Any flag that is damaged or touched the ground is to be turned into your local veterans hall, they keep them and once or twice a year take all the flags that are being cremated take to be burned in a crematorium and ashes are buried in a proper place. Or at least that’s what we were told in Boy Scouts in my days.

In 1976, when she and Frank married, Barbara was looking very good indeed for a woman pushing 50. My goodness, she was a glamorous woman and by the accounts here, a generous and socially conscious citizen.

I used to work at an FBO, fixed base operator, where private planes fly in from large jets to single engine planes. A large jet arrived and on the plane was written "Lady Barbara". When talking to the pilot, he told me it was Frank Sinatras plane. I received matches from that plane which I treasure because I was a big FS fan.

How was Barbara sinatra a legend

In 1991 I saw Barbara in a concert by her husband. She stood up, she was dressed in bright yellow. She would have taken a lot from Frank especially during his moods.

I used to see her driving here Rolls Royce Corniche down hwy 111 and she looked fabulous even in old age.

God bless Barbara Sinatra. May she Rest In Perfect Peace. She was a wonderful woman. She will be deeply missed.

I don’t think Barbara Sinatra could be remotely classified a “Hollywood Legend” as the reporter suggested. She was married to a Hollywood legend but was not a legend herself. Just ask Frank Sinatra’s daughters their opinion. They tell a much different version of who she was, at least in their eyes.

me and this group of girls (1st grade- senior year) (almost like a girl scout group but not really) take in flags people dont use, or that need to be retired. as a group well cut the stripes and roll them up, and everyone takes 2. us older girls will read about what each color of the flag represents and whoever has a blue cut will step up and throw it into the flame. then whoever has a red stripe will throw it into the flame. and so on with the white stripe. the younger kids are confused but us older girls cry every time.

Fun fact: the song you’re a grand old flag! Had an old lyric “You’re a grand old flag though you’re torn to a rag! And forever in peace may you wave!”

I may not look it but I went through Cub and Boy Scouts in the 1970's and I specifically remember that the stars were to be buried and the stripes burned. Nowadays, they burn everything. when did that change?

I have always folded it triangle pattern then burned it. Ty i never knew the cut method or to let the fire burn out.

Baden Powell wasn't the founder of the BSA but the scouting movement. He was a British army General. He did inspire the creation of the bsa though. Also those scouts have old uniform decorations. The shoulder loops are red but they haven't been that way for more than a decade. Also the troop number is red but that's only supposed to be for cubs with navy uniforms. The scout uniforms have tan and olive numbers. Also tge one kid is wearing his tote and fire chits on his pockets but the right one is supposed to be for OA flaps and tge left one us meant to be empty.

Why do Americans get all bent out of shape about all this and yet loads of people wear the American flag despite the fact that the same rule book that says it shouldn’t touch the ground also states it shouldn’t be used as wearing apparel or bedding
