That’s exactly what I have been thinking about from the start. Why don’t they fix it before it’s sent out unfortunately this is an attitude from commencal that I don’t like. For example, there are updates to screws that quickly break in the actual bike and bikes before. You only realise this when you contact the service and then surprisingly they say “ yes we know that problem and have developed a new screw for this. You can buy it in our shop” … wtf And that’s just one example of many. In general, they are very sparing with information.
@@tayfunatwork they did send the washer kit at no cost however I feel like the best way to do business is to he more offense than defense. If you’re aware of an issue as a company just be more proactive and shoot an email out at least letting customers or potential customers know that you’re aware and are fixing the issue or have an easy fix available.
love it Kelly
@@benjaminpellegrino4241 Thanks Ben 🙏🏻🤙
Did you find any limitations? My main concern is with two points: - I typically like to have my bindings pretty tight, and I’ve heard you have to ride these looser - The stiffness. While I’m not a park rider, I’d say I’m pretty all-mountain freestyle, where I like to rip butters on groomers, play around on side hits, and pop spins off of everything. I’ve always rode either Burton Mission or a Ride C6. I’ve never rode a stiffer binding and Nidecker ranks these an 8/10, so I’m a little worried that won’t translate well to my riding style. Reasons I want them are: - I ride with 90% skiers (which sucks, I know. My friends suck lol) - I’m on the east coast and my local hill is tiny, so stepping in equates to a few extra runs at the end of the day Think it’s worth it?
@@j.p.6228 I’ve noticed I do have to run these a bit looser but it doesn’t feel like they are loose. Kind of a weird sensation and hard to explain but it really does feel locked in. As far as stiffness, I would say these feel a bit less stiff than 8/10. They feel a bit softer than my Union Atlas bindings. While the step in is convenient I feel they can be a bit awkward when trying to get out of them. After riding these more after this review, I’m not fully converted to these yet and I still prefer my Union Atlas bindings. Two main things I’ve noticed long term is they can be awkward getting out of and they are a bit heavy. I’m trying to get a pair of the new carbon version to test and see if they are better. They are supposed to be about a pound lighter per binding.
@@havenoutdoors584awesome thanks for the response man! I’ve heard the carbons are lighter for sure, but notably stiffer
Holyyyy that camber!
Hi Does it creak?
It was creaking super bad until I put in the washer kit provided by Commencal.
was looking at the Tempo to replace my Meta TR V4 did not know about the cable routing. Might be a deterant for me.
I think the pros of this bike outweigh the cable routing but I’m still not happy about it. Hahah.😂
@@havenoutdoors584 I said might I still love my other 2 Commencals I will probably get this.
Amazing! What bike do you ride??
@@Kanyeisthe_goat in this clip I’m on the Ari Superior Peak. Been riding a Commencal TEMPO and Commencal Meta V5. Will be riding an Ibis Ripmo V3 soon 🤘🤘 Thanks for watching!

What is the weight of your TEMPO? And if you would have to choose only one bike between TEMPO and META V5, which one would you pick?
@@Conch-u2m I haven’t weighed the TEMPO. My guess is it’s right at about 30 lbs. Stock it was just at about 32 lbs. my V5 off memory is about 4 lbs heavier. If you’re doing mostly green, blues and easier more flowy black trails the TEMPO is the bike for sure! So much more fun! When it gets rowdy the V5 is best for sure. For me and for most of the trails I ride in Utah I would say the TEMPO is the bike I would ride more often. Hope that helps.
Bro 😍😍
I'll stick with my Devinci Troy with an overbuilt aluminum frame, no skimping on components (such as the chain) and External cable routing.
@@51249ca ya, the internal headset cable Routing is killing me.
You got creakins pivots. I got creaking frame, no fix for that. ua-cam.com/video/KSsmsPrWmsU/v-deo.html
I'm thinking about buying bike but what is that rattle noise on the whole climb? i have the trek rail with bosch motor and that rattles horrible on descents thia ia why i want to sell the bike. does the motor ep801 rattle much?
The GoPro amplifies the noise for sure. However there is a slight rattle that seems to come from the motor. There is also a noise when the motor engages and disengages when you start and stop pedaling. I haven’t ridden a completely silent Ebike yet. This one was on par with my turbo levo motor as far as noise.
I got a Timp Peak 3 weeks ago. It is totally silent on climbs other than the whir of the motor.
@@hobblyjigthat’s good to hear.
how is it on descends ? my bosch rattles bad when not pedaling
@@herse83 there was a bit of rattling but not so much that I noticed it while riding.
Mine creaked like crazy and it was the low pivot bearings that were siezed. Commencal paid to replace them and also sent the washers now it's silent except for the sound of my fat ass puffing
Nice! Ya I’m huffing and puffing pretty aggressively for sure. 😂
Is your v5 still completely creak free? Been reading lots of stories of people adding the washers and greasing and it still creaking. Considering getting the frame but the creaking is worrisome
Ya, mine is still silent.
On your video the motor appears to wistle while climbing. Is that audible to you or just an artifact of the mic on the camera. Also, when descending the bike sounded really creaky. That's pretty disappointing.
You definitely hear a little whine from the motor. But this motor is one of the more quiet ones I have ridden out of Shimano and specialized. I have not ridden a Bosch motor. The bike didn’t have any creaks however each Ebike I have ridden recently has a small “loose part” sound coming from the motor area that I’ve noticed but only notice it watching the video. The GoPro mic seems to amplify that sound quite a bit. The Ari Timp Peak has the same thing if you watch that video, However I did have a creak in the headset area on top of the motor sound if you watch that one.
it's clear silver or pure white colour ??
Clear Silver
This bike is on my shortlist. I care LESS about how a bike looks than I do about how functional and serviceable it is (assuming all the ride qualities and specs are equal). If I DO go with a TEMPO, the first time I have to fight with the headset cable routing I’m just going to pull the cables and route everything externally. That black sparkle frame is sick and you’ll never see the black cable ties on it. The only reason there’s even a shortlist for my next bike is because of that headset routing. If someone comes out with a competitively priced/spec’d bike that also performs this well but doesn’t have the cable routing I’ll get that bike instead. I BY FAR prefer the TEMPO to every bike I’ve seen out there but I’m willing to go with a second choice if anyone can provide one. Commencal is just lucky the Raaw Jibb is so much more expensive or it would be my 1st choice. Realistically, whoever between Rocky Mountain, Raaw, Yeti, Transition, and Kona can give me a decently spec’d shorter travel trail bike at a reasonable cost before Commencal switches away from headset routing on the TEMPO will get my money. …and I’m definitely not the only person saying that. Now, brands just have to step up and give customers what they actually want!
This T.E.M.P.O. is definitely one of the funnest and best climbing trail bikes I’ve ever ridden. The headset cable routing is literally its only downfall.
Is something creaking or rattling? Or is that just your camera mount making noise?
I think it must have been something in my camera set up. Bike was really quiet.
That is a great deal for the bike. I just bought a Rocky Mountain C30 with a full Deore group set for $2800. The carbon frame is ready for some upgrades, but the stock stuff is working great. The upgrades will be more of a weight saving than performance improvement. The bike is at 33 lbs. and i want to get it down to about 30. What is your bike cost w upgrades? Try taking a fine grit sandpaper and lightly scuff your rotors to get more grip when you sand the pads... and always run metallic pads vs. organics or resins.
Wheels $1200, pads, $60, GX drivetrain $400ish. Bike at current price plus upgrades would be around $3900.
Another quick question - have you found you have rubbed your calves/legs as you peddle, on the super wide back end?
I haven’t bumped them on this bike. I had an older TR and rose an older V3 Meta that my calves rubbed on once in a while.
Rad Video! The Tempo looks sick!
@@cortscooldominos6331 it’s such a fun bike! Honestly the headset cable routing is the only thing I don’t like. Funnest trail bike I’ve been on. I just sold my Meta V5 so I’ll be riding this til January when my next bike arrives.
Sounds like it could be a sweetspot for me as i don't have a lot of altitude on my home trails, i need to just pedal pretty flat trails to ride a few fun short downhill spots. Then sometimes i go to bikeparks and ride the more natural enduro type tracks. I have an old v4 27.5 now and i feel like most new endurobikes would be overkill for the most part.
Ya, I think it would work super well for you. It’s a lot more playful and pedals so much better than the V4, but I feel like it still soaks up big hits better than the V4. Great trail bike that can still do laps at the bike park and be totally comfortable on bigger steeper terrain.
Bonjour comment le compares tu Au Tempo, montée, descente, fun... Merci
Ya, mine is perfect now! ❤❤

I’ll read your article later as I’m very interested in this bike. How many miles and how much vert did you cover out there in EaMo? And then how much battery was used? I’m your same size battery life is my biggest question. What was the clicking, plasticy sound in your video, especially when going downhill? Was it part of your GoPro setup? Thanks man
Good questions! I didn’t have the bike for long and only had a short window to get out and ride it. I got in an 8 mile ride and about ft of vert and I had used 2 bars of battery. Not sure exactly what the clicking was because I didn’t hear it coming from the bike while riding. I’m guessing go pro set up?
Great video!! I’m 6’1”,, right on the line between large and Xtra large. After riding the XL frame at 6’3”, would you recommend XL for a 6’1” rider??? Thank you
Hey thanks! Honestly you could ride either size. Depends on how you ride and how you want the bike to feel. If you’re wanting more stability at speed and through rough terrain go with the XL. If you’re wanting the bike to be more manageable with a more BMX feel and want it to be more playful and get through tight corners and stuff better go with the Large. Hope that helps.
@@havenoutdoors584 thank you for replying!! I going for the Xl!!
@@michaelcrouch8368Nice! You’ll love it!
Bummer dude on the camera being off. I feel you. This past weekend I had my best lap on a new trail and my battery died unexpectedly. Seems like a legit SL e-bike though. Will need to check out the written review
Ah man! The worst! You got me wanting that Ibis HD6 now! Haha.
Wore my Haven shirt out in Hawaii today!
Aloha Ben!!!
Hello sir. How are you’How much does it cost?
The top build is $5900 at Commencal USA now. This build was all custom and I’m guessing it would cost around 7k if you were to buy each part individually?
Anything on the frame flex? In Pinkbike review of the SX they mentioned it. Some liked it and some thought little too much flex. Did you feel anything unusual in flex from other bikes ridden in the past? You’re a big guy, if you say the bike climbs well I believe you. Nice work on the Analog 💪
I haven’t noticed a lot of flexing in the frame actually. It does have somewhat of a softer feel to it though of that makes sense. So maybe it is flexing a bit but not where I can actually feel movement. I’ve ridden other bikes that flex and you can noticeably feel the frame move. I guess I would say the amount of flex this has just makes the bike comfortable to me. I feels like it’s got a. It more flex than my Ripmo AF but compared to a V1 Revel Ranger it’s super stiff. The rear end of my Ranger was like a noodle.
@@havenoutdoors584 thanks for the reply
No worries 🤙
You definitely feel the flex, it makes the riding feel softer and I don’t necessarily see it a negative thing. Depends on rider I guess. However, the issue I am having is how noisy it is. I went as far as upgrading to ceramic bearings to avoid the creaks but I still hear creaking. It’s a fairly new new and I really take care of my bikes and this bike sounds like it’s been abused lol. Not sure what happened with the QC of commencal but they really need to figure something out on the creaks . Overall, bike feels great on climbs and descents but that creaking is honestly getting exhausting and this may be my last bike from Commencal. Hope this helps anyone that’s interested in the bike!
@@JeepinIvan_MTB FYI, I had horrible creaking as well. You need to contact Commencal and ask them to send you a washer kit. There were tolerance issues on this and the SX frames. Not sure why Commencal isn’t being proactive and reaching out to all who purchased these bikes? Once the washer kit is installed the bike is dead quiet! I had meant to add this to my review but didn’t end up going back and putting it in.
hey man sick video and bike , i heard you say you had a tempo ,could you do a video on that bike too
Hey thanks! And Ya, for sure. Going to be doing a TEMPO video soon-ish. 😁
Considering what it was you said you were looking for in a mountain bike, it seems like the Meta TR would have been better choice than the V5 since the V5 is designed for their World Enduro Championship team, those wheels look dope AF though👍🏽
The Forge and Bond Wheels are amazing! I had a meta-TR before and that bike actually rides more like an Enduro bike. It’s more of a smash through everything bike even though it has less travel it feels a lot different. The Meta V5 is more efficient and more playful than the TR but does have a more of a bottomless feel when things do get rowdy. I think the V5 is a faster bike than the TR though. And in an Enduro race I’d pick the V5 over the TR for sure. I haven’t ridden the SX yet but it seems like the more Plow through stuff and more of a planted bike than the V5 from what I have heard.
@@havenoutdoors584great input! Been looking the TR and the V5 as my next bike. I am a beginner and I want a playful bike to learn. The idea is a One Bike set up.
@@martinlegui1000 the V5 is more playful than the TR, but it can also handle bigger hits.
@@havenoutdoors584great reply! Thanks. And now can you compare the V5 with the TEMPO?
@@martinlegui1000 V5 is more of an all mountain bike than the Tempo. Tempo is more trail bike. Tempo is more playful than the V5 and is quicker on the uphill and on more fun on flowy and flatter terrain. The Tempo is super easy to pump and gain speed. If you’re not riding any steep, gnarly trails with bigger drops then the Tempo is the bike for you.
what size frame? how u liking the 150 mm travel? is it enough?
I’m on the XL frame. I’m just under 6’4”. The 150mm rear travel on this bike feels deeper than my Ripmo AF which had about the same travel at 147mm. On big hits and drops my Ripmo AF felt like it would get a bit hung up and run out of travel, but on this bike it never seems to feel that way. I’m about halfway done with a review video I’ll be putting out in the next couple of weeks to get my full thoughts on it though.
thats nice to hear, i am also 6,35 with a canyon spectral, i recently overstroked it to 162mm rear travel and it feels great, i just wanna pull the trigger on v5 but scared 150mm might not be enough i am in greece and its got gnarly rocky trails @@havenoutdoors584
For disclosure I've been riding since 91 and been 95% on step-ins since 97. Currently on my first season on Supermatic and absolutely love them. Sure they are not as "pure step/click-in" as say the Switch system was back in the day but the key for Supermatic is I can pick any boot I want. And I 100% disagree with the notion that step-ins are somehow for old men. Nope. As I said, been riding them for more than 25 years and even in my 50s I keep myself in shape.
Nice. Ya, I’ve been loving mine this season.
Watching this for the third time and I’ll likely watch it a few more lol Great job on the video man. Love the bike
Thanks a lot man! Much appreciated! Waiting for my wrist to heal so I can go ride the thing! I wrecked riding E-bike at the end of December and banged up my wrist pretty bad.
How did you get the Chalk Colored frame? thought they are only selling that color as a complete bike
It does look like a bit like the chalk color on video. It’s actually the clear silver color. It’s a high gloss with a bit of a champagne color to it. It’s beautiful in person! ❤️❤️
hi do you like it ? climb well ? can u give the weight please ..
Hey Mike. I love it! It climbs really well. I would say it climbs just as good as my Ripmo AF that I used to have. This bike feels a good bit lighter than my Ripmo AF for sure. I still need to weigh it. My guess is 33-34 lbs as it sits now? Climbing is very efficient. Seated climbing is super comfortable and out of the saddle sprints are great. I feel like most of my energy is going right into the pedals and not getting soaked up by the suspension. I think my Ripmo AF may have had a bit more traction climbing technical stuff, i.e. rocks, roots, ledges, but I did have a coil on the Ripmo which helped. I'd say when the Ripmo had an air shock it climbed up technical stuff about the same. I will be doing a review video as the trails dry up a bit or get down to southern Utah. Also, I buggered up my wrist pretty good and haven't been able to ride for about a month. Almost healed up though!
@@havenoutdoors584 thanks for ur answer mate
Just weighed it today at 33.6 lbs.
00:46 If you're talking about the K2 Clickers as the joke step-on bindings of the 90's, they are still in production, and have a fairly large following. For the most part, they are the same binding all these years.
I sure hated them as an instructor at Snowbird back in the 90’s. Seemed like they were always getting clogged up with snow and ice. There were a couple guys that worked with me that rode them and said they were great but I wasn’t so sure. 😁
There were several systems from different brands, K2 Clicker, Burton, Switch, Rossignol and a few others
Nice build! What is the weight of the finished bike?

Nice! What bike are you thinking of building up?
@@havenoutdoors584v10 still waiting for the frame
Did you order the built bike option or is fited headset standard when ordering the frame?
I order it as frame only and not the build option. I also put my own headset on this bike. The one Commencal sends with the frame is the internal routed headset. I honestly hate that thing. It’s on my T.E.M.P.O and it’s a pain. At least with the V5 you have the option of running cables through the ports on the side of the frame. The reason you see the headset, shock and bottom bracket on the bike when I start filming the build is I didn’t have a press, so I had a friend at my local bike shop put the headset, bottom bracket and shock on while he had it.
how did they fit? especially compared to other k2 boots if you have prior experience.
I feel like they are pretty close to other K2 boots. Maybe a tiny bit smaller? I know evo has them in stock in a few sizes at least too. If you're interested I have the link in the description to get them at evo.com.
Cuanto vale una sicla así en precio colombiano?

Thanks 🙏🏻
Nice bike, but the tire combo definitelly decrease the ability... That Schwalbe's HD + NN are so average...
Ya, totally agree. This tore combo doesn’t match the bike’s ability. I’ll be swapping these out for sure when summer comes. When I built this all of the trails I usually ride were buried in snow and these tires are good for the ones that stay rideable during the winter here where I live. Also, I picked them up for super cheap. 😉
