Wild weather & nature video from the Black Hills in South Dakota. ua-cam.com/channels/t_ZE7jIz700P2MxwEmB5Wg.html
If you're reading this, you probably love weather. Wild weather is one of the main reasons I moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota in 2016. Since then, no year has been the same. So if you like seeing crazy cloud timelapses, unique weather phenomenon, massive snow storms and more... you're in luck! If you ever have any questions or just feel like chatting about the weather, PLEASE reach out! -Evan

Alright, I've made a few snowflake photography videos (see here ua-cam.com/video/uQeY-19SmIY/v-deo.html , here ua-cam.com/video/_9vjA3Dpggg/v-deo.html , and here ua-cam.com/video/TjX3BoitneA/v-deo.html ) but people are ALWAYS surprised when I show them how simple the setup for shooting these is. You don't need expensive stuff to get amazing results! The gear I used here:
Canon T2i (garage sale purchase, $10)
Canon 18-55mm kit lens (same garage sale)
58mm reversing ring ($10 on ebay)
Macro focusing rails ($25 on amazon)
Induro CT414 tripod ($300 used, worth every penny on every shoot)
Buckets, glass, headlamp, all from around the house.
As for the editing, as you can see, it's only a few simple steps! Clean it up, invert the color, colorize, and save. I also recently purchased a macro lens for my cell phone, so let me know in the comments if you'd like to see me shoot a video using that gadget! We're in the dead of winter here in South Dakota, so we've gotta make the most of it :)

This compilation of clips encompasses some of my best shots, mostly flying around the Black Hills of South Dakota. It's an incredibly useful tool for storm chasing, landscape photography, and so much more. I ...

Pulling a '68 CHARGER from the WEEDS

"So much torque, the chassis TWISTED coming off the line." Yes, this is primarily a channel about weather and nature. But recently, our friend Sean bought his dream car, a '68 Charger! He's already begun piecing it back together, an undertaking that I'd be nowhere near ambitious enough for. I know he's already got the doors and hood back on, and has begun some work on the paint. Updates to come!
What a True 10/10 Sunset Looks Like
Переглядів 77Місяць тому
What else can I say? This one blows most other sunsets I've seen right out of the water. We were positioned behind a low pressure system which was bringing rain to the eastern part of the state. The sunset predictor (sunsetwx.com) didn't do an amazing job, but for once I was glad to see it be wrong! These fiery colors glowed for nearly an hour, and it was one of the few times I've seen our neig...

Tons of Satellites PHOTOBOMB Rare Comet 🛰️

With more people than ever observing the night sky, I've noticed many pointing out the number of planes and/or satellites when viewing A3. I'm used to seeing a few satellites traversing my timelapse frames, but the number caught in this sequence from last night (Oct 15th) seems truly astounding. Shot at 50mm, I wanted to catch the comet coming out of the over-exposed twilight before the nearly-...

A Cheap Macro Setup Captures THESE Snowflake Images
Amazing! @16:20 is my favorite. When I take snowflake pictures I sometimes use a colored light above to give it colored highlights as well as using your trick to get bottom illumination. Also, you can probably change the background color in lightroom to give some variety. I like a blue or purple background.
I stream this video every day at work, it helps me relax ❤
Thats pretty wild looking for a relatively small fire!
Yeah, it helps that it occurred on such a prominent hill! Now it's got baby aspens popping up.
@EvanLudes small fires in a well managed forest are usually a good thing in the long term.
That's super cool!
I see what you did there 🧊😎
@EvanLudes i was going to text you and tell you to do this. I saw a video of it the other day, yours is better!
Looks like we'll have ample opportunity with this next arctic blast 🥶
@EvanLudes i might have to give it a go with my one lens lol I got all the stuff to do pictures of snow flakes and still haven't tried it yet.
Holly crap batman 😳 crap 😳
Gonna be a fun project, already got the next update video up on "Get it Running" @SeanAndEvan

Mark of the beast? 🤔
hi good luck with the charger i would not use the old gas tank get a new one and take your time a lot of body work to do ok.
I'll have to check with Sean on the gas tank. Believe it or not it already god some body work done! Not gonna be a show car but it's looking WAY straighter than when we picked it up!
The has tank is no good... it's smashed and has a hole in it. Definitely will be getting a new one! Be sure to follow along for updates!
Very cool project, it will make a fun driver on the road.
Sean just picked up an engine this weekend... gonna be a good one!
This car needs everything. I hope it gets restored. Most of the time people run out of ambition and money or run into health or family problems and the car doesn't get finished. There are hundreds of projects laying around half finished. People don't realize what it takes to completely restore a older car.
Yeah, it's a huge undertaking. I've got one of those projects sitting in my garage right now. Luckily Sean has the know-how and ambition to see this thing through. It'll come together faster than most! Especially if I keep bugging him to film updates 😏
From what I could see it didn't look all that bad. Floors looked bad but overall pretty good.
Have certainly seen far worse, especially being in the midwest! I think it'll be a great cruiser.
First off congrats on buying the greatest muscle car ever IMHO. Second you got more work than you’ll ever know to do that car right😂 Third it’ll be worth it! I’ve wanted one since I was 17,I’m 54 now and still don’t have one. Almost bought a full resto years ago for 52K,how I wish I snagged that one. Best of luck on the build, walk away and take a break when it gets to be too much. Even with skills these things can break the bank. Enjoy it
Haha thanks for watching, Johnny! Sean's family has been building cars for generations, so I know he's got what it takes! Unlike me, who has a classic sitting in the garage essentially untouched for the last two years 😅
I loved watching your videos! 🌟 A bit of SEO tweaking could bring in more views and subscribers. Want help optimizing your channel? I’d love to help!
Appreciate you reaching out! Happy to be learning as I go. UA-cam is certainly a fun challenge.
68 rt is my fav car ever made. Keep the vids coming
We certainly will! Got some announcements coming up. Got done shooting an update video last week and excited to share more.
Definitely looks like it's got "air"...😂
Open concept is all the rage these days 🤣🤣
Some incredible scenes in here buddy! Thanks for reminding me how bad I need a new drone lol
Thanks Chris! It was fun to sift through the archives. Honestly forgot all about the "follow me" mode until finding the clip of Sarah and I hiking. Need to use that more!
Beautiful. Fantastic filming. Merry Christmas to you and your family. God Bless.
Merry Christmas, Carol! 🎄Thanks for watching as always :) Anything you're looking forward to seeing more of (on UA-cam or otherwise) next year?
Wow! Great job man! Almost felt lake a Nat Geo documentary at times
Thanks dude! I really really felt like I should be doing some dramatic Attenborough voiceover 😅
You live in such a beautiful place.
Sometimes it's hard to pick what to shoot! I'd love to be able to dedicate more time to the artsy side of things someday.
I am your #1 subscriber, my middle name is Evan! Hello, Evan!
Well thanks for being here, my fellow Evan! 👋
Oh my goodness, I did this very thing once back in 2005... I had a 1969 charger pulled from a farmer's field after who knows how long it needed everything and by the time I was done I think I spent something between 60 and 70,000... Granted it was very nice when it was done but I sold it too early and only got 45,000... If I held on to it long enough obviously it would be worth 80 or 90,000 today... That I have this horrible reputation of bailing out on finished projects before the value comes back.
Hindsight is always 20/20! At least you have the memories and experience of such a cool project. Just be sure to tell us what you're about to bail on next time, so we can know what's about to double in value 😂 Working on anything new these days?
@EvanLudes as a matter of fact I just listed my 1951 Ford 2 door sedan ... I'm probably 40 something thousand deep into this car and it is very nice, but I don't even think I could get 30 for her at this point
@@jackierabbit450 seems like stuff from the 50s is super under-appreciated. I'm sure my Scout from the 60s is next lol. Luckily not terribly deep into that, and Sean and I can do a lot of the work ourselves.
@@EvanLudes yes the scout is about to become the next bronco I think! I remember my neighbor when I was a kid had a copper colored scout and we used to love hopping in that thing and bouncing around all over the place... I remember he used to take that scout hunting along with his two Brittany spaniels. As 5-year-olds we just like getting in the back and giggling when it bounced around over ruts and bumps... The sad thing is I do actually still have a shop, and I could do all of the work myself, my dad is there and would help me anytime I want, but I'm working so much at three different businesses that I've started that my time is so limited I have no time to do anything for myself these days. But I figure as long as I'm making good money at my medical practices I could just pay somebody to do what I want that way they earn a good living and I get the thing I wanted without having to break my fingernails in the process... That and I just feel like I'm getting too old for crawling around under cars.
That'll buff out.
Right? Might need a little percussive maintenance 😂
My favorite one is the black 63 Impala
Excellent pick, that black looks so good 💯
I'm defiantly in the old school camp. I just don't get the new cars... Another Nice video Evan!
Thanks Brad! New cars are mostly under-powered boxes of plastic... one of the reasons I'm glad we haven't sold the '05 WRX. Fun to drive after the '22 Pilot lol
The red Camero I have blue one just like black dog
Heck yeah! Love Camaros. There's a rally up here every year. What year is yours?
6:34 71 Charger 10:03 68 Charger 11:12 2011 and up Charger
There's some beauties in there! Didn't even realize how many Chargers there were myself until editing pics.
This makes me want an old project car haha. Good stuff!
It can be a lot of fun! And also a lot of headaches lol
Love it! Kids to geezers cruising! You need to get your Scout out there and cruise with Sean and his Challenger! I'll bring my WRX/STi
We'll get it going! These are always fun. Lots of people park at the businesses along Mt Rushmore Rd and watch the cruise. Sonic is usually a popular spot, of course :)
We've had a few like this lately too, thanks for sharing dude!
I didn't have a sweet foreground like you!
Gotta be in the top 1% of the top 10. Annnnd, if you run the video backwards its in the top 1% of the top 10 again. Lol!
That math definitely checks out! 😋
I am a seventy five year old man who ran the wheels off of them. I never cared for that unibody style cars. I wish they had used galvanizing on them so the rust didn't chew them up.
Think of how many more cars would be on the road today if it was galvanized steel... if only!
@@EvanLudes You might find it funny that the ford motor company did start the galvanization of steel yet only used it on one factory and sadly I do not remember the one it was... lol, not detroit for sure!!
@@morgansword meanwhile we've got a Scout, that probably had rusty metal before it was even off the line 😅
@@EvanLudes Ah, names for these two... lone ranger and tonto... I know.... lame/LOL. Most of the scouts tho did have enough metal before paint or other decorations came on them were thicker steel. Late sixties scouts kinda look like the new bronco odd front ends.
@@morgansword yeah, the new looks like the old and the old looks like the new haha. Broncos copied the Scout's homework ;) Excited to see the new factory making Scouts going up in SC next year, even if they're basically Rivians.
Yeee Yeee 😊😊😊😊
🤟🤟🤟
She's got some whiskey dents, but she seems to be mostly there. Nice score. Congrats!!!!!!
Absolutely! She's pretty solid all things considered :)
Cool
Thanks for watching!
Here's the weird car I once owned 67 Chevelle Super Sport real SS Car 396 two barrel single exhaust Powerglide on the column manual steering manual brakes 3o8 open rear end radio delete who ordered this car he must have been a cheap ass but it was SS pretty rare I bought it for the motor I didn't care about the rest well yeah I was California car how dumb was that I paid $300 for it at a junkyard that was a 1977 who would order a big block with a two barrel that's crazy oh yeah carpet delete rubber mat
After working a car dealership for a few years, nothing surprises me anymore on what options people order 😅 'Course you used to have a lot more leeway in the options, now they try to squeeze you into one of a couple boxes...
You're young you can easily restart I did that shit when I was young I did a lot of cars of course they weren't that ratty cuz I'm old
Sean's crazy good at finding a gem and then getting it running again! Literally anything from old muscle to a wacky chinese mini truck 😂 We're gonna have to do some more videos.
Thanks for the video the Charger looks pretty damn clean those big dents in the quarter panels can be straightened out I wouldn't replace them that's an easy fix have a great day I'll keep watching I can't build cars racing anymore but I can enjoy your channel have a great day find a good one our own Chargers were cheap yeah I'm a geezer
Appreciate the support! There's a lot of good metal left, gotta keep those old chargers rolling!
It's a FORD say's so on the back 2:22. You lucked out the Frame/Roof and one quarter panel look's good. Was an A/C car big radiator opening for 26" radiator. Emerald green with a White interior was a pretty looking car when new.
Haha, it's never a color that I'd pick new off the lot, but after seeing Sean paint the engine bay, I dig it! And I agree, great to see some good metal.
I have a nice black dash pad .(don't have any other parts)let me know if you want it.
Thanks for the heads up! Might be a ways off from that yet, but will keep it in mind :)
I'd be interested in that dash pad!
@@seanahlers2957 I'll get back to you with a price...
Sooo nice
Had been with Sean to look at a couple before. This one blew others out of the water 💯
Se han ganado un nuevo subscriptor!!! Me encanta el Charger en especial la segunda generación Es un buen proyecto que lo seguiré Saludos desde Argentina
Thanks for watching, more to come! 🏎
Is that a 440 ?
Will have to check with Sean, I know the engine it came with was locked. Came with am RT grill but it's not an RT based on the VIN.
Yes it's a 440, had a valve inside of a piston in one cylinder😅 the rest of the cylinders are so rusted solid you can't tell the difference between looking at the piston and cylinder wall.
@@EvanLudes the grills are the same
The way I’ve gone about doing these major restorations is to not look at all the work that needs to be done, just focus on a certain area of the car, say the trunk or engine bay, front chassis and finish one of those and move on to the next, hopefully this will help and good luck with your project!
Great way to look at it! Step at a time makes it less overwhelming. One thing is for sure though, even if it's not a show car, Sean will do it right!
its a real shame to see that side crunched like that and the roof dented as bad as it is considering how solid the car is still plenty there to rebuild it with most original sheet metal at least body wise
I know haha both fenders being straight would have been amazing. I'll try to get more details on the history of this one for the next video :)
I am old enough to remember when the 2nd Gen Charger first came out. The first time I ever saw one was in 1968. I was standing at a cross walk with my Schwinn Stingray when somebody pulled up to the stop sign with a brand new Dodge Charger straight off the lot. I knew right then that car would be the best looking car ever made in U.S.A history. In the late 70's and early 80"s I made three attempts to buy a 2nd Gen Charger, but they all fell through. Back then you could buy a complete running 2nd Gen Charger for less that $1000.
I think we all wish we had a time machine for those deals, heck even just to witness those rolling the streets new must have been amazing. Thanks for sharing and watching!
@@christophersanders5007 I too am old enough to remember intro ,I built model before I ever saw one!
