After Eau Rouge, that thing was still pulling in 5th gear all the way down Kemmel Straight until he had to brake for Les Combes. Those 1,000HP beasts had such notorious turbo lag (measured in minutes lol) that at the end of a straight, drivers would have to left foot brake (while feverishly downshifting with their 5-speed H-pattern manual) in order to keep the throttle fully engaged under braking so that the turbo would remain spooled up when exiting the corners in the lower gears.
