I adopted a 10 month Plott Hound & had no idea what they were about. They called it a brindle, but I used google lens to find out what he was. He had a limp & I got worried about the hunting aspect of the breed. I’m just not sure he’d be happy as a family pet. He was super lovable & now I miss him!

I'm new to the sport. How do u keep the dog by your truck instead of sprinting into the woods?

My wife and I, unknowingly rescued a female Plott Hound pup a couple of years ago. Squid is a great dog, before we were able to determine her breed it was abundantly evident that she is a working breed. She is a great watch dog that exhibits absolute allegiance to our family. Most of her brothers and sisters were eaten. Chinese in our area unfortunately raise meat dogs, our pup came from one of these places after it was raided!

See your Plotts actually look like hounds! I'm seeing so many "Plott hounds" that don't look hound at all, they have Plott colors but they are built more like curs, have lab ears and boxy snouts. Have you seen this on UA-cam and the Internet? Some of these look more like bird dogs and retrievers than a hound . I love your dogs

I have a plot hound bear dog in training now . Have a walker hound now he is a well known dog in tn . But i got him done trained .. now i am getting this plot going got some sent today to drag and see how that goes

Great dogs, is it productive to hunt bobcat with only one hound? I was just curious if you need several dogs to catch up to a cat. I’m in Michigan.

Your dog box reminds me of a long time ago when factory aluminum dog boxes came out.My hunting partner got one and l still had an old wooden one with leather hinges. We were hunting quail and my dogs were a lot better than his. At the end of season he said you need a 500 dollar dog and a 50 dollar dog box instead a 50 dollar dog and a 500 dollar dog box. I suspect that's your case. Enjoyed watching

The sad thing about these videos is that most of the young people today are walking into poles looking at their phones. I fed my family with a 22 during ww2 and every young person i knew had a 22. We took our rifles to school(rifle club) . There is nothing like the outdoors. GRIZ.

Good stuff Sam.. I miss those days we used to run lots of cats here in Western mass, bobcat population here has exploded. They are everywhere. watched one get one of my chickens the other day. Everybody has them on their game cameras lots of rabbits also now , jazz is the perfect hound for cats and coons . Be well , go get the kitty
