Should you trust "news" about a new film release? Get reliable, thoroughly researched info: bit.ly/SGCissue20 We've seen a lot of click bait recently, and decided to counter it with in-depth journalism, similar to what we did about film prices a few years ago. Read about the actual owners and practices of certain sketchy companies who are not fulfilling their promises, and also about companies ...
Hasselblad Instax Back test from Hassy PB during a fashion shoot with Lufthansa

In order to be able to check the result directly on film on a professional shoot, there used to be the possibility to check the result directly on film with Peel apart film from Polaroid and Fuji. With the end of the Fuji FP 100 this was unfortunately no longer possible. We have already tested the Coyote Back for the Mamiya RB67 and were thrilled. Unfortunately, something comparable was missing...

Do you offer this kind of repair?
Nice helpful video.
where'sthe footage at??? cant wait to see it!!
I usually measure incident to camera and to the light. Adjust for effect I want.
Same problem with my end covers on the XM Motor battery. Would like to contact these people to see if they could make me a pair of covers.
You can order it from their website now.
Hi! Thx for sharing :) btw; who's the author of the music theme? Or whats the name of the song?
Well this has now been discontinued, they no longer make it, just black and white only.
Where to get?
We bought it from an auction.
Henri Cartier Bresson would have loved it 😂 Le moment "Destructive" für die Lendenwirbel 📸😄
looks messy to put together. How does one stop uneven heating because of lack of insulation? There is no way I would dry sheet film in that manner.
does Kaiser provide the lenses to?, and if not where do you get them, as presumably they are different to the camera lens.
What about the comparison test video? Did you do it ? Thank you
I've just started trying Jobo Alpha with their SilverBase processor. Grain is very fine , sharp images but results seem high in contrast. Reducing time for HP5+ by 10% seems better. Next I need to try printing these tests to see where I am with the Silverbase/Alpha
In the 1970s I had a film drier the rough size and shape of a kitchen blender that contained a fan, air filters and a drierite cartridge. It would dry one roll of 35mm or 120/220 film in 30 minutes . I desperately need to find or build a unit like that one.
Nice ReVox A77 Mk-IV
Meh
I'm new to this lille device and not a pro photographer. So far, w. this meter, I had great results when using my Barnack camera. However, what, in terms of contrast metering, does it mean, when you said that the reading showed you a latitude of 3 2/3 of an f stop? How do you set this on your camera? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks in advance.
pfff not even 100 years old and it already broke? They dont make them like they used to.
Is there any word on this camera's development?
We are in the prototype phase. We reported about the camera's progress in issue 22
Cool beans. How's your Widelux remake coming along?
The Agfa film still was not developed yet?
Is this the highest zoom MILC ever manufactured? What is the purpose of using a 1600mm with this particular camera rather than switching to a different setup? Is it out of brand loyal to Leica or to the user-friendly interface of the Leica camera body? And is the lens mirrorless too? It's a very interesting setup but I can't understand what purpose it serves. TL;DR: Why was it built?
Excellent video 😊!
the wrong side, facing the gloss of the drum
It's NOT $10 millions, it's $2064500 to be precise
Well the manager of the Leica Classic Store was next to us when we made the video. So the number we mentioned we got from him. If you have a better source than the Leica staff in Wetzlar pls let is know. It is buy the way not for sale and the number we mentioned is the price the lens is insured for.
@@silvergrainclassics it's insured for $10million, but every article on the internet states the price is $2064500
@@vicarious87 "The stupid thing about quotes from the internet is that you never know if they are true" (Leonardo Da Vinci 1442-1519) And I think Leonardo Da Vinci was right ;) Well thats the difference when you go to Wetzlar talk directly with the involved people and get first hand information or you just create a copy paste article. The price you are mentioning is a number that came up a few years ago. Since then everyone copied this. As I said when we recorded the video the officials from Leica were next to us. It is up to you which number you trust. It is not for sale anyway.
Can you measurre the diafragma, with That thing of the woman?
Yes thats a lightmeter. Metering in flash ambient mode.
And you havent left model's full name 🥲
Follow us on instagram there is the link to her account
@silvergrainclassics Thanks for reply 🤗
Thing looks like a weapon lol
When you need a radio to talk to the person holding the light meter. 😂
Well 17 meter distance
Something that occurred to me is wether or not the light meter at that distance is even effective. Wouldn't it be more effective to take a directional reading from the camera side as if you were taking a landscape at that distance? Pardon me if this sounds stupid but I'm still learning.
@@christiencabaniss2636 We were using it in ambient light mode and not reflected. Especially in studio photography its the best methode.
Не очень талантливый фотограф.
My mju ii takes better photos
Nah, i'll stick to my Iphone 6s
lol
Take a picture of the Moon.
We had only 10 minutes with this lens. It was a fun project and because of insurance restrictions the lens was not allowed to leave the building. On top of that we had only Phoenix and Kodak Ektachrome available at that moment.
1600mm on 35mm film? What's the distance between camera and the person?
17m
My iPhone takes better photos!
Doesn't make sense... That's all you get with a 1600mm?? It's so close, just across the room! Looks like what I get with 300/400mm...
The distance was 17m the portrait distance of your 300mm is aprox 3 meters.
I prefer My phone camera lenses 😹
Definitely suitable for street photography... First you need to clear the entire length of the street
An amazing (prototype) lens! The history of its creation for Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed Al-Thani is fascinating too!
Still takes gainy photos....
Grainy photos are the best photos. Grain free looks uncanny valley, especially for portraits.
You can always add grain can't take it away the same@@Philtho
The grain has nothing to do with the Lens. We had only 7-10minutes with this lens and only 2 stocks of color film available. The one you see is Harmann Phoenix. If we would have used a more fine grain film it would have looked different but that was the material we had. There were also no expectations. It was a fun project and we just wanted to use the lens and not revolutionize portrait photography.
street setup
DARPA commissioned it
Well when we rolled the lens out of the storage our colleague Doug who had been a aircraft technician at the US Airforce mentioned it looked a bit like when they mounted bombs under the wings of their warplanes back in the days😅
They should listed this under "mobile/outdoor" category on their website. April 1st incoming
Well check this…ua-cam.com/video/tS6QGw2PjFI/v-deo.htmlsi=5ujSDzLApv9AcJ4Z
Superb lenses, but you should use a uniform ground glass screen on the viewfinder, they work well with this kind of lenses. Thanks for sharing that wonderful experience and good photos too.
Well we did not expect to use the lens so we were not prepared. it was one of these "Now or Never" so the ground glass was not available as well as a different film stock. The entire project took 7-10 minutes.
SUPER !
Where can you get this in the US?
Please contact Jobo www.jobo.com/kontaktformular?ecms_lang=EN
Fantastic process ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing 🎉🎉
Camera options to add/drop, 1.) Cable shutter release option. 2.) Being able to stop barrel halfway, so user could expose separately the 1st & 2nd half of the entire frame. 3.) Aperture & shutter speed options w/in reason ...or affordable for design/production. 4.) Light meter ...would be nice, but not necessary. 5.) A design "now" with an option of possibly adding some type of film holder for more film footage. Just an idea. Panoramic cameras use up a lot of film. Not that it's needed ...just a most likely bad option for the purpose of this project. 6.) Viewfinder location ...left, center, right side ...what would be best. Just a few ideas to dump or possibly think about. Hopefully, it gets others thinking about improvements that may or may not be feasible or affordable.
Super helpful!
