The Parent's Plea: Stop Spoiling Packers (and NFL) Games – We DVR for a Reason!
Hey football fans! We know you're excited about the game, but some of us have parenting duties that delay our NFL joy. Between diaper changes, school pickups, and snack time, we can't always catch the game live. So, this is our official, slightly desperate plea: PLEASE STOP SPOILING THE GAME! DVR is our best friend, and we just want to experience the thrill without knowing the score ahead of time. No texts, no spoilers, no updates - let us live in blissful ignorance until we hit 'play.' Help us out, fellow fans! 🙏💚💛 #SaveTheSurprise #NoSpoilersZone #PackersNation #BusyButStillDieHard #nfl #packers #football #gopackgo #greenbaypackers #ParentingAndFootball #FootballParentLife #SpoilerFreeFootball

    You should push the base pole into the gravel b4 pouring concrete. U don't want the base when it has concrete below it. The base pole needs to drain into the stone. That way it is not holding water. I always set my base pole a few inches into the gravel b4 pouring the bag directly into the hole. Mixing is not required with those red bags.

    The idea of the pea gravel was to bury the sleeve in it and pour the concrete AROUND it. Covering the pea gravel with concrete does nothing for the drainage.

    Nice work. Just a recommendation from one woodworker dad to another that works inside the home, get yourself one or two air cleaners. That fine dust will find it's way all over your house and your family's lungs. A couple of cheap box fans and furnace filters will make a world of difference.

    • @Hardwarehangout

    I have the same planer and it's awesome. I did a couple of fence picket projects myself recently. I was wondering where you got you pickets because the ones at my local HD are generally nasty and color varies wildly. I had to pick through a LOT of them just to find 10 that weren't too bad and similar color. Do you just take whatever even is they don't match? Also curious if you go back and do additional planing if the boards are cupped and the planer doesn't get all of the roughness in the middle and/or on the edges.

    • @Hardwarehangout
      @Hardwarehangout 2 місяці тому

      Starting out, we were also getting them at Home Depot. But after stopping at Menards and seeing how much smoother and nicer looking they were, we made the switch. I typically will pick through the entire bunk to find halfway decent ones, 80-100 at a time. I don't usually separate them by color, though. I like the mismatched look from the different wood tones. If they are too cupped or warped, I will save them for other projects or toss them in the scrap pile. Otherwise, I will just run them through multiple times until the blades have touched the whole board.

    If you batch doing one side of all boards at one time you will only have to adjust your planer height twice.

    • @Hardwarehangout

      Sonotube is used when you need to form above grade. Like posts for a wood deck; you don’t want them contacting the ground and rotting prematurely, so sonotube gives a nice and easy form that you will see for decades. In this case, the sonotube was just extra work and money since he covered it all up. You’re not supposed to leave the tubes in the ground either…
