No litter in sigh, My mate and I used to go to Queens Garden Fountain on a night , when it was a roundabout to see custom cars used to meet up there , I particularly remember a Black Capri called Chantilly lace, with obviously a lace pattern on it , an MGB GT in Metal flake black . Those were the days .

I'm a little confused. The Film shows a BOAC VC10 but they were not taken on by BOAC until 1964. The first VC10 flight was June 1962. Not complaining, just confused. I joined the RAF in late 62 so it was all good to see!

I went to 3 Tattoos at Greenham as a small boy with my family . By a strange quirk of fate (and the GPS getting confused) I ended up coming back from RIAT 24 to south London via the main gate at Greenham Common! It’s returned to common land now but I can’t bring myself to go in there , I want to keep my memories as they are . On a lighter note , it’s amazing the aircraft from that 1977 display that were involved in the latest RIAT either flying or static including the B52, Eagle , Hunter , Grumman Tracker , Tornado plus others . Many thanks for posting this up, if it hadn’t been for my mad excursion I wouldn’t have had the inspiration to search !😂

thanks for the video, great times your family had, we had good times also but weren't so well offas yourselves and i can also remember the hardship that we endured, my fondness for those times still endure and its good to have those memories.

The telly show at 0:07 is 'People and Places which ran from 1957 to June 1963. The presenter is Gay Byrne and he joined the show in June 1961. So its June '61 to June '63.

Born 1960 this was the England of my childhood - sadly long gone for the better in somethings and far worse in others.

I remember getting the evil eye off me mother for making a chip sarnie in Gainsboro 😂

I was born in 1950 people think we look at 60s 70s through rose tinted specs but life was much slower and people took time for each other now we cant even get a phone call only a text or whatsapp not many now want to spend christmas with family

I love how the ladies all got stuffed into a car, but they looked great when they got out! Memories are beautiful...teacups and saucers, fancy hats, too. The men got their ladies to the Christmas celebrations and they were rewarded with lots of good good.

There was obviously so much love and happiness in the life of this family. My prayer is that the years have kept them well, and kept that love alive.

I was on the pier at Eastbourne in the 60s with my fishing rod which I'd acquired with my Green Shield stamps. A man walked past me & said, "You'll never catch any fish with that!" (I didn't). Ghastly monotonous amateur music btw. Couldn't you find anything better? How about those young lads from Liverpool? Er, what was their name again?
