Hi, I am Luisa and originally from Germany! I am devoted to baking and cooking and created this channel to share my passion with you.
Especially I want to focus on my favorite german recipes because of my origin and their delicacy.
I just finished my studies in Biology and baking has always been my counterpart to my profession, where I can relax and focus on something else. I never visited baking or cooking school, instead I’ve learned the most from my grandmother when I was at young age (Thank you Oma). The rest I’ve teach myself from watching baking videos and just trying out new recipes.

Did you know that german chocolate cake got its name because it is very popular in Germany, where it was invented.
@@bigbillmontgomeryjr2346 you should look it up. Actually it got its name from “Germans sweet chocolate” that it was originally made with. I am from Germany and I have never heard of this recipe before I moved to the US. Typically chocolate cake in Germany is not made with pecans!

does the cake have a texture almost like coconut? it looks like it's got coconut in it?
It actually does not contain coconut. It is a regular biscoff cake (cookie butter)! I have a great coconut cake flavor if you would like it!
Do you need to add baking soda
Not necessarily you can just add some more baking soda!

Good recipe! Does it tastes like banana or cheesecake? Actually not a fan of banana bread but I’ve 4 very ripe bananas and I don’t wanna waste them. I’m baking a cheesecake today but not sure how is it gonna end up with bananas 😅
It definitely has a banana flavor but not as strong as banana bread! So if you don’t like banana bread I am not sure you would like this cheesecake! Enjoy

It is a whipped cream frosting so it is very delicate but it can be dyed easily! You can pipe more details too! What were you thinking about?

What is a water bath of baking 😂
It is a gentle way of baking where the cake is baked inside a baking dish with water. I explain it in detail on my blog. Recipe is in the description

Hi. I've just made this, and it's baking in the oven. I followed the written instructions and now came to realize there are major differences in some of the quantities from the written and the video versions 😢 which are the correct ones? I tried a similar recipe once and came out a disaster, and thought to give yours a shot. Just really nervous about it now. 1.5 tablespoon of pumpkin spice seemed like a lot! But didn't stop to think that it could be wrong 😢
Hi! The written instructions and quantities are the right ones! The pumpkin spice does not change anything in the texture of the cake just the intensity of the flavor! I am sure it will taste great! Let me know how it came out! Thanks for reaching ouy

What makes you say that? It is a cheesecake that is made with ricotta cheese.
@@LUISABAKESWell, I apologize. It seems that it is primarily a cream cheese cake with a bit of ricotta. Im sorry I was harsh. I’m sure it is delicious.
@@catherineduncan7707 no worries! I am just learning, too! It was my first “ricotta” cheesecake that I made! Usually they are made fully with ricotta and no cream cheese?
@@LUISABAKES Yes, to my knowledge, the main ingredients are ricotta, sugar, and eggs. Then the addition of lemon or orange zest and anisette to taste. But again, I apologize for the know-it-all ness of my hasty reply. I am going to try your recipe because the combination will undoubtedly make it creamier. The Italian cheesecakes I’ve had have a bit of grainy texture.

@@Sara-ze5do thank you Sara! The problem with low sugar and low fat is that these are responsible for flavor and texture! So without it it tastes bland and bread like! You can use your favorite sugar alternative for the cheesecakes but for cake I am not sure as I have not tried it! Sorry about that!

I don't want to make it because it turns brown.
@@beautifulsky4481 hi, the recipe I use has lemon juice which prevents browning. You can see the result in the video. It stays nice and red. If you prefer store bought I would go with strawberry pie filling! You can either puree it to remove the strawberry pieces or use it like that! Enjoy!
