Those old photographs are incredible. What a total badass your dad was. I would do a front disk conversion. 2f and 4 speed. No modifications all bolts up. Just need a 3fe swap on one of mine. If you ever need pig parts I have a ton. But looks like you already have a parts rig.
Hey, question, where can I find the Drip Rail clamps that you have on your rig? I need a 2 sets of those.
Hey, quewtion, where can I find the Drip Rail clamps that you have on your rig? I need a 2 sets of those.
Great video! I appreciate the honest evaluation of your driving. Do I spy a white FJ60 in the background at minute 20 of the video?
Good eye! There may be some upgrades in the FJ55's future!
What a cool trip! Loved it. I'm sure glad you had another vehicle for recovery help!
It was a ton of fun!
What a day! Excellent teamwork and great editing. Fun to have been a part of the adventure and fun to watch the video. What comes around goes around. I am sure there will be more opportunities for Sammy to out-do the BIG OL' 80. Looking forward to more!
Absolutely!!!
I've been to Peekaboo with a guide service and it's definitely busy, even in the winter. I'm ready to drive the Cruiser in myself!
I'm glad you went too. Thanks for sharing the view.
Thanks for always inspiring me to head for the hills!
Really gorgeous landscapes! I agree with you, that last campsite was spectacular!
Man, that is some really pretty country! I bet that ambulance turns a few heads on those backroads!
I may have been asked if I was the Ghost Busters at the waterfall campsite.
😂😂😂
Awesome video and adventure with the Ambulance! I'd love to see the interior setup of your friends 80!
I'll have to poke a camera in there next time we get together!
I really appreciate you bringing us along. It's really cool being able to come along on your adventures with you!
You should bring good binoculars to check stuff at a distance
You're right! I should. The problem with that is that I'd never get home cause I'd keep going to look at the next interesting thing in the distance! 😝
Keep your dang dog out of the local water supply! What's wrong with you?
🤣
Love the Videos!
Thanks for checking them out!
Beautiful country 💘
It really is!
Now I know why the water tasted like 🐕
🤣
Such a cool trip! I wish I was with you guys! Thank you for documenting it all! The Land Cruiser looks AWESOME!
Does it still have the vase for flowers in the front, that your mom loved?
When I read this it suddenly struck a memory. Sadly that vase isn't there. I might have to dig around and see if it's deep in the glovebox or something.
He never got struck is true. I have the photo of your mom and dad at grams with the brown Land Cruiser. I also have the exact picture only with me. One of my favorites. Most of my adventures were in the brown one . Then, we had our truck and went on adventures with the blue and white one. Great times! I have hours of photos with your dad. He was a great teacher! Love all the photos.
It was so much fun to see all the photos and I'd love to see yours someday too! He was indeed a great teacher.
Its either Manzanita, Scrub Oak or Chapparel. They all smell fantastic
Chapparel
Looks amazing! Utah I'm guessing.
There's spots like this all over Utah and Arizona. I love it!

Where?
Beautiful Point Sublime
I worked at Jacob Lake in high school & college and Point Sublime is the best view on the North Rim hands down. Thanks for the great video and bringing back memories for me!
Could that white layer be ancient volcanic ash?
Interesting. Thanks!
Just subscribed, can't wait for those videos you previewed! 😃👍🏻
What a cool spot, the dog was in splash pool heaven! 😂
Oh she was LOVING it!
@@bossdadadventureguide4277 absolutely, haha!
This is my favorite video you’ve done so far. I was amazed to hear the brief version of your FJ55 when I met you the 1st time. Loved hearing the whole story, & I know your dad is so proud of the way you honor his legacy!
Cool video, having a FJ55 is quite something, having a FJ55 with them memories is something else. :-) your Dad sounds like the real deal.
Brakes? FJ60 front disks?
He was the real deal for sure! I've had a couple mention of the FJ60 conversion. I've got all the parts to do it! Maybe I just need to dive in!
@@bossdadadventureguide4277 I mean, its your rig, you do what you do, but I'd not go nuts. FJ60 Axles would in keeping, keep her moving! (and stopping)
No drone zone?! Pshhh. A balloon with a camera attached would be that loophole lol!!!
Gotta love loopholes!
Love this thing! I’ve got an 87’ fj60. In regards to brakes, you should get on IH8MUD and look at the conversions. There’s a lot of guys doing FJ60 front disc brake swaps for the FJ55 but use the Toyota T100 calipers and a 96 4Runner or 80series brake booster and master cylinder. Definitely a solid upgrade for your rig.
Oh, disc brakes would be lovely!
@@bossdadadventureguide4277 definitely feels night and day! Personally would be an amazing upgrade, that and a power steering setup from an FJ60 2F and mount an FJ60 or 80series power steering box.
I think the only thing that is missing with the fj55 is the outfit. It definitely needs some bell bottoms, belt buckle, button up shirt and a brimmed hat. Maybe that will increase the HP?? 😜. In all seriousness, I've heard this story before and I fully expect to hear it a few more times. Bummed I never got to meet Mr. T. Alderman. It is an honor for me to have had the opportunity to participate in a trip so special. Not to mention being rescued by you and the fj55. The legacy continues!!
Cheers to many more special trips to come!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Such an honor to his memory.
very pretty, i used to RockHound superior az all the time and go to the Apache tear caves
It is an amazing area. Thanks for watching!
No music
This is really special. Thank you for sharing all of this!
Hollow
Wow awesome
The red is iron residue. Iron particles would dissolve into sandstone and recrystalise in small pockets. As layers separate by erosion the iron is revealed.😊
Thanks for sharing the info! And thanks for watching!

The 1.6 8v, 1.6 16v, and 1.3 8v are all non interference engines. Idk who told you they were but they lied to you. If it has a timing *belt* its non interference. Timing chain engines are a different story. And the torque spec on the crank pulley (harmonic balancer) is 94 lb.ft. no more no less. And btw these engine time on #4 spark plug at TDC (top dead center) not on #1 like most every other engine. #4 on these Suzuki and tracker engines. Crank mark at 12, cam mark at 12, #4 TDC compression stroke, rotor pointing at #4 wire and youre good. But be careful. You can time these 180 out with the #4 being at TDC at the exhaust stroke fixing to take in intake. Pull your valve cover and watch your intake valve close. Once it closes stick a screwdriver in cylinder #4 and once the screwdriver reaches its peak of lift on the piston and just before it starts to go back down. Thats compression stroke #4. I know i went into detail. Better know too much than not enough. Im very familiar with these engines. They are awesome and simple. Unlike 4.6 and 5.4's im used to as well😂 congrats on the sammy. I love mine
love it, I miss Terry, beautiful way to celebrate his life.
Thanks bud!
This is my dream trip! I worked at Jacob Lake when I was in high school and college, and the North Rim is my absolute favorite place to explore. I better get my 80 series road worthy so I can take a North Rim trip!
For sure you need to!
top trrip,
Thanks for checking it out!
Glad to see that boss dad won't be gone for good and I can't wait to see how the jeepin went!
