OK, Finished watching now. I was yelling at the monitor cuz they guy went right for a major scare and telling you to have it towed. 2 reasons I had a problem with that, #1, don;'t scare people like that, some people might not even spend the money to get it towed for repair thinking, a majore expense like this will end our bus life, so let's just sell it for cheap where it's t as is, where is. #2, Tow bill is expensive for buses when I figured, it most likley didn't need towed and you can save that big expense. A good mechanic give from worse case to be case scenario and have you try a couple things and help you figure out a way to limp it in to the shop for full permanent repair and NOT scare you unless he has good reason to beleive it, like water in your oil, then I"d have gone there but he didn';t; even have you pull your dipstick and ask what it looked like. I'll be honest, the first thing that came to my mind is, I know you' deleted your heater cores, and it's common where bus lifers looped their cooling hoses to bypass the heater cores, they come loose and they spew all their coolant out all over the place. On CAT C7, there is also a small peice of hose at the water pump about 1.5 inches long, that tends to split and spews your coolant out. My 200% Vision with the C7 has that isue right now, but it's steady drip when the engine is running, and as little as I drive this bus, and I intend to flush the whole cooling system soon including my heater cores that I'll be keeping, so it's 17 gallons of coolant, so I do add coolant and top off, then I make my 80 mile drive, and when I";m back, it takes about 1/2 gallon to top back off, so Im not fixing that issue until I get ready to clean and flush the whole cooling system, since 17 gallons of ELC coolant is not cheap, so I'm not wasting coolant 2x. At any rate, those are 2 minor things it could have been. Since you know you have to add coolant now anyway, I'd have had you fill it with water, start it up, let it run to full operatoring temp and then look around the hoses and radiator and determine where it's coming from. When you told me, you found a hole in the radiator, I'd have said, top it off with water, and DRIVE IT to the mechanice keeping an eye on your temp gauge, and if you have to stop and add 2 or 3 gallons of water 1 or 2 times to make it 40 miles to the mechanic, then so be it, still much cheaper than a tow bill and no harm done. I'd also, you may not need a radiator since they are so expensive, they can be repaired many times. However, knowing what I know about coolant for diesel engines, and the age of the bus, Go For it, Il'd allow you to buy a new radiator and tell you how to take care of your cooling system. I really need to get my channel going with info that'll help people like you guys out. The great news is, you guys didn't let the bus problems spoil your trip and did as planned anyway. I just hate that you have more towing and mechanic bills. Happy Anniversary though !!!

I';m yelling at he monitor right now !!!! And I do hope you have Coachnet. I think I';ve told you about it before, if you don't; have it, GET IT. They do recognize Skoolies as RV unlike AAA and and I hear Good Sam does not either, but you need it for the peace of mind for these expensive tow bills. I'll be back.

What was your original GVWR and do you need anything more than D licence to drive it? Asking because school buses I looked have around 30k GVWR.

I would agree with the great smokies since you said more south. But if you wanted to do NY and PA, the finger lakes region and north central PA is great for fall colors as well as other kinds of activities.

How long does it take to charge the battery? Do you have to keep it on the machine to charge it or can you charge it separately while you use a second battery for the next 8 hours?

Thanks for sharing. Now that it's been a year since this review, I wonder how you feel about it. Seems like the big tube is a bit inconvenient and then having to leave a window open for that where you can get insects inside and such.

It is absolutely NOT ready. I can think of another hundred things and the top five are the most important.

Insurance cpmpanies don't like roof decks either. Be sure to at least put a cable and lock around the bikes to the rack. I've heard of a few bikes getting stolem off of RV and Buses lately. Most the E bikes, but none the less, POS's like the easy targets. Lock'em Up so maybe they'll just walk on by and get the easy target. Nice upgrades. Solar System sounds great, so yeah, you can totally live off grid now and still have creature features like AC.

Congratulations on passing your CDR! If you get to upstate NY, I highly recommend the Adirondak region. Lake George is a great starting point. Lake Placid and the surrounding lakes are beautiful year 'round! If you're into winter sports, Lake Placid is also home of the US Olympic Team's eastern training facility. You can tour the sites of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics (we even got to ride the bobsled track!). That whole area is a favorite destination for us. Enjoy the trip wherever you go!

I live in Rochester, NY which is the Finger Lakes region. This region has a lot of wineries 🍇 A beautiful area to visit is Letchworth State Park or Watkins Glen State Park. Also Niagara Falls is a great place to visit!!!☺️🍂🍁

Great Smokey Mountains has all kinds of trails n rivers for paddleboards . Thats in Tennessee and its Absolutely Gorgeous There . Congratulations Maddy . Stay Safe Guys . Here Michigan Our Colors r Gorgeous plus lots trails n rivers too.

Also if you haven't done it already I would suggest cleaning up the wiring and hiding it so that the sun isn't baking it. It will get brittle that way. I would suggest getting some wire loom conduit to wrap it in and tuck it away. Plus this will help keep the water from coming loose.

Not sure what state you guys are from but I'm guessing Michigan, Indiana or Illinois. Id suggest NY, PA D.C.,WV and VA. Who's the best states that have scenic views and the color of the trees changes Then afterwards try North Carolina and Tennessee(the Great Smokey Mountains in both of those states). And while in Tennessee if you check out Nashville they have an amazing music culture there to check out

First of all, congratulations Maddy. You both are inspirational! My husband & I had just stumbled across your channel, and binge watched your build over the last month. You both are such hard workers with a great get-it-done attitude. Your parents have to be so proud of you, and please let them know the great job they have done! We have traveled in an RV for 14 yrs and understand the joy & challenges. We also had considerable work done at Scott's in Rockford so it's truly an ever evolving labor of love! May you continue to enjoy the adventures and thank you for sharing your perspective. Lake George & Lake Placid in New York are beautiful areas, and all along the East Coast into Maine is spectacular in Fall!
