      Why has the UFC become the measure rod for someone to be called successful in martial arts? As Rhodi Ferguson said "The UFC doesn't get the best athletes in the world fresh, they get athletes that are on their second athletic career"

    The French have the highest mountains in (Western) Europe. Skiing and snowboarding should be excellent for balance (and also standing force) which is very important in judo. I think they do it also. But it is dangerous. Surfing in the sea maybe also.

    • @JudoRoom
      @JudoRoom 14 днів тому

      I completely agree

    • @Evantailsacre
      @Evantailsacre 14 днів тому

      The french team uses rock climbing training methods like 'beastmakers' for grip strenght and slacklining for balance on a regular basis. I think they are the only team in the world to do so. They go the alps to train cardio vascularity, team building, and adaptation to the altitude of the competition. Usually it is good times and good vibes for 2 weeks. They mostly do cross country and nordic skiing and not alpine skiing when they go to the alps. I don't know about surfing but I don't think they do it.

    • @martinlaser7819
      @martinlaser7819 14 днів тому

      @@Evantailsacre Yes, the idea is not only endurance. It is quite dangerous. Remember Michael Schumacher. (Climbing without rope is even more dangerous for a layman.) And even if you distort your knee you can forget your career in judo. Remember the boring match between Muhammad Ali and Antonio Inoki where the mass media wrote that Ali risked his knees. Inoki directly searched the ground to kick his legs. So the fight ended with a draw. Ali stood the whole time on his legs and danced around Inoki waiting for him on his feet. I think the coach of the (judo) team has the responsibility if one of his top athletes gets a heavy injury. I think alpine and snowboarding is the own risk On the other hand you make more erythrocytes (red blood cells) to gain more oxygen in the height after 2 weeks. However, nowadays they know that the body regulation controls back in the lower regions. This is well known because of the blood doping with the extracted own blood from the mountains. Doping in judo? - It is almost unknown. Black people in alpine ski? They are not common but they would be enthusiastic. - It is expensive if you have to pay.
