This is my favourite part of cutting a scarf joint. With a freshly sharpened chisel the shavings just slide off!

Thats some nice quality work, absolutely love it
Thank you! Cheers!
Which Delta model is that tall?
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.
What is the gradation?
When mass producing pieces wouldn’t it be better to drill peg holes in the tenon upon assembly? Just asking for a friend.😅
Mighty Thor!
That chisel is beautiful. Some day I’ll pony up the cash for a proper timber framing chisel.
Bravo 👏🏼
What thicknesser is that
Obviously I need to practice my chainsaw skills!
Chào bạn nhé
Holly crap yall are true craftsman. Excellent.
it's all cracked...
It’s just the natural checking of big timber.
That’s the way you do it
It looks great. It's a much better timber than we use to construct roofs in Poland. However, we build houses from concrete, bricks, and plaster. It takes about three years from the start to the end due to many technological breaks (a lot of water goes into concrete and plaster, and it takes time for the water to evaporate).
well!
Beautiful!! Incredible work! Will the SIPs act as the structural connection between the two roof lines?
We will be doing some framing in that area to tie the roof lines together
@@ThornhillTimberFrames Excellent. Thanks for sharing your work! I’m learning a lot from your videos.

I have never seen a hand held circular saw of that size. And used that skillfully! Kind regards from the tiny Netherlands

That was mesmerizing.
@thornhill would love to have the shavings!! Great for tinder
You are welcome to come get them anytime!
What are you spraying on the table?
@@robp259 50/50 paint thinner and vegetable oil to break down the pine sap and lubricate the base.
@@ThornhillTimberFrames I’ll have to give that a try. Thank you

Very interested in your Pergola design. Im a regular follower and have recently built a carport using my own Woodlore white spruce beetle kill. Might you consider selling your pergola plans? I know good plans are critical to success, just don't have that time right now. I can provide contact info. upon request. Thank you. Mike
@@CRezabeck that not something we typically do but if you email luc@thornhilltimberframes.com he will let you know if that is a possibility. Thank you for your interest.
