This mod is awesome. Wish it had New Jedi Order characters like Jaina and Jacen Solo/ Darth Caedus though. Would love to play a recreation of the fight between Jaina and Caedus from the Legacy of the Force book. The fan film totally hyped me up for that even more.

This is the game of my youth pretty much, I was scared shitless of that Rancor fight gulping me up whole like this. I played this before Dark Forces II, and by before I mean like 12 years before. I got stuck many times, including becoming permastuck on map 12, that god damn swamp. I wandered around this map for hours, days even. The part I was stuck was the thing you had to see with force sight being turned on, the statue that's activated and it opens up the path to Dark Mara. Later maps I beaten many years later and yes those vorkyr are the most bullshit enemies in this game by a wide margin. Outcast also had some bizarre progression puzzles to get past. Something that normally is a secret area with extra stuff in most of 1990's games - in Outcast was the only valid path forward. Jesus christ I wasted so much time trying to figure where the hell to go next. They don't make games like this nowadays - maybe for the better.

Ohhhh, i remember i had a demo of this game on PC. I think it was the sequence with those two speeders going across the plains of naboo that you show at about 3:50. Maybe i need to find this game somewhere again lol

I was finally able to get around to watching this video and oh boy, I should have watched it sooner. Like the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series video you did, this was absolutely amazing and thank you for going through one of my favourite games of all time.

The first in the series for me was dark forces 1 and the demo of DK2 that came in the disc. Never finished DK2... So Jedi academy was the first jedi knight game i finished. Played online on lan houses too back in the day, alongside counter strike

Those worms that are "invincible" can actually be killed if you use a thermal detonator. It only works on certain angled land, but basically, use the timed function for the thermal detonator and if done correctly, the worm will swallow it, go back in ground and when it blows up will kill them instantly.

Jedi Academy was my first SW game I ever owned. So to me, Jedi Academy is my personal fav, it was Pc version too. Both it and Force Unleashed are to me, the best SW games ever. That and the two new Jedi games.

Kyle, Mara, Jacen (AKA Darth Caedus) and Jaina Solo, among many others are all FAR better characters whose stories blow Disney's pathetic excuse for fan fiction out of the galaxy. The EU was, is, and always will be canon to me.

In defense to the first dark Jedi you fought and easily killed as a novice at the tutorial area, there’s a point in the story where it is explained that the reason why dark Jedi have force power is thanks to the Scepter absorbing enough force energy and was shared with anyone connected to it. By the end of the game, it was explained that once the Scepter was destroyed, all the dark Jedi lost their power. Since Yavin was the first location that they used the Scepter on, there wasn’t enough force energy to share, so the dark Jedi you first fought is very weak, probably having no force power at all. The only thing he has is his combat skill, but with Jaden already connected to the force, he has a greater advantage over that dark Jedi.

1:23:48 There’s so much weight in Luke’s word when he said he scattered Desann and his Reborn troops. All by himself. We never get to see it, but it feels great to hear Luke casually flexing his Chosen One status like it’s Tuesday.

Not bad but the Disney bashing got old real quick. There are quality stories there.

btw i noticed a pretty wierd thing at 1:08:42. Did that super battle droid pull out a force shield??? I never saw them do that

One thing I don't like about the newer games is that we can't get weapons from enemies. Take Battle Front for example: I had a sniper rifle and was getting attacked by multiple enemies from close range so I had a hard time fighting them since I can only change my gun at weapon locker. Also some levels have preset weapons like the ones we play as Han or Lando. In those levels we have to fight entire armies with just a pistol because we can't pick up the machineguns from the enemies we kill. If it were a real situation I'm sure everyone would pick up a weapon from a dead body and use it, which is exactly what we can do in the Jedi Knight games.

Ok, so overall, love the video and this is one of the best treatments I’ve seen of one of my all time favourites. I also want to say it’s good to hear someone who loves the EU as much as I do. To me, Star Wars will always be the original trilogy and the EU. May the force be with you 🫡

Dark forces 2 is the goat

I hope they make a remaster of Dark Forces II and Mysteries Of The Sith, so not only can PC players play it on modern hardware, but console players can play it as well.

Wouldn’t count on a sequel, but they could capitalize on bad batch’s success with a game similar to RC. Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair all fit the classes of leader, demolitionist, slicer and sniper. Could take place on their earlier missions together.

This is the best Starwars game JA2 the OG battlefield is a close second

Whenever someone says “2005” one of the first things I think of is this along with ROTS being released.

Just replayed it, this time with the JAEnhanced mod and it really elevated the experience. Giving myself a silver bladed lightsaber and dueling in the first person perspective was amazing. Still think I might prefer Jedi Outcast for its more cohesive level design, but modded Academy can't be reccomended enough
