i suggest only to use the MB for the FAN , in the past i had the morpheus cooler for my Vega64 and the adapter for the PWM with the GPU connection but after some months of usage with Some Eloop noiseblocker FAN the PWM controller basically caught on fire but fortunally the Vega is still alive lol
Would this work on a msi suprim 3080 too?
This is a really smart and simple mod! Would be great to see a noise comparison before and after...
The beat is nice!
I'm building one for my Colorful iGame RTX 3080 Ti Advanced. I hope they're better.
Need this for my 3080 TI zotac. 😢
Does this work for a 3080 TI zotac.
This is on 5g? Wow.
When your fans cost more than the PC case. 😬
Very brown
Wouldn’t undervolting give you 99% of the benefit???
Please give me a link to order something like in the clip.
Did you used a usb c charger to power it on with the cable it came with ? (or is it even possible?)
Why not 3 x 92mm ? The big advantage of case fans instead of stock is thickness 25mm vs 10mm. How long was the Furmark test, version and settings pls.
I think 3xTL-B9 would perform better than these 140mm fans
@@ΔαυίδΠριδεαυξ In my test a B9 beats a A12 as backplate fan. ua-cam.com/video/MfaVVInZt5A/v-deo.html
@@ΔαυίδΠριδεαυξ for the cost of 3 of those I'd rather buy 3 NF-A9
This is INSANE. I wish i could 3d print parts to do this with my MSI 3090 Ventus 3X
Don't need print, just use zip ties
Just because you don't have 3d printing doesn't mean you can't, there's plenty of materials that are easy to cut to make fan bracket, like pvc for example
2:26 frame mounts are bending, better to cut the screws to like 8 mm so you can mount them with just the bottom mounting holes.
Can use m3 countersunk head washer to increase height
Can't wait to try this out on my 3080 Ti !
Nice, was waiting for this one. Is there a good performance difference with these?
Hi, Yes, they has a higher Airflow and Static Pressure.
I was surprised to find that the NF-A14x25 r G2 PWM has better cooling performance than the NF-A12x25 PWM! I thought there would be airflow losses due to the mismatch in size between the fan and the heatsink, making the fan a bottleneck and ineffective. However, this turned out not to be the case. This video is very informative! The results are quite intriguing! Please also make a comparison video between the round-shaped NF-A14x25 r G2 PWM and the square-shaped NF-A14x25 G2 PWM. Additionally, which fan was quieter in the noise comparison between the NF-A12x25 PWM and the NF-A14x25 r G2 PWM? Please post this video not only on UA-cam but also on Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). I believe it will generate a lot of interest! Best regards,
Thank you for your comment. The noise comparison between NF-A12x25 and NF-A14x25r G2 is really similar, but the "NF-A14x25r G2" has a higher Static Pressure and Airflow than the "NF-A12x25" Personally I prefer the NF-A14x25r G2 for performance at the moment.
@@Unc0mpress3D Thank you for your response. In the video where you installed the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM and the one where you installed the NF-A14 PWM (Part 2), it seemed that the GPU temperatures were lower with the NF-A14 PWM. Which one was more effective for cooling? According to Noctua, using radiator screws without the load-relief anti-vibration pads with the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM (and NF-A14x25 G2 PWM) can cause deformation (frame twisting) over time. The NF-A14x25 G2 PWM will be globally available in September 2024, so it seems necessary to use a 140mm fan adapter once it’s available. The square shape of the NF-A14x25 G2 PWM might result in less pressure leakage compared to the round shape of the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM, thus providing better cooling performance. I also purchased the GPU deshroud mod kit from Etsy after watching your video and installed the NF-A12x25 PWM. Yesterday, I ordered the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM, and once it arrives, I will replace the NF-A12x25 PWM with the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM to compare GPU temperatures and noise levels. Thank you for your insights. Best regards,
@@hq5035 Exactly, It's probably the room temperature is higher than in the other 2 videos And the noise comparison with "NF-A14" the NF-A14x25r G2 is clearly less noisy. Nice, can you share here in the comments your opinion on the NF-A14x25r G2 with your GPU when you receive it?
@@Unc0mpress3D Apologies for the possible bother, but on your atomos ninja unboxing, did you used a usb c charger to power it on with the cable it came with ? (or is it even possible?) (without using a battery)
@@Unc0mpress3D Apologies for the Delayed Reply I recently used a Deshroud MOD purchased from Etsy on my ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Phantom Gaming 24GB OC, installing two Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans. Compared to the two NF-A12x25 PWM fans, the GPU and VRAM temperatures have significantly decreased with the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans. However, the noise levels have unfortunately increased. Since the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM has a maximum RPM of 1500, compared to the NF-A12x25 PWM's 2000 RPM, the GPU's automatic fan speed control causes the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans to run at their maximum speed of 1500 RPM almost constantly, even under a light load. This makes the NF-A12x25 PWM better for noise, but the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM superior in cooling performance. May I ask what RPM your NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans are running at with your GPU MOD? Are you using the GPU’s automatic fan control? I would appreciate any insights you could share. Best Regards,
Nice... Can't wait for the square version

too bad matching 3d printed and noctua plastic didnt go as well. but close enough
would this be able to mount to your de shroud kit for 120mm or is there an adapter for it
Hi, Yes, the next video with GPU is coming soon. ;) No need an adapter for that.
@@Unc0mpress3D @PatrickLima69 Hello, Due to their design, axial fans deliver the most airflow at the tips of their blades, so it is essential that this airflow reaches the heatsink for effective cooling. This applies not only to the NF-A14x25 r G2 PWM and NF-A12x25 PWM but to any fan. It is crucial to use a fan size that matches the GPU heatsink to avoid airflow loss. It is likely that the GPU heatsink is too small, causing airflow loss, and resulting in temperatures similar to those with the NF-A12x25 PWM installed. The difference might only be in appearance and noise level. However, this is just a prediction, and the actual outcome can only be determined by trying it out. I look forward to your review video. Best regards.
@@hq5035 I purchased them to try and you’re 100% correct. I think it would be possible to make something to focus airflow depending on the design of the card and where it exhausts
@@PatrickLima69 If there are ducts or louvers, it is possible to direct airflow to the heatsink without loss, even if the fan and heatsink sizes differ. However, this increases the thickness of the fan assembly, which may lead to issues with fitting the fan.
There is a much simpler solution that doesn't require the 120 to 140mm fan adapter. Noctua sells round frame 140 mm fans like the ones they put on their NH D15 and NH U14S. These fans have a 120mm fan hole pattern which is exactly what the etsy deshroud kit has. I did this with my 3090 FTW3 and it works awesome.
Hey. Can you please give more detail about this round frame? Can't find it
@chrissoucy1997
What are you doing with the clips at 0:44? Do they just kind of need some shaking to pull off or are they actually breaking?
How to connect noctuas fans to gpu do I need special adapter ? I’m thinking to do 2 140 mm noctua to my rtx 3060ti. Stock fans are too loud 😢
I'm running 2x120 Arctic P12's on my deshrouded 2080ti with the fans running off my mb chassis fan header and controlled with Fan Control software with a curve based on gpu temps. Works great.
Which one is better fan configuration? Pushing air to the heatsink or pulling it away from the heatsink? Great video by the way!!
Awesome soundtrack, quick question; I have the EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 (ULTRA) version, do you think this mod/kit only works on non-ultra versions?
wow this is so clean 😮
would it work with 2080 super xc ultra
i have version 1903. Where to find that version ?
I'm so fed up with the lousy original system with fans ticking / revving randomly no matter what ; already changed the fans TWICE with replacements from Aliexpress ; the first ones had a white sticker and kept revving, the, latest ones have a green sticker like the originals and there is no revving and ticking BUT this is still too loud, and some ticking <33% ; AND you have to use XC1 to control them as MSI AB can't handle the 3 fan system correctly ; I'M DONE, GONNA GET THIS DESHROUD MOD AND EFFICIENT/SILENT FANS. EVGA, you do NOT have my thanks. :)
Tech porn.... love it
Got this mod for my 3080, dropped temps from 64 to 58. Legit great product. If you have or can get good fans it’s definitely worth it.
Just ordered mine a couple days ago. Can't wait to get er on
you need a magnify glass to read the manual supplied, but the online customer service is good :) .
Saw this in Etsy last night! Gonna pick it up soon! This is ingenious.
WHY 120 AIO WHY ???????????
TOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think there's a PC on your Noctua fans.
TOO BAd FOR ME,, the shipping price is way higher then the product 🤣
any case fans are better than those small crappy gpu fans. You can zip tie them to the to the cooler.
this video is sponcor by Noctua 🤣
Very nice, however that tiny fan in the back seems less than useful. Why's it there?
Very nice. Do you know if there is something like for the 4080? I have a HP OEM 4080 and the thermal performance isn't the best.
So. Try exhaust. Another youtuber did this mod but made the fans exhaust. Less sound. And same. Sometimes 1 degreeC better thermal. But half the dB
Good speed bet I won't get that, anything over 200 be great though.
I put 2 120mm Arctic P12 fans on my 2080ti, i can't hear it now.
Only 4 C less because you mount the card with the back Hot plate towards MBO, sit the card in the PCIe normally, add 2x 92mm fans(pulling) on the backplate of the GPU sitting on the rubber antivibration pads and you'll have 10-15 C less in temps. 3000 series got very hot backplates, don't ignore it. Even my 1080 Ti benefits greatly for 1x 92 mm fan rested on the backplate blowing towards top of the case 6 C less + deshrouding 3x 92mm less 11 C - a total of 17 C less. Hope it helps
take that backplate and throw it in the trash where it belongs. There are other ways to keep your card straight that don't heat up your card.
@@dreyga2 as long as backplate got thermal pads in between is fine.
