their own though. The m-1 is still a solid hammer. If it was my first high end hammer if you will, I probably wouldn't like the feel of the ti-bone series.

      @@codyolmstead4907 - i get what you mean re the weight. I personally prefer head weighted because the follow through on the swing is better for me. It wacks! I also much prefer the thinner handle. Both these attributes work well for me. And I also prefer the all steel head vs the titanium one. The ears, you know, the ears.
