EPIC Jimny Weekend in the GRAMPIANS | Cliffside Camping & Off-Roading Adventure with a mate
UPDATE: thanks to everyone who pointed out that we left the fire hot. We really didn’t. We dumped about 15 litres of water on the fire just before we left and what you’re seeing is a combination of steam and some of the hotter larger wood smouldering under that water.
Headed out for an epic weekend in the Grampians with a mate, both of us in our Suzuki Jimnys, ready for a good bit of off-roading and exploring. Over two days, we pushed the Jimnys to their limits on some tricky trails, found some incredible camp spots, and ended up camping right on the edge of a cliff with an absolutely unreal view.
From winding forest tracks to open rocky trails, the Grampians delivered some tough terrain and amazing scenery. There’s something about off-roading in these little rigs that makes every trip feel like a real adventure. We’d stop to take in the views, set up camp in spots that felt like they were made just for us, and enjoy the peace of being out in the wild. Nights were spent by the fire, and there’s nothing like kicking back under the stars after a long day of exploring.
If you’re into overlanding, off-road tracks, or just love getting out in a Suzuki Jimny, you’ll love this one. This trip had it all: challenging trails, cliffside camps, and the best kind of company. I had this and the dune 1.4 awning in gale force winds on the NSW north coast end of september with a tarp as a windbreak & it was pretty solid. There are a couple things you can do if you want to use the charger in multiple vehicles. First, buy a second set of cables for the other vehicle. Second, use jumper cable connectors. You can also attach the charger to your travel trailer house battery to recharge when connected to shore power or when inputting solar power.
