    How long do they stay good after baking?

    • @MrsCrunchy
      @MrsCrunchy 8 днів тому

      I don't know the official answer to this because we always eat them within 1-2 days! But, I imagine they would stay good for at least a few days on the counter (you might want to add one of those moisture absorbing packets though to keep them crispy).

    Why do you need to dry them can't you make a tea with the fresh flowers. 🤔 Can you make a tea with the green leaves of the plant. 🤔 Can you use it in a vodka tonic . 🤔

    • @MrsCrunchy
      @MrsCrunchy 8 днів тому

      Drying the flowers removes the moisture, which decreases the chance of bad bacteria building up. I only use the flowers for tea, and from what I see, most people only use the flowers as well. Perhaps a mixologist can weigh in here for your last question. At the very least, it makes a very pretty garnish!

    Instead of using your olive oil in the beginning, could you use coconut oil, and skip the beeswax?

    • @MrsCrunchy
      @MrsCrunchy Місяць тому

      I haven't used coconut oil in this salve, but I believe you can. One thing with coconut oil is some people find it too heavy to use on their face. So, if you plan on using it on your face, you might want to test first. I think the beeswax shouldn't be omitted because that is what's going to solidify the salve.

    If you add tea tree oil to this would it prevent mold and or bacteria during the infusion process? if so how much tea tree should 1 use?

    • @MrsCrunchy
      @MrsCrunchy 2 місяці тому

      Good question. I haven't added tea tree oil, so unfortunately I can't give you an answer but I'm not aware of a reason why you couldn't try it. Since it's going on your skin, you wouldn't want to add too much since tea tree oil can be an irritant. I think as long as you make sure your calendula is completely dry, and any containers you use for infusion are completely sterilized and dry, you wouldn't need the tea tree oil.
