My System for Getting an Impactful Executive Position
Each year, I spend tens of thousands of euros on my own self-development and education. Every single course, coaching program I take, I became a top student. Every time, I get the ROI ten times or more.
I sometimes get asked, "How do you know what program to buy, which coach to go for, what courses to choose, and what books to read? How do you know it's going to work?"
Fundamentally, asking that question shows that it might not work, because it's never going to be the thing-the book, the course, or the coach-that makes it work. You are the one who will make it work.
If you look at the public school system, it's not the best system in the world. Yet, many people succeed from an average school or with an average teacher. It's not because of the quality of the teachers; it's because of the mindset of these people. They have decided to succeed, no matter what, no matter the system, no matter who the teacher is.
So, whenever I hear someone say, "I bought this coaching program and it didn't work," or when someone asks me, "How do you guarantee that I will get results?" I want to answer this question with this video.

I’m just stopping to say “Thank you!” You’ve blown my mind! 🤯 I thought I had a really strong resume but after watching your videos, I understand that I need to change how it’s written as I look for a senior executive position. My resume was great when I was applying for more technical and middle-management positions but it has to evolve as a I target a new role. Your advice has helped me reshape how I will approach my cover letter, resume, and interviews. Anyway, I have to go… I’m excited to rewrite my resume. Thanks again.

Those 5 questions you showed a s good example come across as not having being well-prepared. What if you do, from my perspective, I think these are the trends in the industry, and I want to seek your perspective on the thinking?
I never ask these questions myself in my skip-level manager meetings, as the trends are available in the company's annual reports and discussed at every internal leadership conference, whether annually or quarterly. This question makes it difficult to translate into actionable insights and for you to add value to the conversation. On the contrary, it makes you come across as disconnected from the company executive agenda.
