Mediterranean Cruise - Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady
Virgin Voyages are still relatively new and I wanted to see what it was really like to cruise with them. Join me as I board the Valiant Lady in Barcelona for the Irresistible Mediterranean cruise and my first experience of Virgin Voyages.
I show you what a typical cruise is like with Virgin, from the facilities onboard to the food, a quick tour of my cabin and show you some of the entertainment. I even look at the atmosphere onboard and the range of passengers, or sailors as Virgin calls them.
Onboard I found there was plenty to do and the facilities were very nice, I especially liked the gym which was huge for a cruise ship. The ship had a pretty relaxed atmosphere and the range of passengers was very mixed. I thought it may be more younger people as this is who Virgin seem to be targeting but the age group in reality was everyone from 18-70+, i'd say the average age was probable around 40 though. There was a sizeable portion of LGBT people onboard too.
I journeyed to Toulon in France, La Spezia in Italy, the French island of Corsica as well as Ibiza in Spain. This was part of the Irresistible Med cruise which is one of the cruises operated by Virgin in the Western Mediterranean.

El Nido is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, think of tropical beaches, crystal blue water and deserted islands and you'll find them all here. El Nido itself is a vibrant town with plenty of bars and restaurants and the perfect place to stay while you explore the area. I spent a few days in El Nido and went to Nacpan Beach as well as on a boat tour to some of the islands.
Checking out Manila-a quick visit to the city

I spent a few weeks in the Philippines and my first stop on the trip was the electric capital, Manila. The buzzing city home to around 13 million people. It's often the gateway into the country too for many visitors. I only had a few days here but spent some time checking out Intramuros, the historical part of the city. Getting to know a Filipino way of life in a few of the cities shopping mall...

You should have more subscribers 🤷🏻♂️. Your vlogs are always good quality and informative. We had the same thoughts as you re. Virgin. Organised zaniness isn't my thing 😂, but we are going to try a mini cruise from Portsmouth this year as we do like the style of the ships and the food looks amazing. Ta for Singapore/Kuala Lumpur vlogs, they came in handy for the Asia Cruise we’ve just done. Definitely didn’t try the durian after getting a whiff of it in China Town. 🤢😂
Thank you Steven, I really appreciate your comment, and glad you are liking my vlogs! 😃 Hope you had a great time in Asia too, I'd love to do cruise there, I think it would be amazing.
Awesome video! Very nicely done. I was looking to book a Virgin Carribean cruise, but wasn’t sure what to expect on Virgin. Looks great. Thanks for the thorough review. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, glad you liked the video! 😃
Great video, deserves more views 👍
Thank you, glad you liked the video! 😃
The Cinque Terre is completely different when cruise ships aren’t in port, late afternoon and evening are magical.
Hi love the vlog, we are going on our first VV cruise this year. Very excited. Just a quick question what time did you book the miss behave show and what time did you book the extra virgin restaurant? I’m n sure what time to book the shows if I also want to do a restaurant as we don’t want to miss rather each day
Thanks glad you liked the video! 😃 We booked the show for around 7pm and our meal for 8:15pm. Each of the shows onboard seemed to be on a couple of times during the cruise and the main restaurants are all open from around 5:30pm to 9:30pm in the evening so you should be able to do both. Enjoy your cruise, I'm sure you'll have a great time! 🥳

Thank you, it's a beautiful place! 😃
Perfect timing, I'm heading to KL in January... think I'll give the ice cream a miss 🤢😂
Hahaha durian is not for me! 😂 Have a great time in KL!
Thanks for the video. There is not much for Winter European cruises out there. I wanted to see what the weather would be like for a Mediterranean cruise around February... You are semi close on this cruise, maybe? I have a question. At 8:25 on the video you say "surprisingly for winter, the weather wasn't looking great". I want to confirm the weather is normally nice? Thank you
Hey! glad you like the video 😃. In the video I actually said 'unsurprisingly for winter the weather wasn't looking great'. This is as often in Northern Europe the weather can be wet and windy, and being from the UK this if often the case unfortunately. However if you are looking at a cruise in the Mediterranean in February the weather would be much nicer and quite different from Northern Europe. It will likely be warmer and more settled, especially if you go to the south of Spain. Hope that helps 🙂
Travelling Aegean islands departing Corfu on 10th may 24 When will excursions be advertised and able to be booked
I recall shore excursions being able to book a few months before the cruise by logging into the 'Cruise Control' section of your booking online. You are best checking with Marella however for specific dates of when shore excursions are released. Hope you have a great cruise!
Was the ship and cabins heated?
Yes, the ship was nice and warm and you could control the temperature inside your cabin.
Lots of good tips! Thank you ❤
Thanks, glad you liked the video!
I liked the video, but maybe you could consider to speak a little bit slowlier. Ok i'm brazilian, but i use to understand quite well. thank you.
We’re doing this cruise in two week. We really enjoyed this. Top work, new subs here. Cheers 🍻
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you have a great cruise too 😃
We're booked on a Greek Island cruise on Explorer in October, but visiting Heraklion, Santorini, Kusadasi, Piraeus and Argostoli. So hopefully a bit more diversity. Thanks for the review.
Thank you, glad you liked the video! Enjoy your cruise, sounds like a great itinerary 😃
Only in east coast you get crystal clear water
Welcome to penang
Thank you, it's a great place!
Yeah thanks for that feller, great info.
We were so disapointed with our cruise on explorer having been on other marella ships but you are spot on with the sushi bar it was excellent.
What was you disappointed with?
having to wait 30mins to be served a drink in the squid and anchor having to wait up to 2hours for a table in latitutde listening to staff arguing and swearing the list goes on. @@shanesmith1844
Is it warm in January?
Hey! I think Jan's average is around 16 degrees celsius, which is mild compared to most places in Europe at that time of year. I went in Feb and it was warm, not quite the heat of summer but you could walk around in a t-shirt during the day.
Nice video
Thanks, glad you liked the video!

Thanks, glad you liked the video! Hope you have a great time on your cruise too! 😃
I WENT ON THIS CRUISE AT THE SAME TIME TOOO😊
It is worth it! I was there this January and it was sooo beautiful, warm weather.
You have missed one of the most important museums which has brought Malaga to the forefront as one of the Mediterranean most famous cites, The “Picasso Museum”, Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga and when it’s museum opened 20 years ago, it catapulted Malaga and created a dominoes effect bringing the city to what it is today.
Málaga is a jem!
Going on this in 2 weeks, this is the best vlog I’ve seen. New subscriber added.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!!! 😃 You'll have a great time on the cruise too, it's a very nice ship-enjoy!
Tell me how the weather feels in March. I feel like it’s still too cold for a cruise
@@sumeetpalchoat774 Hi the weather was cold but we rapped up, the cruise was great fun and we enjoyed walking round the city’s.
Seems your videoing & editing is really what you concentrated on here pal & not the actual on street content of Málaga, a little too much BBC for me!
Great video!
Thank you!
Oh, your footage here is excellent - really good quality! You've portrayed Virtuosa in such a nice light - great video!
Thanks Fraser that's really nice of you! Glad you liked the video 😃
Great video, brought back memories of my visits in 2016 & 2017 when I went to many of the same places 🙂
Thanks Ray, glad you enjoyed the video! 😃 I really liked Malta and want to go back someday, it's a great place.
Epic video thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! 😃
Great Video! What was the currency in the Casino if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 😃. I didn't play anything in the casino unfortunately so I'm not sure of the currency. I think it was in euros, but not 100% certain.
Hi, what camera are you filming with?
@@camexplora9742 Hi, I use a Sony A6300 and some additional shots are from my iPhone 14pro.
Our Greek itinerary with P&O similar destinations to yours so share most of your views. Mykonos....A place for many to capture those iconic but over repeated Instagram images and selfies. Also some horror stories of visitors being "scammed" by 1 or 2 bars debiting inflated and unexpected amounts from peoples cards for basic food and drinks. Chania, totally agree. A fabulous Sunday spent there. Italian and Ottoman influences giving the place a different vibe Santorini. We knew we didn't want anywhere near the capital, so took a tour inland and around the island to its smaller communities, vineyards, hill tops. Would recommend that.
We really enjoy the pace and presentation style of your work in these vlogs. Good camera work, nice soundtracks well chosen. We hope more people discover you here and subscribe and enjoy your content as we do. Honestly, its far better than some of the travel vlogging community with their thousand of subscribers and views that we've seen.
Thanks, some very kind words, I'm really happy you are liking my content! 😊
We've just visited your channel for the first time, and really happy to subscribe, look through, and 👍more of your cool content now and in the future. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!!! I really appreciate your comment, and the subscribe too 😃
