I just realized this scene serves as an ironic comparison to Mufasa's death. Mufasa sought help from Scar, only to be thrown to his death. Zira refused help from Kiara, and allowed herself to fall to her death. Double irony is that its Kiara in Scar's position.

They should have kept this in the film. Because it teaches children that sometimes bad people will choose darkness ultimately and that not everyone can be saved no matter how hard you try. It would of tied well to the scenes of the movie cause it can ultimately teach the moral that yes you can save some who were raised in hell but not everybody in darkness will choose light

I picture my version of Roxas to become something similar to Zira. Not as extreme as her, but certainly as unwilling to let his pride go. And with the potential to be as harmful, as in my version, he murders DiZ with a cursed knife, and with Naminé's accidental help, he slaughters, in his memories, everyone he has ever known and cared for, ensuring he dies with a broken spirit. But don't worry, he won't hurt the real people. He just needed to get his frustrations out of his chest in order not to.

Get you a woman like Zira. She was a true ride or die to the end.

This movie could have been 5 times better if they kept the damn scene in the film. It makes Zira MEMORABLE. Sure she’s terrifying but she never had the 1 scene to make her stand out. Self suicide is something you don’t see often with villains. She’d rather be with Scar, against the circle of life than to try again and start over. Sick.

Since they just cut to Zira falling with a grin still on her face do you think that means the original scene actually was fully animated but cut at the last minute before the movie was released on video and dvd? Imagine if that piece of lost media surfaced one day. They didn’t redraw the scene, they could’ve given Zira a look of terror instead but since she goes down smiling I think that means it was all finished but cut

I find it funny how Zira thought it was a good idea to literally die rather then to get redeemed lol, she just sacrificed herself, she’s just dead.

There's so much weight behind the "never" like you're never going to help me, id rather die then accept your pride or move on from my goal. Id rather die with Scar then live amongst you all. Her hatred was that strong, her commitment to Scar was all she knew, like a cultist offing herself because the leader deemed it so

I just watched the deleted scene for the first time. And it gave me actual goose bumps. Jesus Christ that is dark and intense.

Somewhere in that raging river, Nuka's corpse is getting tossed around. :P

I actually wish they kept this in as it makes so much more sense to her death scene. In the actual film she's slipping and looking terrified, but once she's falling into the river, there's suddenly a smile on her face and I always found it strange. This deleted scene explains why she was smiling as she fell to her demise

It appears that Mufasa wasn't the only victim of the gorge. Nuka and his mother, Zira were also victims.

At least Zira is no doubt better than scar she may be very evil but at least she has honor and morality and self respect when Simba had scar at his mercy scar was coward enough to plead for mercy and use the family card even though he killed his own family and turned on simba the second he gained the advantage when the hyenas surrounded him he tried to beg his way out if it was scar he would have accepted the paw but the second he was pulled up threw kiara off Zira is honorable enough to reject help from her enemy and accept her fate rather than use her enemy to get out of it and betray them

I was just thinking of this scene in a biblical sense, “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in Heaven.”

When I watched the FINAL version of Zira's death, I felt that something was wrong with two of the scenes coming straight after each other (a shocked Kiara and a smiling Zira falling to her death)... they kinda lacked a transition, it looked like the beginning of Zira's last moments were cut off! Am I the only one who got that feeling while watching Zira's death?

If this was in the final product then this would be the darkest sequel Disney has ever made. I guess if they added this to the final product then this film would have recieved a PG or R rating.

I don't think someone as pure as Kiara is going to forget this scene for years to come.

She killed herself because she wanted to be with Scar who is already dead.

I prefer this version because it's not only in character for Zira, but because this may have been foreshadowed when Simba said to Kovu "Scar couldn't let go of his hate. And it destroyed him." . And guess what happened to Zira here.

Zira belongs in hell along with the other Disney Villains.

It was so repetitive, but in a spine chilling way. It was basically the death of mufasa all over again which makes it a full circl- Oh.. NO WAI- "IT'S THE CIRCLE OF LIIIIIIFEEEEEE!!"
