What will happen if your fuel pop pressure is too high? 4. What will happen if your compression ratio is too high? 5. How does ignition timing with revs work exactly on a diesel engine? 6. If you put a different cetane rating of diesel what must happen to get a complete combination, must the fuel injected be lower or the injection timing be advanced or retarded and why?
I do not have all answers for you atm, but I have answers on question 4 and 5. 4: If your compression ratio is too high, the pressure after combustion will be way too high to handle for the piston chamber. It might crack or even break, so it's a pretty serious risk. 5: The fuel injection starts just before the piston reaches it's top dead point, this is because of the combustion delay. The delay is commonly a few amount of crank degrees. The combustion starts a few degrees before the top dead point. In this way, the maximum amount of power can be delivered with the combustion. This is because of the high pressure combined with the high temperatures, which can reach up to 200 bar and 1123 degrees Kelvin.
