Driven through it a number of times. It's the most confusing junction in the area and at £ 5.5M a total waste of tax payers money.

Road safety isn't trivial... it's a matter of life and death, and should be treated as such. Leaves painted on the ground DO NOT mean "pedestrian crossing"... If I approached this with no prior knowledge I'd likely hit a pedestrian. Coloured dots DO NOT mean "roundabout"... If I approached this with no prior knowledge I'd likely hit another vehicle... At least mark the central point of each roundabout. Not only does it not conform to The Highway Code, but this design's biggest sin it that it's highly confusing. Somebody should be held accountable for this flawed design concept.

A bigger roundabout . Traffic lights, queuing. Cant see a benefit. Should be free flow like junction 12. Be back in a few years to solve it.

Interesting to watch the number of cars cutting into the A3 queue to go east on the M25 from the A3 slip road going west on the M25, I do hope that once this is finished there will either be no need to cut in as the flow will be good or there will be enforcement of the solid chevron divider 🤞 we shall see. Interesting, how about doing a flyover of the A421/A428/A1 Black Cat Interchange, apparently at present its meant to be one the largest road construction sites in UK.

Don’t believe all of this green bridge nonsense. There is one built as part of the new A30 in Cornwall, still isn’t linked up or planted to any capacity…

How much better if they'd built a cloverleaf instead, thus removing the necessity of a roundabout and the accompanying conflict of traffic and need for traffic lights.

The bridge that’s supposed to make everyone warm and fuzzy about nature and the Highways Agencies destruction of acres of land, trees and habitat around this junction rebuild.

Interesting this is claiming to be the first. There is already a heathland bridge over the A556 between the M6 J19 and the M56 J7

Took a walk there on Saturday, we were staggered to see just how massive a construction it is, large enough and no doubt strong enough to take the M25. Looking forward to it opening though the commons are often very soggy. The skylarks are back at wisley airfield though maybe their last time as the fighing has started.

Great footage, you certainly took advantage of a break in this weather. Whilst I understand the advantage of the left turn "jet" lanes I am though still struggling to see any significant improvement for right turns. Have looked on project web pages but cannot find a summary, explanation or schematic that explains how Right turns are improved, still seems like you have 3 sets of traffic lights to get through. Anyone got any details?

Great overview video. I have tended to avoid this junction since the key part of this work started. People were too reliant on satnavs rather than reading the roadsigns - which changed with various developments - and they end up in the wrong lane but people don't like to let them in because they think they are trying to jump the queue, so it blocks a lane and causes more traffic and driver frustration for some people...I will be relieved when it is all eventually finished, that's for sure 🙂🙂

That has to be the most complicated civil engineering project ever. Not only do you have to keep the exiting routes flowing, but also havr to plan and implement the final solution. It can be seen that alot of the confusion now will be removed with a wider roundabout at the mid deck level and linkage roads. Great drone footage.

What would be good if you can because of the height restriction in the area but darken the video and overlay a highways drawing to show what it will look like compared to now. All the plans will be on a gov website somewhere.

What 3:33, pray tell, apart from the extensions to these larger over bridges and therefore the added square feet of all the tarmac involved with them, is the idea behind the expense of replacing the tighter radius original bridges‽

When are they ever going to finish this, there are never any workers actually doing anything in these videos, being as its way behind schedule they should be working 24/7 to finish it, forget the living bridge and finish the junction to get that part of southern england moving again. Every time i go through there its always stationary traffic way back to the Ripley junction. Those jet lanes are making no difference at all and the new enlarged roundabout is still not in use.

Good to record it before yet another historic airfield is lost

The whole building has gone now! I would go there most days taking pics and videos on my phone documenting it too, and got to know the workers very well. Loved going in the Toys R Us when I was a kid, and got my first camera in the Currys there as well. I'll never forget this place, the countless hours me and my friends would watch it getting knocked down by the machinery in awe, in wet or dry weather.

Thanks for posting these, I thoroughly enjoy the uldates. That is one serious project and the teams carrying out the work certainly cant be accused of sitting around. Genuinely impressed.

Went this afternoon to watch a couple of the beams being installed. We were commenting there that those (90 tonne!!) beams don't sit too far onto the central support! It's quite something watching the last few inches being nudged into place by hand!
