HK attitude and rudeness its part of the culture 😂. If they diew you, you just diew them back and throw some rude stuff back at them, and if it's funny enough some might respect you more. 😂. As far as I can remember there were very few shop keepers that allowed video recording. The HKers in general don't like it, not like mainlanders. As far as rude services from the taxi driver or bus drivers that's legendary but they will show you a different face if you're a pretty young woman. 😂. Overall HK is just over crowded and expensive. It's hard to show a soft personality if your environment is like a pressure cooker. They have a bias against mainlanders mainly because of the HKers during the Golden age. Like 70's - 90's. I remember them always making fun of the mainlanders calling them names. The current adults are the children of these golden age HKers that grew up hearing their parents insult mainlanders. Now the tables are turned and these young people are bitter. Nothing stays the same forever.
Hey how come my normal comment is banished to the hidden newest section? 😂
It's so sad in HK most people are been brainwashed. That's why most shop and restaurant always love cheating when you aren't smart enough payattendion. Hope govt should do something about those cheating shop and restaurant owners 🙏.
What is new? HK people are born with this.
@@ewnyMetroExpress no. I was not born there but I grew up there. I used to talk like that.
@@Tikiawuw you know what I actually meant "typical", like Japanese people are super polite, but not all
I'm Chinese American, I visited Washington DC, the clerks at some of the sites were very rude, the ones I experienced that were Black Americans.
That’s another topic. Next time.
Truth and I met the nicest persons in mainland China but not in HK so never ever again, China has it all. Btw Europe is another rude place overall be it the poorer countries or the rich ones.
hi i am from singapore and i am in the jewelry trade . even as the biggest gem fair is in hk , i refuse to go to hk . i just really dislike the place . mainly the people look very fierce and are quite rude . and the place is really like singapore except much more packed . i rather be in bangkok for the gem fair .
I think from a foreign perspective the "rude"ness of HKers is often a bonus to the experience, but as someone who is hypersensitive and who has grown up there their whole life I'd say that many of my earlier traumatic experiences were exactly because of these "rude", "impatient" and even "condescending" attitudes you receive from shop vendors, minibus drivers and cashiers. Just earlier today I got told off rudely by a cashier just because I made a mistake counting the cash dollars that I was supposed to pay - it was understandable cuz she was previously busy with many other stuff, but negative energy like this just seems to flow about nonstop around everyone within the city. I love HK for the many things it offered me, but this is a dark side of its people and culture that I would always gravely critique.
it pisses me off also when they say “I don’t know”! It’s like I know you lying. You just don’t want to help me.
I've visited many international cities and basically all people are good everywhere. I've been to Hong Kong and Shanghai, everyone is nice on average. Bus driver was just having a shitty day.
give you example. I had my stuff and luggage with me inside a mall plaza so I was walking around with it and walked inside a cafe. And I see employees with like a racist/dirty look, and I’m like forget It just left. 🤣🤣🤣. I mean come on, can you at least show some kindness here. I’m struggling with my luggage and you give me a dirty looks!
they mush have thought you were from the mainland!
@@paulng2094 why? I’m a Filipino American. They can’t recognize it.
I’ve been here for almost 3 months now, as a Filipino American. I love it how hong kongers act that way. It’s funny.
It’s funny rude. 🤣🤣🤣
i guarantee you will get a more friendly reception if you are white and European.
Why you you have to be white and European? I mean we all are human beings! Right.

can't agree more. they deny that they are asians. should look into a mirror.
I guess HK is exposed to the toxic western media and politics.
Not just HongKong. It’s the Cantonese speakers. They are generally more rude than those who speak mandarin.
@6:25 - or Singaporian ( simplified Chinese is an official language there) - Cantonese is a minority there though
thats y i donno why they like to visit HongKong. luckily u din get DLLM... lol!.....and everyday when i visit HongKong you can see ppl shouting on the streets DLLM and PKHKC bcos of petty stuffs
😂 yes it is part of HK people’s dna
@@Tikiawuwthey are Chinese people
If conserative will not reduce an immigration then they will not have my vote.
Yes, I find the people here in the mainland are mostly selfless. For example, a vendor will happily unpackage a half dozen umbrellas to show you what they look like open, and still not overcharge. I visit Hong Kong often and I find the people are generally closed off, similar to New York. BTW, love the text on your video. It must take a long time to do that.
I subscribe CapCut. It has auto translation from EN to Chinese
You are right about bad attitudes of hong kong people, but your good comment about mainland chinese is exaggerated.
No exaggeration.
HK people was never nice, Been there in '89 and a a few times after, never had a good experience. 😂.
Oh, yeah.. The 80's were the trudeau 21% interest rates . Guess, where were going dummy..
It’s always been like that bro; it’s a big city; it’s the same in NY. Normal
That’s why I hate going to NY.
@@Tikiawuw it’s all part of their “charm” I guess. When it comes to business meeting settings I much prefer HongKongese to Singaporeans….just of personal experience; maybe I got unlucky. Usually Hongkongers on the street level are brash but in office setting not so much
I know! But still, don’t make it obvious that you’re a bitch or asshole to an outsider because he’s not a hong konger! as a tourist. You have to be welcomed, be kind and make sure you bring them in. Not being racist/dirty looks etc.
Based on my personal experience, many people of Hong Kong are rude. I visited HK once or made stopover many times since 2000. This conclusion is confirmed every time. When China took control of HK by violating the Sino-British treaty, my position is largely influenced by the bad treatments I’d received in HK. Contrary to HK people, the Taiwanese are generally polite and nice, but they have become woke :-( Being woke is worse than being rude.
as a fellow hong konger, I feel the difference too. I didnt have internet when I first got off my flight in beijing, went to a restaurant with my dad and the staff let me use her phone and explained very patiently with translator what we were ordering. smiling and all that. very sweet. I was really surprise as prior I had only been to shanghai and people are really rude there. but in hk, even as a fellow hker asking for a little more clarity people are so short and have no time for you.
We went to few big cities in mainland and people were very very helpful and nice. That’s why we were so shot to receive bad attitude from HK’s tourist bus drivers, taxi drivers, the clerks at 7/11, the old lady at her newspaper stand at Central and store owners.
I must say, maybe its just thay china is good. In france and poland, often england especially at the immigration where people are desperate to show their power, people have often been like HKers. I didnt even think much of it tbh until i grew up n started visiting china more recently
Seems like you are hoping to find some semblance from your childhood days but HK has changed in far too many ways, even for HongKongers. BTW, the places in the videos have always been crude.
Not just HK, any cities aren't going to be changed/evolved over time.
Sad to see, HK has become very toxic, this is caused by some disgruntle individuals, definitely feel different to the 90s and 2000s.
Correction: HK has always been known for unfriendly services unless you are Caucasian or wealthy. I have been to HK many times since the early 90s.
@@se7enzee444But you don't see that happens to Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese (as long as you state that you're from Taiwan)
many Hong Kong locals are flooding into Shenzhen to have all the services because the costs are lower in Shenzhen but the services are way better as Hong Kong locals cannot tolerate the bad attitudes of local Hong Kong service workers themselves. For example, the Hong Kong waitresses in average restaurants are very impatient and super rude to anyone but white people from West Europe and North America. Yes, they judge white people by their countries of origin as well. Very snobbish, lol.
@@gtlover2011 Actually there were youtube videos capturing Taiwanese tourists exchanged angry verbal outbursts with Hong Kong shop staffs in the busy streets with the Taiwanese couples yelling angrily "黑店!”, “報警!“ and stuffs like that and the Hong Kong staffs told them "Go back to Taiwan! Hong Kong doesn't welcome Taiwanese" and stuffs like that, you can search that video.

ain’t that a well know fact about hongkies.
True. I grew up there and didn’t know it was the problem
one trip there and everyone would know it. just walk around the hotel one round and you would heard them swearing “diu” at least 10 times and the famous slamming of your plates and bowls when serving you. Because you grow up there , to you us a norm but to us is considered rude.
@@___Danny___ yes I know. People who live there don’t know it is the problem and when they go to trip in other Asia countries except for Japan, they think they are better than the locals. It becomes a cycle to reinforce their rudeness.

TRUE
No.
@Tikiawuw I know this may escape you and it's understandable... but Canadian fuel prices are taxed at around 60-70% (before carbon tax). Dont take my word for it - statistics and quarterly reports are logged, both from the companies and the government. Carbon tax removal WOULD lower its prices, but more so, governmental false increase regulations other than carbon tax would as well. Want a concrete example? Early 2020 during lockdowns, Irving oil still made millions in profits at the pump while none drove, and gas was at 80ish cents at the pump, during that quarter. Look deeper, look more, and look more thoroughly before giving opinions on this country. (It varies in other countries) You're welcome.
Yeah but most people don’t know how finance or economics work.. 😅.
Pierre for PM
its because the oil sands were mostly closed
Wow, trying to leave comment, having a hard time......
First of all the carbon tax adds 17 cents per liter of gasoline and if the carbon tax goes up as the Liberals want it to that number will be 65 cents per liter. Also if it's the war, how come the cost of gas in the US is half the cost of Canada. Don't know what NEWS you are watching but the message you are getting is not correct.
It went over $2 per litre over night in Vancouver on the day of Russia attack. "Crude oil prices rise above $100 per barrel after Russia’s further invasion into Ukraine" eig.gov. OPEC+ decreased oil production in Nov 22 to keep price up. I do not agree with carbon tax also but geopolitic does play a major role in the oil price not just carbon tax.
@@Tikiawuw We have no control over global events, we do, however, have control over what we do to ourselves and of all you mentioned only the carbon tax is within our control. According to the governments own numbers the carbon tax will take an annual 25 billion bite out of our economy by 2030.
you are???? what are you talking about???
Vote Liberal!
And participate in the continued destruction of Canada. If you don't believe Canadians, ask the rest of the world! We receive nothing but criticism for our incompetent government and have become an international laughing stock. The only ones who can't see this are the few remaining Liberal loyalists. Thank goodness the Conservative movement is unstoppable.
Are you dumb or?
Why would anyone vote Liberal at this point? Who could possibly benefit except the politicians?
Yet when you worked for Harper for ten years you accomplished none of things you complain about. Liar
Wake up, call your boss trudeau and tell him you're not dumb. When you cut the carbon tax, gas and diesel go down in price. Do not be dumb and believe the war is causing this. Food is up due to fuel costs.. It's not a hard thing to understand. Spending money like a drunken sailor makes the cost of living go up..
Really? He's saying cutting the carbon tax will reduce the cost of gas and diesel.
That tax has been added to the cost of fuel, so eliminating it should reduce the cost.

You are right in that older people will remember seeing this before.... And yes I have seen these exact economic conditions before after Pierre Trudeau. Inflation rates that are sky high (and yes inflation currently is but how they now calculate inflation is very deceiving). It took more than 20 years and 2 Prime Ministers (Mulroney and Chretien) to fix what Trudeau Sr did. There were still some minor issues under Harper, but he spent a lot of time creating stability in the economy. Trudeau Jr has out done what daddy did by far! By far the worst PM in Canadian history. It will take decades to fix what he has done. I know so many people now leaving Canada as there is little hope here for the future. I like Pierre Poilievre a lot. I voted for him, but I have little doubt that the current situation will not be fixed by him or anyone for the next 10-30 years at least. We will be lucky to avoid a depression.
I honestly think the only hope we have is the Axing of the Carbon Tax, and hopefully Trump and Pierre can make trade agreements that benefit Canada (highly unlikely), and im a young Canadian. Im 24, and i have a Tattoo of a Maple Leaf with "True North Strong and Free" i love Canada, but if this continues i can no longer live here, and will need to look into leaving Canada.
Victoria Peak is one of the must-go places when in HK. I'd recommend taking the bus up to the Peak at around 4pm instead of the Tram because the bus ride is an adventure! Hang around at the Peak and watch the sunset. Then the Tram down.
