I finally got my mary maxim kit too. I was told that they charge you on the 10th of the month and they have until the end of the month to send it out. They said that the shipment came in late. I will be interested what they say to you. I will probably make a sweater with mine.

Hi Tess! New sub 😊 I just started the MM crochet club in July & ended up contacting them about the shorted yarn. I guess it happened in a bunch & they sent it right away! I love the yarn for Aug but not so much the pattern...I'm thinking of using it with some deep red & white sparkle yarn for a cute holiday throw 🤔🎅😃 Can't wait to see what you do! This is the way that I change my colors & my precious Mama taught me how many years ago 💖😊

When I got the knir kits and crochet, i use the yarn for hats or scarf. I do use leftover for hat. Call them my happy scrappy hat which goes for homeless people. I made one knit blanket from needle knit kits. I like granny square or the c2c blankets with a solid colors snd or matching multi color yard. I done some with a solid colors that match, done in c2c throw blanket. I also done a granny square blankets with a solid color with multi color yarn that match solid color.

I don't really like making blankets. I get bored with it. Right , I'm working on making a granny square lapgan for winter, we'll see if it works for me lol

I do like the pattern and the yarn, but not sure about a making a lap blanket unless I knew someone who needed one ie in a wheelchair or something. Might make a nice little blanket for a non-shedding pet, but I don’t give my dog any blankets made from yarn as it’s almost impossible to get the hair out of it! 😄

Cute pattern. I am really starting to think about getting the crochet club. Right now I get the afghan one so I have to think if I can use up the yarn.

I like the pattern and the yarn. Maybe you could figure out the stitch multiples and use it to make a sweater, cardi, shawl, or wrap. 🤷🏻

The yarn is pretty. The design of the pattern would be pretty for a shoulder wrap. I think it's too loose for a lap blanket. It seems more decorative than functional for warmth. I've never made a lap blanket.

Tess, Every time you open a Mary Maxim kit I think I should try them, but I have so much yarn and I worry that they kits will just sit there. The yarn is nice but not sure about a lap blanket. I would maybe add some white sparkle yarn and make a full size Christmas blanket. Maybe use the ripple stitch? Hope you feel better soon.

I'm SO happy with my Mary Maxim kits! I started working this one up and it's so much prettier than the picture. I'd suggest working up a few rows and see what you think...you can always frog it. I do love the yarn in this one, too. This is such a great deal! So happy I canceled the Hooks N Needles box and went with this one. FAR better!

Solid granny square video please!

I find - when doing stacked sc - I hold the strand from the yo when pulling through the first sc, and when doing the second/stacked sc, I put hook through the front bar like she showed AND the strand I was holding, then yo (tighten strands so the top loop/V isn’t bigger than the rest} and pull through the 2 to complete the (stacked) sc. it looks more liked a dc this way bc it has a twist similar to the leg of the dc.

Lol I have been afraid to count my wipes 😂🧶🧶🧶🧶... However, when I sort through my yarn bins , I do get so excited to find a wip I forgot about! I have come across a few that I had no clue what it was that ai was making .. time to 🐸it! I have been good lately on completing and or consistently working on them! Thank you Tess!! An excellent, thorough tutorial!! Yours is the first true Solid Granny Square I have found!! Other solids still had a few little holes. What a difference changing those few key stitches!! The center looks straight also. It is the perfect Solid Granny Square!!👏👏 I didn’t mind your pup making a few noises at all. He was just letting those dogs walking by know that he lives there.🐾🐾That this is his house🐶Lol! I’m not sure what I will be making with it first. I’m just finishing a Granny Squares with Mushroom Decals Tote Bag for my 15 yr. old Granddaughter. If I was just starting it, I would have definitely used your perfect Solid Granny Square. I have it in my back pocket now though!☺️Thank you!!🤗💕😘🇨🇦
