Elevator + more! | From House to Home Ep 2
Welcome to the second episode of our little series called From House to Home! SPOILER ALERT: my elevator finally got installed! No more bumping my chair up and down stairs. Having the elevator gives me access to the whole house which is so liberating. Things are slowly coming together and we are anticipating more and more the final product. Doing most of the work ourselves takes more time but is very rewarding.
For those of you who are new here, I am paraplegic and get around in a wheelchair. My fiancé and I are building a fully wheelchair accessible house. You can check out my channel for our first episode.

Hello beautiful ❤❤❤
As a fellow wheelchair user I have been for the last 10 years now I had to bring in your resume/trail I am only paralyzed on my left side so I don’t want to Use catheters or anything like that thankfullyBut all your other tips were really good thank you!
Nice home. Your boyfriend looks like Joe Dirt?
Great tips! I’m 36 and been in a wheelchair all my life and have never thought of some of these. The seam ripper for the front casters is a brilliant idea! I’ll definitely be purchasing a couple!
@Danique Buissé I hope you make more content in the future 🙂
Hi, I just found your channel. I hadn't thought of using a seamripper for the hairy casters. I usually pull the caster all the way out, clean and spray lube the bearings, and tighten the caster bolts just tight enough the caster can still spin freely. Usually takes 30 minutes a couple times a year.
Thank you for nice video. What brand of this wheelchair? I'm looking for lighter one.
OMG I love this video!!! What I need is the tray !!! I am looking for it. How did you get it?!
Good
Great tips. Thank you for sharing
I’m tired just watching you!

Am a new wheelchair user,,well am still in the hospital and am trying to learn tips for the future,,,thanks so much for your time i enjoy your video
Well first of all I would like to say that you are very brave & I appreciate seing any1 I’m a wheelchair still living a productive & active life . I’m a left leg AKA n had complications so I was unable to get a prosthetic so I will pretty much be in a wheelchair for a good part of my life And when I had my injury in the beginning I never got said I remain positive but throughout my course of being in this year I see so many wheelchair people they just give up they get depressed and you know I try to tell them that you know there’s lifestyle out there for you just because you’re in that chair don’t give up so I just wanted to say I appreciate the videos and just I appreciate you doing what you do

You are beautiful and lovely I have a disability it's called cerebral palsy only mild, I would like to get to know you a little bit more if that is okay
Hi Danique. Great video. Thank you. I have been driving an FJ Cruiser and I have loved it. I am heartbroken to be car shopping but the seat that lowers down to help me in has broken and they can't repair it :( I have decided that my next car I don't want anything extra like that that can break and need a specialist to fix. Anyway, I was thinking a car and getting sad because I really dislike driving cars when I came across your video. I have been looking now for smaller suv's and definitely considering the Escape. If you don't mind sharing... What is the height of your chair? (ground to top of cushion) And height of your car's seat? (ground to top of seat) Thanks so much! Your video made me happier about my vehicle prospects
Good workout. Well done!

Great tips. I’ve been using the last tip since I started driving. I use a bicycle cup holder and mounted onto the frame of my chair. Very useful.
Where did you get the lap tray?
Canadian Tire :)
I didn’t know tire shops sell home goods. Canadian are weird. Lol
Impressive. Wish my car has memory seat. If I can go back, I would definitely pay extra for memory seat. Here is how I transfer. ua-cam.com/video/csabyhczZSc/v-deo.html
Have you tried using leg braces yet? standing frame?
Yes I have a standing frame and I just got leg braces recently!
@@DaniqueDupuis How long have you been using your standing frame? Do you find it easy to do? I'm also excited to hear you recently got leg braces. How is it going with them? Sorry for all the questions. I hope you don't mind?
How is your blood pressure standing in braces ?
Driving Heels I don’t mind at all! Honestly, I only use my standing frame once in a while when I’m doing physical therapy, and so it’s easy to use with my therapist. I’ve been working on going from sitting to standing with my leg braces at physio. It’s challenging but I’m liking them so far! I’m still learning how to use them.
David Butterworth I haven’t stood with them for a long period of time so my blood pressure has been fine so far. If I feel it dropping I just sit down until I feel better!
You hace spasms?
Owo! Very interesting video and you are also so pretty nice!! Keep going Danique, please make more ''How to'' videos (as transfers, excerises-streching, daily usefull tips or whatever).. Again you are great, and you just found a follower of you from Greece!! Keep going!
