It’s really difficult to fish crappie populations out. I don’t use FFS just because I fish for food and catch enough of what I need without it. I don’t think that the professional fishermen hurt bass populations because of all the technology they use to keep fish alive and healthy. FFS isn’t a problem for catch and release. That being said a lot of local amateur tournaments are different because they do kill a lot of the fish they catch because of how they handle the fish…I’ve seen tournaments where fish have to be released that the fish are dead at the boat ramps or floating on their sides about to die. I think it’s important for the professionals that have the ear of the public to do more promoting of how to handle fish especially in hot weather. Good takes on your experience using the technology. Big advocate for Phenix rods until Ark pays you more. But the Phenix rods are good rods for Chinese made, but I buy American when possible.

I’ve just got turned on to using a bait caster. And the first Phenix rod I’m buying is the 6’9” med/hvy. It seems to be a great all around rod I’m looking for. I found a great sale on them and I’m even going to try the 6’9” med spinning while I’m at it.
